If my preteen ran away, as they're saying Jayden did (left in the middle of the night and doesn't qualify for an Ian Alert = runaway, IMO), I think I would address him directly... but I'm not going to judge this mother for not handling the situation exactly the way I would. We clearly live very different lives, and I have no idea what she's thinking right now.

(I do question a lot of her other choices, obviously.)

I don't think he would have any means of seeing it.

I think it's a guess, too, and tbh, I don't think the detail matters that much. I was an attentive mom and I didn't know my kids' heights by heart.

If someone sees a kid who looks like Jayden, it will be by his looks and age, not exact height.

We need more info about the case.

Who was the last person to see JS other than mom and step-dad?

My first thought when I see stories like this is that the child may be autistic, and a "runner" who is attracted to water.

Agree, I thought of other preteens who have gone into the night
A 10 yr old could be not yet diagnosed with autism

The note seems addressed to the public to be on the lookout
No plea as if someone took him

It was mentioned that he was wearing PJs with Sonic the hedgehog
What about shoes- are his SHOES missing?

Anything else gone, a dog, snacks, backpack, water bottle, cap, pillow, game??
Was there an argument?

What is he reading? or shows he is watching? Interests?
I went out at night in the rural area as a kid to watched the stars

Wow, that area is rural, forest in every direction
Black bear, coyotes
Evidently no mountain lions in KY
Do they have wild dogs packs?

Jayden’s mother, Felicia Spicer—also known as Felicia Gross—has a previous charge related to child endangerment.

Although she initially provided a handwritten statement to authorities expressing heartbreak and pleading for help, she has since requested privacy and asked that her identity not be publicly shared.

However, records confirm her prior involvement in a child endangerment case, which is now drawing additional public scrutiny amid the ongoing search

I think, sadly, LE already knows what happened to him and are just gathering evidence and not wanting a potential crime scene compromised. JMO

I agree. IMO I think something happened weeks or even months ago and the only reason he was reported missing is because school was starting and he wouldn't be attending. I hope I'm very very wrong here though.

JACKSON, Ky. (August 8, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police Post 13, Hazard, is continuing the investigation into the disappearance of 10-year-old Jayden Spicer. Organized search efforts have thoroughly searched all areas of priority and continue to exhaust all resources at their disposal.

Kentucky State Police have utilized numerous agency and partnership resources available, including aircraft, drone, K-9, Sonar, Fleer, and “boots on the ground” search efforts. At this time KSP will broaden its investigation and explore other areas in an effort to locate Jayden.

We are asking the public to remain alert and report any information on the whereabouts of Jayden Spicer to Kentucky State Police, Post 13 in Hazard. We can be reached at 606-435-6069. Citizens can also provide information be using the Tip Line on the Kentucky State Police website, www.kentuckystatepolice.ky.gov/tip.

I've waited to see more in depth of behind the scenes before saying anything. IMHO I don't believe the story he just got up and left considering Mom had been involved in an Endangered child case. I think something happened to that child because 1. why would you wait until almost 10am to report your child missing, 2 how can you not hear a noisy 10 year old kid shut the door while leaving? Now my question would be is why was Mom involved in an Endangered Child case and what had happenedd for that type of case to be open on her.

Paraphrasing from article (thanks for sharing) the aunts advised that he doesn't like insects and would not go out at night in that area. This is unfortunately becoming more and more clear. MOO

This post was made on August 7th, so I think we're all in agreement that school started on the 7th, which is the day after Jayden was reported missing. If school had started on the 6th, surely someone would have gotten him up before 9:30!

To clarify, when I said this yesterday, I was thinking that he may have been reported missing on the 6th because someone realized he was supposed to be going back to school on the 7th. MOO
