Moo..na I respect her privacy...if she gives her name...which I am sure has already been found. Then people start going through her social media and her families n friends included. My family is not on my friends list...just because I read here on WS....moo

I parented a sleep walker and I still do not see this as possible. IMO. She was 3 when she started and will still do wild things in her sleep. Even walk. it is more rare now . She is 11 .
My exp was that ,she would be asleep but walking but more in a nodded out way. She would get stuck in a place sometimes like on a wall or furniture, and she talked . I could tell her to go back to bed and she would go.. it was wild. It was never quite. She ran into stuff. She would sit straight up in her sleep and ask a question then fall right out. No known issues at all. Perfect little kid.
The wildest thing our son did was actually hilarious. Late one night hubby and I and our neighbour friends were sitting in the living room hanging out, partying , on a weekend night. ...

Our 9 yr old walks in to the room, quietly, looking straight ahead. He walks across the room and into the far corner, and stops at the potted palm plant, and then begins to get ready to pee into the pot, as if it was the toilet bowl... 🫣

Hubby ran over quickly and guided him into the bathroom safely. lol.

I see your point, about how 'nodded out' sleepwalkers can be. Kind of semi-conscious type thing.

They could walk out an unlocked door I suppose, but wouldn't get very far, imo.

I hear ya. But if my 10yo were missing, especially overnight, you could comb through my life and make fun of it all you want, you could rip off my right arm and feed it to jackals - just find my kid.

But, everyone is different.

I feel everything strange about this missing boy. There isn't enough information. Is he on the spectrum? Has he ran away before? Does he wear pajamas often when he goes out? Does he have friends? Who saw him last? Is he adventurous and curious?

The letter from Mom was better than nothing, I guess.

I think of Harley Dilly, missing from Ohio in 2020. Many many people thought the worst of his mom, and after he was missing for 20 days they found him in a chimney. Because of that case, I reserve judgement and suspicions until we know more.

Where are you, Jayden?

I don't know what to think about this. Would a 10 yr old boy run away in his pajama pants?

Who runs away the night before school starts? Only kids who really have anxiety about school I guess.

But maybe the parents were anxious because everyone expected their son to arrive at school the next morning?
This is what I fear.

She might be scared that if her identity is known it can put her and her family in danger. Especially if there are other children. Maybe English is not her first language and wrote the letter as well as she could.

I don't know that we are allowed to speculate about any diagnosis, but I'll just say...
I have three nephews around JS age (10-14). Their interests and clothes and hobbies are considered quite "juvenile" - cartoons, super heroes, etc compared to other kids their age. They also smile similarly to JS... like it doesn't quite come as naturally as it may for others.
Maybe or maybe not off topic my nephews all happen to be autistic.

The pessimist in me finds it interesting for an entirely different reason: Was today going to be the first time someone outside of his household saw him in a while? (I'm wondering if he's been missing longer than reported.)

This is all very much MOO. I haven't seen any solid reasons to suspect foul play.
I wonder if Jayden had his school supplies, backpack, new clothes for the new school year.

It would be very Interesting to see what and when mom last bought a "back to school item".

So he reportedly was wearing matching Hedge Hog pajamas when he went missing.

If he decided to run away, wouldn't he throw on some sweat pants and a hoodie or something, instead of kiddie pjs?

But apparently his pjs were not found at home? If he did actually leave his home in the middle of the night in his pajamas, that is very concerning. What was so urgent?

It niggles at me and makes it hard to believe, imo.
I fear the worst in this case but just wanted to say that in my experience parenting, many kids at this age would rather wear PJs all day rather than change clothes. Maybe it is a result of the lack of transition they experienced during day to day life during covid lockdown in 2020. JMO

My 10yo wouldn't go outside in pajamas. I think it varies a lot from kid to kid.

we don’t know if he’s done this before. Maybe he just wanted to go,outside to play for a bit, do they have a garden? He wouldn’t change clothes, to go to their garden to play.

If he didn’t want to make noise and wake up others, he wouldn’t want to change his clothes.

If he was wearing day clothes , we would all be asking ,why he was not wearing PJ's .
It was 930 at night ish.
Did he take Shoes? Thats the tell ,or at least it says something.

My kids would totally leave the house in pjs at that age.
You know right now at any given high school there are teenagers wearing PJ pants like they are actual pants. LOL I have one of them and as I drop her off at school and look around there are teens everywhere wearing plaid PJ pants. 🤣
