Underlined by me

So, how can we believe anyone about what is coming or what isn't coming or where it is going or how much is going? They have no clue - YET!

And when we're talking about 1200 tons of radioactive fuel - I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT THEM TO HAVE A CLUE!!!!!!

We might have no clue, but i betcha someone high in office does. Hate this to become political, because in essence it's not, but why is BO in Rio right now (southen hemisphere).

Q&A: Radiation risks and potassium iodide
March 16, 2011

"Californians concerned that radiation from damaged Japanese nuclear power plants could reach the U.S. have rushed to protect themselves by stockpiling potassium iodide. Times reporter Molly Hennessy-Fiske talked to Dr. Glenn Braunstein, director of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s thyroid cancer center and chair of the department of medicine, about the potential risks and benefits of the drug."

Lots of Qs, lots of As.

"Q. What about keeping potassium iodide on hand as a precaution?

A: If they have it on hand and an air raid siren goes off, then they can take it and they don’t have to go to a distribution center. Last year the residents around San Onofre [nuclear power plant] were offered two free pills of potassium iodide, and then there are big stores of potassium iodide around San Onofre in case there’s a problem. There’s nothing wrong with having it — it’s just that there’s no reason they have to panic and run out to get it now. It really galls me to see the profiteers on the Internet taking advantage of people’s fears."

Oh you can count on that. Wonder how many drones have captured data from the site today? Plus you have to wonder what the ISS is collecting and sending back here. Such sophisticated equipment we have - we don't need to wait on them for information. Then there's the USS Ronald Reagan - right there too - collecting data and info.

I'm wondering if we're gonna see the Great Eastward Movement (as opposed to the Great Westward Expansion - now in the history books)?

What's up with the release of salt stockpiles? For the iodide? That's strange

#
0444: Salt sold in China is mostly iodised as part of a national policy to prevent iodine deficiency disorders. AFP is reporting a run on the product in shops, partly because shoppers believe it could help ward off the effects of potential radioactivity from Japan's reactors. "Salt sold out early this morning," an employee with a branch of French supermarket chain Carrefour in Shanghai said. All the salt was reportedly snapped up within 30 minutes of the store's opening today by anxious shoppers. Many customers reported salt prices at other shops in the city had risen as much as six-fold. In the southern city of Guangzhou, a shop staff member said: "There are many people queuing to buy iodised salt in our store. We have to control it. One client can only buy two bags of salt." Meanwhile, the Chinese government says the country faces no imminent health threat from the Japanese disaster.

LOL love ya teh...

I'm disappointed at the lack of reporting of radiation levels and truthful information. Seems to me they have a spent/used fuel rod problem. Not sure how they're going to solve that one. I doubt the containers have been breached even in a melt down but time will tell.

Signs point to they have a major incident. Some questions I don't think have answers yet. :maddening:

4.42am (1.42pm JST): The office of the Japanese prime minister is using its English language Twitter account (@JPN_PMO) to reassure people in light of the US warning to stay more than 80km away from the Fukushima plant or take cover:

We believe they made a more conservative assessment of the radiation level from perspective of protecting US citizens.

Mr. Edano: Japan Gov't has asked residents living btw 20 & 30 km from the plant to take shelter as a precaution.

No impact on human body at present even if u staying outside for 24 hrs.
