"Went to the place that her kid was sleeping"?????? Huh?
That caught my eye, too. I'm guessing that means he didn't have a bedroom, maybe not even a bed. ☹️ MOO

That's what I was wondering as well !
Aww, the poor child.
It's sad when some members of the public and LE seem to be putting more effort into finding Jayden, than those who should be frantic.
Just thinking out loud.
Imo.

Could just be the neighbor doesn’t have a great way with words. There’s little primary source information on this situation, so anyone talking can easily be misconstrued.

He’s such cute little boy! And it sounds like his mom was very upset from what the neighbor said when she came to borrow a phone to call 911. It’s possible the mom’s phone was broken, or she didn’t have service to call. I feel badly if people are assuming the worst about the mom because the family may be poor. Being poor is not a crime.

Hey guys, just a quick heads up

LINKS and REFERENCING OUTSIDE SOURCES

Websleuths is fact based. Rumors and conspiracy theories are not allowed. Do not link to them and do not mention them.

Information stated as fact must be supported by a link to a mainstream media or law enforcement source (or other WS approved source) to substantiate the fact, otherwise the post will be removed, along with all responses to it. If the information is only your opinion, please make that clear in your post so that opinions do not become rumors attributed to Websleuths as the source.

NOTE: Blanket disclaimers in signatures that posts are your opinion are not allowed because some members have signatures turned off, and signatures are not visible to guests or members who are not logged in.

Quoting an outside source is allowed when the content is intended to substantiate a post. Examples are a snipped portion of a mainstream media (MSM) news article or a legal or scholarly article. While Websleuths does not prohibit quotes from sources outside of WS, we reserve the right to remove the quote and link if the source is deemed inappropriate. Random blogs and podcasts are not allowed without prior approval by a Mod or Admin.

NOTE: When quoting an outside source, a link to the source must be included in the post. The same rule applies to posting images. All images require a link to the source.

When discussing video content, a link must be provided to the source and also include an approximate timestamp so that other members and Websleuths staff don't have to wade through hours of content to find what is being discussed.

If you aren't sure a source is approved, please jump off any post with the Report feature to ask before posting. Don't post "Mods please delete if not allowed". Mods are not sitting in each and every one of the hundreds of active threads to see your post. It may not be seen for weeks or never, meanwhile it has introduced non-approved information into the discussion, requiring massive cleanups or thread closures.

State Senator Brandon Smith is one of several searching for the little boy missing in an area he represents.

Senator Smith shared videos of some of the places he spent Sunday searching for the little boy, looking through rundown and abandoned homes.

“We were getting into places that had not been hit, I think, previously before, but when you call into the house and you are calling this little boy’s name Jayden and you are looking and you are not sure what you are going to find,” Smith said.

It is heartbreaking work looking through trash piles and hoping to find any clue, Senator Smith says, as to where Jayden might be. His search included dump sites off the beaten path.

So true, no one knows at this point what Jayden's life was like or his mom's, or how they were doing after he moved back home when his great grandma who he was living with passed (links upthread), what they were going through, or what the circumstances were like in their home life.

Many people living in the US don't have access to internet and/or cell phone coverage at their home, eapecially if living rurally and/or not able to afford these types of services you have to pay for out of your own pocket, it depends on their circumstances and location.

AFAIK in Jayden and his mother's case from what LE has said or not said, there's no evidence pointing to Jayden's family he was living with when he disappeared not having the means to afford whatever services were needed or ready resources at hand to respond to his disappearance in a way that's "expected".

JMO. Holding out hope he is found soon.

Community rallies with reward to help find missing Breathitt County boy

"Search your surroundings. If you have property near where Jayden lived, search with everything in you. You know, make sure he's not on your property. If you have property you don't go to often, now's the time to go to that property and just look," said Jeff Turner of Jackson.

[…]

"A young child can only survive so long in these conditions. It's really hot out today. If this child doesn't have water, how many days can he survive?" Turner said.

[…]

"It's really hard to explain because this doesn't happen in small communities like this. A missing child, you hear about from large cities. And never somewhere small like Jackson, Kentucky," Turner said.

I was thinking possibly there was a prepaid phone situation and they were out of minutes?

do we have a last confirmed sighting of him from anyone but the mother?

I worry with school being out for the summer something could’ve happened to him weeks prior to him being reported missing - this would then make the search area much bigger as he could’ve been disposed (I hate that word!) Of much further afield 😩

I don't know if it's been as long as weeks, but I don't think he went missing when they say he did. Just a guess, considering all the factors.

I do hope he is found soon. It's distressing to think of him alone somewhere in the elements.

most phones still have 911 access even with no active service / minutes

In the US, 911 works from any cell phone, whether it has service, minutes, or a phone plan.

good point, I forgot that is the case.

My question is, who was present in the home when the family went to bed and who was present the next when it was discovered that Jayden was missing. Is it possible that there is only one shared cell phone and it wasn't present in the home that morning because another household member had it elsewhere?

I have to say, I don't like how little we know this far into the case. JMO

Mom could have also forgotten that was the case, so you could still be right. :)

I am sceptical that both adults in the home and a 10-year-old all went to bed by 9:00 pm.

I am sceptical that two adults didn't have a working phone.

My opinions only.

Sadly, I don’t think this will end well. When was the last time he was seen by someone outside of family? I think he’s been missing longer than a week.
