:sigh:
You are not understanding Justice.
It is not the sound of the hose itself, it is the sound of the water being on and how that sounds within the pipes (but not actually coming OUT of the hose) and how that is heard from inside the house.

But, she was not in the house when she heard it.. !!!!!
It was when she was approaching the house, trying the doors, etc.
Please listen to the testimony I posted, I specifically made an effort to find it, timestamp it and not just say it.....

I wonder if there has ever been a trial or trials where there has been so much controversy. I almost wish for the Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias threads when everyone was on the same side!

Have you seen the hose in relationship to the back door she attempted to enter? It was right there!

MF testified that the door was never locked and that the day that she was at the house a week prior, she entered through the garage, knowing it was broken.

I think the garage door had been broken for quite a while.

If they weren't in the habit of locking that door into the garage, it probably slipped Michelle's mind to do so. She had a lot on her plate. I still think the intruder came in through the patio door while Michelle walked Shelly to her car.

They found the patio door unlocked and they evidently found Franklin shoe prints on the deck. I believe there also was testimony that Jason had heard noises previously. I have to wonder if those noises were heard around the time the deck was stained and that's why prints were seen in the stain?

The intruder had visited before, imo.

I found the exact testimony of MF . She says that she heard the sound of the hose running, not on full blast, but lightly running and she makes the noise.

June 8th, 2011.

Thank you for linking this. I had forgotten how poised and composed MF was on the witness stand. At 42 minute mark she talks about ascending the stairs and what the carpet looked like to the right. Covered with blood (my words). We have not seen those photos. MOO.

So in fact she saw the hose dripping. Why would she want to emphasize hearing it when she saw it?

I'd still like to know more facts about the length of time the garage door was broken. When MF testified going in by the garage door the week before, did she say if it was day or night and whether the Youngs were at home?

It was day and she spoke to Jason in the driveway. I believe he was with Carolyn S.

Good thoughts. That would make sense since Shelly felt like they were being watched.

She said she heard the dog when she went to the front door. She "heard" the hose when she went to the rear garage door. The dog was not a barker. She said he was "whimpering". (you know that I don't think he was in the house at all)

The people entrance to the garage is maybe 10-12 feet from the leaking hose. Why would Meredith even mention that she heard it? If she went to the rear garage door, and her eyes were open, she would see it.

Seeing something means it is seen and heard. Hearing something suggests that it wasn't seen.

I'm still wondering if the claim about "hearing" the water is supposed to support the theory that the perp spent some time with the hose.

Nothing like testimony to get to the facts. Jason and Meredith talked on the phone right after he got to Brevard that afternoon!! Why has it been said a million times over that he never asked questions or inquired what happened to Michelle or asked about CY?

I just finished watching her testimony from the first trial--thanks for posting it:)

I found it interesting that, at the funeral, either MF or LF said loud enough for SS to hear that they were going to "get" JY and LF said that it would be best for them just grab CY and take off.

In the first trial, she stated that she told the detectives about the hose after they told her to think real hard and try to remember, lol.

< respectfully snipped>

MF says she never looked to see if it was a hose, she only heard the water...
And, she said the back yard gate was open when she got there.

No, she never saw the hose.

I think we might need a refresher course before the next trial begins, so many things have been posted wrong.

That's a good question. We have always known that Jason and Meredith spoke after the murder because she invited him to stay at her house with his daughter. There is no question that he had an opportunity to speak with her about what she saw at the crime scene.

Thanks. That makes more sense. There is no reason for someone to look at a dripping hose and then later claim that they heard it. I suspect that "hearing" the hose is supposed to tie into the police theory that the hose was not running when Michelle's friend was visiting.

It doesn't add up. If she was in the back yard at the garage door, then she was standing within feet of the hose. I think she is mixed about about what she saw prior to discovering the murder.

I understand that she stated that she didn't see the hose, but if she heard a hose running and looked directly in front of her as she came around the corner to check the garage door, she had to see the hose.

I tried getting my feet into a pair of athletic shoes that were two sizes smaller and there was no way.

He could have just held it in his hand, placed it in blood and then made a print on the pillow case or sheets. He wouldn't have to actually be wearing the size 10 shoes.

We found out later on they were all headed back to Raleigh, but I didn't know how the plans were made to go to Meredith's.....or that Jason had actually spoken with Meredith on the phone. I thought I knew this case pretty good, but now I am remembering the Casey Anthony trial was going on at the same time as this first trial, so I did miss a lot..

To capture a screen shot, you can hit the Prt Scn key on the keypad (usually above the number pad). If using a laptop, you may have to hold the Fcn key, and then hit the Prt Scn key. That copies the image. You can open a word doc, and then right click --> paste, or type Control V to paste.

After that, I don't know about saving the image. I always paste straight into Photoshop. You can paste the image into any image editing software ... create a new file, and paste.

It might be slightly different with a MAC ... window key instead of Control key?

To post the image, scroll down in the comment to the "attachment" option. Let me know if that helps.

FYI - on a Mac you can hit Shift+Command+4 and it will bring up a cursor for taking a screen shot that will be automatically saved. :)
