Among other forces, like the Governor of Colorado's direct involvement in the official investigation, the Ramsey's faced the pleasantries of the paragons of virtue themselves.

Sometimes the targets of these tactics fought back. Another Globe reporter tried to get an interview from JonBenet's former physician about allegations from "sources" claiming the doctor had conspired with the Ramseys to conceal a history of sexual abuse in the family. When the physician refused, the reporter wrote the doctor a letter making it clear that without an interview, the Globe would be forced to print the criminal allegation against him. The doctor promptly reported the incident to the Boulder police department.

1) If the Gov. got involved directly, it's news to me. I wish he had.

2) Fang, could you post the links for these things? I'm never sure what the source is.

Yes! And by the same token people are more than willing to decide someone is guilty because they aren't clergy or good looking or well off. Be honest IDI's: in your minds the killer is some scruffy, scummy perv who has never contributed to society.
I'd like to hear an answer to that, too.

Do the majority believe the Ramseys did it?

Scruffy? No.
Scummy? No.
Perv? Little doubt.
Well off? Yes.
Never contributed to society? How do you mean, in a good way or a bad way? Assuming you mean a good way, I'm sure there may have been something good somewhere along the way.

In my mind, this perp has a military background in a foreign country.

I'd have to ask my_tee_mouse to be sure, but I think the point was been missed.

Nah. m.t. mouse wanted to show that IDI believes the perp is a local low-life, and that is the farthest from my view. The perp is a rich person who has acted violently before and after, under some stupid ideological banner.

On the contrary. It was someone pretty clever.

I think you're showing your own social prejudice here MTM not ours.

I'm pretty open as to who the actual killer/abuser is, but I'm not thinking he was a very nice person, if that's what you mean. Whether you'd pick him for a murder or not if you saw him in the street, I very much doubt.

But as Madeline said, he was someone pretty clever to not have been caught. Perhaps it was just some cunning, audacious pedophile who got lucky. That the BPD were themselves socially prejudiced against rich people and had also seen the statistics on the % of parents who kill their own children was another fortuitous twist of fate in his favour.

I suspect that we'll be quite surprised when we eventually find out who the killer is, because I don't think he's going to seem very clever or devious at all. There are going to be some pretty embarrassed investigators around.

Yep it's either not a clever one but who got lucky because of the BPD actions and if he'll ever get caught the BPD will be pretty embarrassed OR he'll get caught and he turns out to be very clever but being someone who's already in those files and the BPD never bothered to look follow up that lead ,not only will the BPD be EMBARRASSED but they'll got some explaining to do.

The solutions going to be as bizarre as the problem. IOw its not like the person who would write THAT note, and kidnap and kill JBR the way he did in the house while the parents slept, is going to be your average run of the mill criminal burglar pedophile.

What, you don't like my profile of a middle aged male, well off, military ranked foreign revolutionary? That is somewhat different than a middle-aged female from the south, or a scruffy 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 pedo.

I do!
Do you think he's the mastermind(of the SFF)?What was his reason, probably not the 180,000,right?Did he knew John personally?Or was it more something against JR's business? Were they together in the military?

As if the BPD shouldn't be embarrassed enough....

He's the mastermind that may have dictated the RN. His reason wasn't the $118K but publicity. He probably didn't know JR personally, but knew of him. He probably heard about JBR somehow and went for the publicity she would provide. It DID provide publicity, right? Why was this case so popular? I mean, what if this person now claimed responsibility and was able to prove it? What then?

For sure not together in the military though, as they are on opposite sides of the wall.

Might the University in Boulder be a possible source of a SFF (real or not)?

It's different, all right.

But first thing's first. MTM has very plainly illustrated the social prejudices many people have about these things. It's worth pursuing.
