If Michelle had not been pregnant, IMO JY would NEVER had married her.

After learning that Michelle was pregnant, Jason and Michelle made a decision to get married and have a family. I have no doubt that they discussed all the options prior to coming to that decision.

It's completely irrelevant. Jason and Michelle could have discussed giving a baby up for adoption, aborting, letting Michelle raise the child alone, and all sorts of other possibilities ... but none of that happened. What happened is that they decided to not only have the child, but they also decided to get married.

Otto and perhaps he really didn't want to do any of that? Perhaps this is what made him cheat on his wife? Complain about her? Talk to her like garbage? A lot of men feel pressured into marriage and being a father very often, and almost always when I wife is murdered and the husband is guilty these are the number one reasons. He was a crappy husband we know that, does it make him a killer? He was found guilty.

Jason may still be in prison, but his conviction has been overturned and he has been ordered a new trial. If this goes through, he will soon be joining Brad Cooper in jail in Raleigh, and there may be a bail hearing. Stay tuned.

I'll definitely stay tuned. I don't have a dog in this fight. I have followed since the very beginning and do believe based on the evidence that JY murdered his wife. I don't know any of the people involved and wouldn't want to walk in their shoes. There are no winners. It's a tragic story. IMO.

Forgotten??? Otto are you serious. This poor child internalized everything she was exposed to that night and morning. Thank God she has the Fishe's who will help her ( ie: therapy)as she grows up!! This poor, poor little girl who wanted a wiashcloth and bandaids for her Mommy's booboos.

The child was 2 years old. She did not know that her mother was murdered. It is unusual for anyone to retain memories from when they were two years old. There is a very good chance that she has forgotten the experience.

I couldn't agree more, Tarheel. Her whole, small world came crashing down. Whisked away from her comfortable home never to see or hear or feel her mommy again. IMO.

Based on what I've seen with JY he satisfied himself first and foremost. Part of his MO was to be seen by SS. He wanted her to know what his plans were for the evening. He was supposed to be gone by the time she arrived. IMO.

Why does it matter that Shelly knows his plans?

They were married on Aug 3, 2003. There was no social pressure on anyone to get married simply because of a pregnancy. It was not the 1950s.

I have asked many husbands (friends) if they would have gone to the house. Every single one said h*ll yes!!

My own husband has said over and over "I can't believe he didn't go over there."

OMG, how morbid. I couldn't imagine wanting to go to the area where your loved one was killed. Horrible.

It's not going to be easy, having all these retrials in NC, If they made a plea deal to Raven Abaroa when the jury came back with an 11-1 Guilty, maybe something along the same lines will be offered to JY and BC.

I think both have an excellent chance at acquittal. I really hope neither considers any deals.

Well, I'll believe it when I see it. "Sets a path for" is pretty vague and they seem in no hurry to schedule any retrials right now, though that one is in a different county.

Thanks Otto. I thought Michelle spoke to a friend about this? I understand what you are saying here, but I have to tell you that it was not the first time a man participate in getting his wife pregnant without wanting to. Didn't Michelle Young tell a friend or her mother that he didn't want another baby? There were issues around babies in this marriage as I remember.

Also, I am not sure LE would be immediately be suspicious of a husband if he was on a business trip, it would have taken them at least a few hours to put together JY's lies before they made that leap. MO

BBM. I think they became suspicious when he wouldn't speak to them once he knew she was dead. He found out @ 1 o'clock. It was a good 8 hours before he arrived @ his SIL's. He hadn't retained a lawyer yet. Why wouldn't he speak with them? Wouldn't an innocent husband want to talk to the cops immediately? Not get the info from other sources? Go straight to the people on the scene? Ask about the details? How could this be? I left a healthy wife and child just last evening! Getting his mother to take the call for him was a mistake. It didn't look good. All just my opinion.

Have you ever been in a house with this floorplan?

I have, several in fact and all in Enchanted Oaks. We lived in one almost exactly like Michelle's. While standing in the doorway to the kitchen, you could see through the kitchen and breakfast room to the den. The door from the garage opened to face the stairway, with the kitchen to the left. The was no door there, just a doorway. The refrigerator was recessed, making it level with the countertop and desk. You could see the desk....yes, you could.
