Smoke from fire may have high levels of radiation in it.

If possible, stay inside a concrete building.

  • #143
If you're at work.. stay there do not leave..

I'm seeing reports of an explosion at #4?

I'm quite confused right now. Can someone run down the which and when of the explosions?

Thanks.

Prayers going for all of us...

Close windows and don't use ventilation equipment. If you have laundry outside, don't bring it indoors.

Holy cow and oh my gosh.

Stay in a concrete building if possible. Don't use air conditioning. Don't bring in outside air.

Oh this sucks BAD.

I can share the updates we get at work... Right now, the update we got today is useless as it was based on info compiled this morning. I will post tomorrow's info as soon as we get it...

They really don't want to talk about number 2 containment being damaged, which is the worst scenario. MOO. Now it's that wee fire at number 4 that is causing the problem.

  • #149
don't bring any laundry hanging outside inside. Leave it outside.

When you come inside - take your jacket off and leave it outside.

Situation in #4 is very dangerous.

  • #150
This is crazy! I didn't even know about #4's problems until this presser.

  • #151
If possible, stay in concrete building, doors and windows shut, do not use air conditioning, do not bring laundry in if it is already outside. If you are outside get inside, get rid of clothes you had on, dust out hair........

  • #152
talking about not taking any laundry into the house that has been outside

If you're wearinga jack or a hair do dad.. dust if off before taking it indoors..

REALLY???????? dust it off???

Has President Obama addressed this yet to the American people? Do we know officially what we, as a country, are up against? We have family in Oregon and California. Are they at risk? I think it's time for some official word on what's really going on and what the possible consequences are for the American people. Can the radiation reach our shores? Is it time to stock food? If indeed the radiation may reach as far as Chicago, as someone posted earlier, we're talking the U. S. bread basket. If there are virtually no possibilities of this happening, it's time to alleviate that fear. If the possibilities are real, it's time to learn what we need to know to prepare and stay safe.

He'll think about it over another round of golf!

The problem is - how long is this going to go on? How many reactors are there total? So how long are these people going to have to 'stay where they are?'

Now that the Japanese officials have made a public statement, I expect our president to do the same, and in short order. I'm not an alarmist, but this tragedy potentially will have a global impact. If the danger is not as great as some of us might imagine, we need to hear that, too.

now saying that are speaking about assumptions about chemicals leading to hydrogen explosions it MIGHT be causing fires......

They don't know chit -says peeples

Oh my, at levels of 100 milisievers, sterility.

Yes, it's my understanding those that work in or around nuclear facilities sign a waiver that they have been informed radiation can cause sterility.
