How do we know this specifically? I find it strange that it took them 8 days to find a body if it was that easy to locate. Plus her share mates were actively searching, saying that she was missing. Unless this was just a way of deterring others from knowing? Regardless, I feel so sorry for Alice and her family. My condolences and I hope that they stick together in this difficult time. There are too many unhappy people out in the world.

We had a case here in Australia where a young man - Daniel O'Keefe - ended his own life, at the home he shared with his parents, and despite searching done by the parents and by the police it took 5 years before he was found. He had wedged himself into a really small place under the house.

I agree that we cannot know for sure where Alice was found unless it comes from an official or family source. And that could be unlikely as, in respect for the family, we probably will hear no/little more about this matter. imo

Oh my!!! He was there under the house where he lived with his parents for that long and they never knew all that time. How heartbreaking for them.

Some people just don't want to be found, or even distracted from doing the deed, which is why many suicidal people go off into forests and quiet places free from anyone around them.

Alice Hodgkinson, from Nottingham, who was living in Kanagawa, a prefecture just south of Tokyo, had been missing from her home since Thursday 1 July after she failed to turn up for work in the capital.

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed on Friday that local authorities in the prefecture discovered her body on Wednesday this week and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the 28-year-old's death.

In a statement, her mother Julie, father Steve and brother Peter described Ms Hodgkinson as an "intelligent, adventurous, confident, caring young woman with a tremendous sense of humour".

The family said: "She will be sorely missed and we would ask that our family is left in peace at this difficult time so we can come to terms with what has happened.

We would also like to thank all those people, both in the UK and Japan, who have worked so very hard to raise awareness of Alice's disappearance and provide practical support.

"Their support at this difficult time has been truly humbling. Thank you one and all."

It is understood officers forced their way into her apartment on July 1 after she was reported missing and found a note addressed to her dad and brother.

The distraught father, who last saw his daughter in 2019 before she moved abroad, said that she "seemed to be leading a happy, fulfilling life" and their relationship was "good".

The family want to repatriate Ms Hodginkson’s body as soon as possible but said Steve said he’s unsure if he or his son will travel to Japan to do so.

In the photo where Alice is wearing a black dress, I may be wrong but she appears to be pregnant, my wife thinks so too.
We`ll never know the full facts and if or what she was involved in and who with. Many young British women have died in mysterious circumstances abroad and rarely are the full facts released.

At first glance, it looks like a bump. But I think it’s just a blending of something black on the wall. Remove that art or whatever, and she doesn’t look pregnant.
