Clothing: Short sleeved 'Bindiya' brand t-shirt with the printed design 'Summer Beach Shaker', 'Indian Motocycle' brand jeans, padded bra (English size 32), gym shoes
Jewelry: Six earrings (three on each lobe) - two of them are pendant earrings representing the sun and the moon. A pair of ladybugs, a necklace, a neck chain with two pendants, an Egyptian head and a dolphin. She also wore bracelets: one bearing the name Maria next to a half moon and another with flat links. On the other arm, a bracelet with thin links. She also wore a ring with a zircon stone. (The presence of an Italian name on the bracelet doesn't necessarily indicate an Italian person. Often foreign citizens, most particularly Asians, use Italian names outside their community.)
Additional Personal Items: Plastic tarpaulin-type sheet (with Latin and Chinese characters on - the Chinese characters on the sheet roughly translates to 'United we defeat' in English)

Circumstances of Discovery

On the morning of October 3, 2002, following an anonymous call, law enforcement located the fully skeletonized body of a young woman. The body was located at the foot of a high voltage pylon in Filettole, a wooded area near Prato. Two identical neckties were tied to the pylon. The local police scoured all the missing persons reports to identify the remains, but were unsuccessful.

I know for a fact that Prato, Tuscany, has had a Chinese population since the 1970s. My father always told me about it. He used to go there as a tourist when he was free from work. Now, the same Chinese who once worked in the factories own them, factories that produce textiles and other materials. This woman could be a daughter, granddaughter, or relative of all those Chinese who work there, or she traveled there from China for work. Could her death have been a murder commissioned by the triads?

It appears like a suicide by hanging from the pylon. But unclear where the neckties were hanging on.
There is a high suicide rate among Chinese and Vietnamese low wage workers abroad. Many work in nail salons, laundries, as sex workers, in restaurants, in Asian retail halls, as maids and not all of them do it legally. Mental health is hardly addressed or treated. Very sad. I hope eventuelly she can get her name back
