Aid worker Silvia Costanza Romano snatched in Kenyan raid

Silvia Costanza Romano was helping orphans.
"A young Italian volunteer at a Kenyan orphanage was abducted by gunmen who shot at random as they fled, wounding five others, including three children."

"Ms Costanza Romano, 23, from Milan, was working for the Italian charity Africa Milele Onlus and is believed to have been targeted by the gang. Ronald Kazungu Ngala, 19, said that he had heard gunfire at about 7.30pm when six men with guns and machetes demanded to know where the “mgeni” — Swahili for visitor — was."

"Kenyan police have identified three suspects in the kidnapping of an Italian woman and are offering a reward of one million shillings ($9,750) for information leading to their arrest."

Terrible. One of my best friends works for a relief organization and is regularly deployed in the poorest regions in the world. I'm always afraid of something like this happening to her. Hoping the best for this lady, what a horrible ordeal!

My heart breaks for this young girl. The fact she was targeted and they didn’t care who they shot when leaving with her scares the hell out of me. My stomach drops thinking about what she might be going through and the absolute fear she must be experiencing. I hope and pray they find her soon!!

Italian volunteer Silvia Costanza Romano has finally been released by the kidnappers according to Italy PM Giuseppe Conte.

''Silvia was kidnapped on November 20, 2018 at her rental home in Chakama in Kilifi.

Silvia was 23 years old during the abduction and was the manager of African Milele Onlus, an Italian based humanitarian group.''

''The three key suspects were Ibrahim Omar, Abdulla Wario, and Moses Liwali .''
