Jaguar Woman" of Mexico

I never said she doesn't have a right to do whatever she wants to herself and her body. And I think it's incredible that she survived and persevered. I am not judging her character. I just think it's ugly what she did. I have every right to think that, just like anyone has every right to hate my hair or my outfit or whatever. It's just a personal opinion.

It's human nature to notice someone's looks. Babies do it. I've seen studies where they are more receptive and interested in the faces of attractive people.

I certainly don't not like someone because of how they look or not give them a chance. I'm not shallow and uncaring. But I do notice looks.

That takes/took a LOT of commitment. If it makes her happy, then more power to her.

Mexico has her, the States has Cat Man, and Canada has Rico the Zombie Boy. I'm a huge fan of Zombie Boy because of his modeling and runway work.

While a child *should* not be ashamed of a mother who loves them and cares for them, I cannot help but think back to being a teen and how horribly embarrassed I would have been of my mother had she chosen to make herself look like that.

The pic of her in the park with her kids really struck me. I mean, I don't wear sweats when I'm out with my 13 y.o. daughter so as not to embarrass her, for goodness sake.

Good grief, I wonder what kind of heck her kids catch from their friends?

I am sure her children are made fun of on a daily basis. I am sure that some parents tell their children not to talk to the kids who have the "weird looking" mommy. I am sure some teachers aren't as attentive to her children in the classroom. I am sure her children face all kinds of discrimination because they have a mother who went to great extremes to look like a freak.

I am sorry but when you become a parent, it stops being all about you and what you want. This woman is extremely selfish IMO.

When I saw the photo at first I was drawn to her beautiful eyes.
IMO, extreme piercing and body modification, facial tatts, horns etc is a form of self harm

That said, I really admire her guts and creativity, her children look happy and relaxed. Each to their own :)

My first thought was where does she get the $ to afford these tatoos?

and the abuse continued... just inflicted by self now. Some people cut. Some binge and purge. Some become addicts.

She mutilates.

JMHO

(Don't mind me, though... I think even ONE tattoo is ugly. lol)

I read all the comments before I clicked to the article, so I was expecting some gruesomely hideous person. Going in with that in mind, she looks pretty good! She looks to me like a sampler of everything that can be done through the modification arts, like she could stand in the lobby as a live demonstration. Someday she'll probably regret that she didn't exercise a lot more restraint in facial accessories.
