JBR's siblings nowadays.....

Not really aware of the details of the Sheppard case. Was the son ever a suspect? Did the son get any of the tabloid treatment that Burke got?

from what I gather, the father (Dr) was accused of the crime initially. the son wasnt a suspect...

TY. I must read up on that case.

Ty for the story about your brother. Resourceful little soul, wasn't he! Makes a good point about kids and their potential for violence, too.

I'm wondering if he did most, if not everything

any handwriting samples of his?

While he is not obligated to do so, I wish he, like Sam Sheppard's son, would offer press conferences, interviews, answer questions from detectives and lay, etc. I wish he would explain in his own words whether he thinks his parents did it, and whether he thinks the handwriting on the RN matches PR, whether he or his dad could tie a slip-knot, whether IDI and if so, who he thinks or how this IDI may have come to known JB, why he wasn't also killed or kidnapped, etc. Lou Smit and Steve Thomas could both interview him. No lawyers please.

I find it odd that not only Burke...but NOBODY in JB's family....grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. have EVER gone on tv, or made a public plea for JB's killer to be caught. For example..."If there is anybody out there, that knows anything about JonBenet's murder, please...please contact the authorities". Not a word about that was ever uttered...by anyone in her family.

Exactly!! this is what im talking about..seems like they already found closure...
None of them wants to start anything in order to honour her or her memory..
For instance, there are quite a few websites where the families of killers make pleas to the public and claim that the killers are innocent (even though almost all the evidence proves that they are indeed guilty)... i dont want to mention any names, but im sure you guys can find a few online yourself....
So if the families of KILLERS are willing to support them so strongly, how could the family of a VICTIM forget about her so easily...not even a single one of them....makes you think twice, doesnt it...

JONBENET HAS BEEN BETRAYED!!!

Not only betrayed :(
They left her behind under the Christmas tree as soon as they could............:furious:

I know, Madeleine. Am I right in thinking that they claimed that their advisers had told them there was no point in making a larger reward offer since it would make no difference :waitasec:

You know, I've been thinking about this thread this afternoon. While I admit that I have some sympathy for the Ramsey siblings (except possibly one of them) and their reasons for not being the aggressors in the battle over (dis)proving Patsy's innocence, you would think that, given the huge public appetite for seeing this case solved, they would at least keep a website up for JBR tips and leads. I daresay that if they are geuinely hard-up financially and couldn't maintain the site too well they could easily get volunteers to help sort any information for them and send it to LE or to keep the site tidy. I'm guessing that most people on here - RDI or IDI would willingly help.

Hope you are having a lovely weekendxx

I so agree with you.
Makes me think of a certain forum which closed after the R's exoneration........so much for wanting to catch the real killer eh....disgusting..........you know, the only thing that really breaks my heart to tears in this case is imagining JB dead and alone under that Christmas tree.I am a tough cookie,I rarely cry and when I do it it's because I am angry not hurt...........but this image is killing me............

The Ramsey's were cleared,job done ;););)
do you see ANY of them looking for an intruder?
I don't,but maybe I am blind................

and just thinking about what could have been if she was still here..
Ive developed an interest lately in crime, serial killers, child abuse etc..
However, I feel so strongly about Jonbenet, more so than the others...
and i dunno why....

Agree totally. Another thing is that the parents of harmed children tend to be consulted when another child is harmed - eg. Marc Klaas tends to offer advice and join the debate. I know there are hundreds of examples of parents of harmed children who have set up child protection agencies or who regularly help LE or offer support to other parents but Marc always comes to mind. Has a Ramsey ever been involved in this sort of thing? I know John was going to be interviewed for a Madeleine McCann documentary and he was certainly quoted as expressing sympathy for the McCanns. But have they ever been properly involved in child protection work?

Again, I'm not implying anything about this pointing to their guilt or innocence but it doesn't seem to have become the life long crusade it does for other parents.

ETA: I know that a couple of people on here believe that the Ramseys' religion has enabled them to forgive the killer and believe that his being caught won't make any difference to them personally. Certainly, I suspect this is part of their public rationale for their silence.

It is unbearable, Madeleine.

I can't even put M.Klaas or Mr.Lunsford in the same sentence with JR.

*Applause*

The part of ITRMI where Steve Thomas says that 'Miss America is the least she could have been' is more poignant than anything I've ever read.

Re the reward...........there are so many people out there who killed their spouses, kids for the insurance money....now let's be honest........maybe you wouldn't turn your suspicious husband, partner, brother in for 100.000..........but what about ...let's say 1.5M?Hm?

I wouldn't have made jokes re the reward.....but I guess it shows again who we're dealing with?I wouldn't have cared about what some lawyers advise me.

I think she would have been very smart, and she would have been doing well in college right now.maybe she would have been a Ms America..she might have felt for Patsy having cancer, and kept up the pageants while she was sick and in her honor afterwards.(for as long as she could, perhaps helping others with it as well).I picture her as someone who would have been very compassionate, doing volunteer work and always thinking of others.
whatever anger Patsy had at her that say,it's a shame she couldn't see past it and that JB wasn't able to live to become an adult and be all she could have been.

i agree with you JMO8778... with a charismatic personality like that, the sky would have been the limit...

Well, after all- they already knew what happened.

I would like to see Burke under the hot seat, cross-examined, hell Oprah or Larry King would be enough and depending on how convincing he answers, facial expressions body language,

if I feel he seems untruthful in answering the question "Did your parents kill your sister", "is this your mother's handwriting" "do you believe an intruder killed your sister" "was there sexual abuse of your sister" "what do you know what happened that night?" "do you think the intruder will be caught" "have you ever worried this intruder might come back to kill you?" "did you ever worry that your parents might kill you?"

I would change sides and join the Dark Side w/SD. The RDI Sith Team.
:truce:
He obviously has inside information (which could work either way)

I don't know who the best interrogation person is in the business but whoever that person(s) is, I'd like him grill Burke. A polygraph would also be helpful. Video tape it, create a transcript, and post it on youtube.

I hope that the RDIST is open to the possibility that polygraph and interrogation of Burke might produce evidence of truthfulness in the other direction.
