135 Mexican citizens evacuated from Israel, ministry says

"Mexico’s foreign ministry said 135 citizens were evacuated on a military flight from Israel on Tuesday evening.

A second military flight is en route to Israel to pick up dozens more Mexicans who have requested to leave the country, the ministry said.

Two Mexican nationals are missing following Hamas’ attacks, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Tuesday."

A very incisive and instructive article from The Atlantic. It explicates Hamas’ covenant and how their main objective is to destroy Israel by any means necessary.

They have no interest in peace, no interest in co-existence, no interest in a two-state “solution.”

It is the “Mein Kampf” of Hamas and IMO mandatory reading for those who wish to know the actual motivation and plans of Hamas.

There’s a plan for Israel and a plan for the world.

It’s not pretty.

Palestinian news outlet telling citizens to remain in their homes. The more dead, the greater the propaganda value.

The occupation is trying to spread false news by calling the residents and demanding that they evacuate immediately. Please do not deal with these warnings at all. The occupation aims with this communication to create confusion and spread fear among our people in the street in Gaza. We live in our homes and die in our homes... We will not move. We will not budge. We are all behind the resistance.

In Gaza, more than 900 people have died, including 260 children and 230 women, in Israel’s bombardment, according to the health ministry. More than 4,500 people have also been injured, the ministry said, as Israeli air attacks on the blockaded territory continue.

In the West Bank, 21 people have died and 130 people have been injured, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society and the Palestinian health ministry.

Three Hezbollah fighters have also been killed in fighting across the Lebanon-Israel border, which also killed a deputy commander in the Israeli military and two Palestinian fighters.

"Iran would be suspect No. 1 in a lineup” of suspects
who could give Hamas the ability to launch the stunning terrorist attacks against Israel by air, land and sea and take it by surprise, said Andrew Borene.

Red bolding mine.
The bolded part was significant.

Would Israel have noticed if the planning for the hang gliders and the massing of the vehicles used, etc., was done at the Gaza border ?
And if so, did the Hamas killers (not going to dignify them as 'fighters' or 'soldiers') avoid this by training in another country altogether ?
What nation is supporting them ?
Omo.

NEW: Defense officials tell me US military were on the ground in Israel when Hamas attacked. A 'small number' of US troops were there for a planned training exercise, that exercise has now been cancelled. Those military servicemembers are no longer in the country. Got out on C17

Again, those military servicemembers are no longer in the country. NewsNation is told they got out of the country using an empty C-17 that flew into the country then flew out.

US military in the country during the attacks, *not in the area of the attacks.

PM Netanyahu: "Joe, I want to give you a clear picture of the difficult situation we face: We were struck Saturday by an attack whose savagery we have not seen since the Holocaust."

We've had hundreds massacred, families wiped out in their beds in their homes, women brutally raped and murdered, over 100 kidnapped, including children.

Since we last spoke, the extent of this evil, it's only gotten worse. They took dozens of children, bound them up, burned them and executed them. They beheaded soldiers.

They mowed down these youngsters who came to a nature festival and just put five jeeps around a depression in the soil, and like Babi Yar, they mowed them down, making sure that they killed everybody.

PM Netanyahu: "We've never seen such savagery in the history of the State. They're even worse than ISIS and we need to treat them as such."

Festival survivor says he covered himself with corpses in a bunker to stay alive

Rafael Zimerman says he hid out in a bunker near the music festival that was attacked by Hamas in southern Israel on Saturday.

On the day of the attack, he recalled running with his friends from "a lot of rockets." He said a car then took him and others to a nearby bunker, where 40-50 people eventually were hiding from the attack. He was near the back of the bunker as he was one of the first to get there, he told CNN's Anderson Cooper Tuesday night.

Zimerman heard police fighting the attackers and said that at one point gas was thrown into the bunker, which he said reminded him of the gas used by Nazis to kill Jews during the Holocaust.

"With the gas, you cannot breathe," he said. "It's impossible to breathe after 30 seconds."
Following the gas, the attackers entered the bunker and began shooting and throwing flash-bang grenades.

"I just covered myself with dead people, a lot of dead people," he said. "So I stayed for there inside like for hours, like just waiting for die, you know? I just wanted to die in peace because I suffered so much from the gas."

Zimerman, who has shrapnel wounds from the attack, said he did not move while covered by dead people in the bunker. Eventually, six people escaped, he said.

"I'm a miracle. I'm a survivor and I have to be glad," Zimerman added.

Israeli officials counted at least 260 bodies near the site of the Nova festival, outside Re’im, after the slaughter by Hamas Saturday morning.

"We were partying, you know, just partying and the life, young people, just living," he recalled. "A lot of people from all the world. It doesn't matter their religion. It doesn't matter from where you are," he said.

Israel faces the threat of a multi-front war after clashes with Syria and Lebanon, Agence France-Presse reports.

On Tuesday, for the first time since the Hamas attack, there was an exchange of fire between Israel and forces in Syria, after Israel’s military said munitions were fired towards the Golan Heights it has occupied since 1967.

There have also been three days of clashes with militants on the northern Israeli border with Lebanon.

US, Israel and Egypt discussing possible safe passage corridor

The US is talking with Israel and Egypt about the idea of a safe passage for Gaza civilians as Israel strikes the enclave after a deadly Hamas attack over the weekend, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan said on Tuesday.

“We are focused on this question, there are consultations going on,” Sullivan told reporters at the White House.

“But the details of that are something that are being discussed among the operational agencies and I don’t want to share too much of that publicly at this time,” Sullivan said.

“We do not deliberately target civilians,” Sullivan said of the US and Israel, when asked about civilian casualties in Gaza in the Tuesday press briefing.

“We work to make sure that our military operations are conducted consistent with the rule of law and the law of war,” he added.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said at least 900 Palestinians were killed and up to 4,600 wounded in Israeli air strikes on the blockaded enclave since Saturday. Gaza is 40km (25 miles) long by 10km (6 miles) wide and is home to 2.3 million people.

"The Biden administration is now coordinating with other countries on a plan that would offer safe passage out of Gaza for civilians who risk getting caught in the crossfire in the densely populated coastal enclave, administration officials said.

Palestinian civilians and Americans in Gaza would escape the war zone through a Southern corridor leading into Egypt under the plan being considered.

With Israel preparing for a potential ground incursion into Gaza, civilians who have no connection to Hamas are in danger of being left homeless or killed by the shelling."

'Hamas started this war. We’ll finish it': Israel senior adviser

Peter Gillibrand
BBC Newsnight

Benjamin Netanyahu’s senior adviser has told BBC Newsnight that Israel must "respond with force" to Hamas.

Speaking from Jerusalem, Mark Regev, who also used to be the Israeli Ambassador to the UK, said the country is shocked and they want a more stable reality in the region.

“Hamas started this war. We’ll finish it and we’ll finish it on our terms,” he told BBC Newsnight’s Diplomatic Editor, Mark Urban.

“I’d ask other people, citizens of Britain, of any other country, what would you do if 1,000 of your people were killed on one day?" he said.

"The Prime Minister has compared this to the September 11 attacks in the US. But if you look at the size of the Israeli population and compare it to the Americans… it was worse than September 11th."

“If Israel doesn’t respond with force, I’m afraid the lesson will be learnt across this region - you can hit Israel with impunity - that’s not acceptable.”

Dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck over 200 targets in the Al-Furqan neighborhood—a terrorist hotspot from which Hamas devises and executes their attacks.

This is the 3rd counterstrike in the area during the last 24 hours, in which 450 targets were struck.

Israel’s ambassador to the US urges international community to pressure Hamas to release hostages

From CNN’s Kaitlan Collins

Michael Herzog, Israel ambassador to the US, strongly urged the international community to pressure Hamas to release people taken as hostages.

“We ask the international community to call upon Hamas to release them unconditionally because taking hostages is a war crime,” Herzog said in a an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.

Herzog acknowledged that officials are still in the process of forming a complete understanding regarding the number of hostages, their identities and their status. He confirmed that among the hostages are Israelis, Americans and other nationalities.

Herzog said he was not sure if any hostages had been killed.

Discussing the evacuation of foreigners from Gaza, Herzog said they are coordinating with Egyptian and US authorities to assist in the safe exit of these individuals, given that the border with Israel is firmly shut.

“The border between Israel and Gaza is closed – this is a warzone,” Herzog said. “We are under no legal obligation to provide them with anything save for the basic humanitarian needs for sustenance. We comply with international law.”

Israel remains compliant with international law. The ambassador went on to say that Hamas itself has damaged vital infrastructure that benefits Gaza, such as the 10 power lines that deliver electricity from Israel to Gaza.

Recent New Jersey high school graduate among those missing in Israel, governor says

From CNN’s Zenebou Sylla

A recent New Jersey high school graduate serving as a soldier in the Israeli military is missing following Saturday's attacks on Israel by Hamas.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said he spoke with the parents of Edan Alexander, who told him their son was stationed near the Gaza border and is missing.

“At the time of this weekend’s attack, he was serving near the Gaza border in the Israel Defense Forces,” Murphy said. The governor said Alexander recently graduated from Tenafly High School in Bergen County.

“We pray for his swift safe return, and we pray for every family in New Jersey and across the country with loved ones who are still unaccounted for,” Murphy said.

The governor said his administration is closely monitoring the developments out of Israel to determine whether any New Jersey residents were killed or kidnapped.

“Tragically, we now know that there are New Jerseyans among the missing in Israel,” Murphy said at a vigil in support of Israel Tuesday evening.

The governor added that his administration is working with county and local law enforcement leaders to increase patrols and security in sensitive areas throughout the state including at federations, schools, day care centers and houses of worship.

“We pray for every innocent civilian. Israeli, Palestinian, and others,” Murphy said. “Our state stands ready to provide whatever humanitarian assistance we can to innocent families living throughout the region.”

I’m so sad over the murder of innocents. I’m also so disheartened to realize that the tentacles of terrorism and the empty excuses it uses for barbarism against humanity have infiltrated corners of the world I’d never have expected, even nearby.

Israeli solider finds mother's body "full of bullets" after Hamas attack

Israeli solider Betzalel Taljah went back to the kibbutz where his 63-year-old mother lived after it was attacked by Hamas over the weekend. When he arrived, he found that she had been killed, her body was “full of bullets.”

Taljah said when he found her body, he saw that she was shot from “head to toe.” He said she had a bag of snacks to give kids to help ease their fears of the attack.

Ultimately, she was not able to get to a safe place in time, Taljah said. The spelling of Taljah’s mothers name was not immediately available.

“My mom was a very good person,” he said. “I would want every body to remember her.”
Talijah said Hamas militants saw the attack “like a game.”

When he arrived at his mother’s kibbutz, he said it seemed like Hamas came “just to kill and destroy.”
