6 reactors at one plant and what 4-6 at the other?

If both plants go, are we still to believe that the US won't be affected? I for one, do not.

No water = BAD NEWS!

The containment vessel there has been breached? IIRC

Has there been anything about how radiation travels? Does it need a "host" like particles of some type to be air borne for long distances? Same with water...would migrating sea life carry radiation with them to other areas that could then contaminate those areas and creatures? I admit to having absolutely no knowledge of things radioactive but these are the things that concern me more so then the radiation from the plant itself as it's released. I sure wish we'd hear from the White House on some of these issues. I've never seen anything like this. Has the captain left the ship?

(Reuters) - Japan Atomic Power Co said on Tuesday that the sole 1,100 megawatt unit its Tokai Daini nuclear plant, located on the northeast coast of Japan, had safely cooled down earlier in the day.

The reactor automatically shut down shortly after a devastating earthquake and tsunami on Friday and was expected to be safely cooled down by Tuesday.

Our company buys alot of supplies from China. I ask my boss today how far was his China man from Japan, he said about 6-hours. I ask if he would be affected by the melt down and the radiation. He said pending which way the wind is blowing. He said we the US is more at risk then they are.

I have seen varying reports. Some say 36 hours by air particles, some say weeks. Yes it would be nice to have a President in charge.I picture him and Michelle dancing to the Barry Manilow song about Rio when the rest of us are worried sick about mankind.
