That makes no sense. The alibi was that he was at the HI that night. None of the time after that matters as far as what may or may not incriminate him. (Unless he didn't show up for the meeting or something like that.)

Now, that would have been one of those gotcha moments. Failure to show up at his scheduled meeting
would have been one of those things no one could explain.

Not to mention the threatening way he was spoken to by LE.

The big bad LE. Were they supposed to hug him and tell them how sorry they were? He wouldn't even talk to them on the phone. Common sense tells you he avoided them at all cost. IMO.

There are two ways to interpret what Jason did when he arrived at Meredith's home: his priority was his daughter and he immediately sought to comfort her, or he should have left her alone, and spent time with police ... whose only objective was to pin him (the suspect) to a story.

There was time to do both. The police came sometime after he had arrived and was laying down with his daughter in the back room.

If that is the case why did he have to write her phone number down on the maps he printed out? This one keeps niggling at my brain....

PS- Not picking on your posts in particular Sunshine, you just are the one bringing up things that are wracking my brain today :)

I didn't pick up on this until recently that JY needed MF's phone number because he called her around the time he stopped at Cracker Barrel...now, whether they had plans to talk that night or not, I don't know.

Actually, he could have left earlier and still spent the night in Hillsville. That wouldn't have looked odd. Say he left at 4, arrived there at 7, had dinner, etc. In fact, maybe his alibi would have been stronger if he showed he was there earlier instead of arriving at 11 only to turn around and drive the whole way back.

Mowing the lawn = indication of innocence

Based on what I've seen with JY he satisfied himself first and foremost. Part of his MO was to be seen by SS. He wanted her to know what his plans were for the evening. He was supposed to be gone by the time she arrived. IMO.

Jason left his wife and daughter alive and well at home. When he returned, his wife had been murdered.

You can only declare this if you were there as a witness.

Was this the time he texted MY (or emailed, not sure) complaining about mowing the lawn because it was hot and saying something snotty about CY?
I recall something like that, not sure if it was THAT day though.
TIA!

That was a different time...some weeks before. He told his wife she better pray the beer kicks in.. he could kill her.

He most certainly could have....Meredith had to go in his place.

Think about that. He had no desire to see what his beloved daughter had been exposed to. No curiosity whatsoever. He just accepted it. He was done. No looking back. IMO.

His sis in law helped LE in any way they asked. She didn't lawyer up, she didn't hide, she was willing to go to the house with them. She went to the sheriff's department many times, whenever they asked. It's all in testimony.

What puzzles me is why he NEEDED her number written down.
Would it not be IN his phone contacts, already programmed?

But Michelle didn't think that. He was trying to get rid of the baby IMO. Also, didn't he ask her to get something in the back which forced her to unbuckle her seat belt and that was where the suspicion was? It has been a long while since I followed this case. MO

Another witness testified JY pressured MY to abort. She refused. Same daughter he later handed over to avoid a depo & psych eval.

I initially thought it was too much of a coincidence too until I learned more about how he had told MF at least a week prior of his plans to buy her a purse added to the fact that he was in recent frequent contact with her as she acted as their mediator. Then to me it doesn't seem out of the ordinary. He was trying to win MF and LF over with this gift. I believe it was more about pleasing them than pleasing MY.

About that purse. So much talk to so many people about the purse. He missed his anniversary because he was with his girlfriend. Three weeks later we are to believe that he really cared about getting just the right bag? Baloney. And bringing MF in as a mediator? Burdening her with it? A single woman? Why not go to a marriage counselor? Have you ever heard the phrase keep your friends close and your enemies closer? IMO, he played her.

There was time to do both. The police came sometime after he had arrived and was laying down with his daughter in the back room.

Jason's priority was to comfort his daughter. It was late, he'd had a long day, his wife had been murdered, and anything the police needed could wait until the following day. Investigators knew this, but their priority was to confiscate the vehicles and contents, and pin Jason to a story. Investigators desperately wanted Jason's story so that they could focus on undermining that story. Their priority was not the child, and not the grieving husband. Jason was their suspect and they had no respect for anyone or anything. They wanted to force Jason to do what they wanted, and if he didn't do what they wanted, they intended to go to the media and make their complaints heard loud and clear.

Jason is presumed innocent. He left his family alive and well. Michelle's friend can testify to this. When Jason returned, his wife had been murdered.

He cut the lawn because he was expecting his father in law to visit the following day. Later that evening he learned that his father in law would not be visiting. We have to believe that although he made all sorts of plans during the day in anticipation of this visit, he then completely switched plans and decided to murder his wife. Even though it appears that he liked and respected his father in law, who had a terminal illness, he decided to murder the daughter of this dying man whom he liked and respected.

How do we know he did it because his father in law was coming? MY can't corroborate that. Did he tell SS that? Or was this his testimony on the witness stand?

Should Jason have been curious enough to want to view the scene of the murder? Is that normal? Do families of murdered loved ones want to view the bloody scene because they're curious?

Are you're referring to a time when Michelle and Jason were not married and Michelle was pregnant? It seems to me that under those circumstances, all options are discussed ... or at least they certainly should be. If abortion was discussed, it's neither here nor there because Jason and Michelle decided to not only go forward with the pregnancy, but they also decided to get married - which was not necessary. Clearly they were committed to each other and to starting a family ... so who cares what sort of rumor someone is spreading about the time when they were not married and discussed whether they were ready to start a family.

No way! I don't remember that. Wow.

Wasn't that in the appeal document that was posted a few days ago?

He stated that he would be back for the game on Nov 4 if his father in law was attending ... he made this statement to Schaad before he left for his business trip. Michelle's father phoned after Jason left to say that he would not be attending the party. Therefore, Jason went ahead with his plans to pick up the dresser in Brevard for the new baby's room.
