Jian Ghomeshi, well known, well respected radio host fired for Sexual Assault

Wonder if any from the BDSM scene will step forward to defend his tendencies?

The Teddy Bear aspect is really creepy.

Does anyone think this dude had more than the known alleged assaults going on?

Any further crimes he may be linked to?

I highly doubt anyone will try to defend his actions from that community because there's simply no defending it.

My understanding is that the bdsm community is built on foundations of consent, with quite a few ground rules, and obviously Jians actions were all about his own sick need to assault women without their consent.

U.S. newspaper scrambles after printing Ghomeshi profile that didn't mention dismissal

"A Pittsburgh newspaper was left scrambling to explain on Sunday why a profile of former CBC radio host Jian Ghomeshi was reprinted in a promotional supplement without mentioning the abuse allegations that led to his termination.

A profile of Ghomeshi was on the front page of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette promotional supplement that was sent to non-subscribers of the paper on Sunday."
...

A CBC memo issued last week said Ghomeshi was terminated after senior executives saw "graphic evidence that Jian had caused physical injury to a woman."

So what happened? Did he not have a lawyer, or did he get bad advice? A lawyer that is worth anything would have known that the media cannot come out with a story that damaging without any sources, and there were no sources for the story. Did the marketing company get it all wrong, forget about the law, and decide to "get ahead of the story" when there was no story?

Between the lawyer and the marketing company, someone really screwed up and dropped the ball when they allowed Jian to tell his story through a facebook post. I think Jian needs to re-consider who he should be suing, because from where I'm sitting, I think it should be either the law firm, or the marketing firm. One of those two parties gave him very bad advice ... most likely the marketing firm. Perhaps that's why the marketing firm dropped him. If they wrote the facebook content and told him to post it, they are the party that led to public knowledge of his actions with women.

I'm not saying that what Jian did should be kept quiet, but there are several angles to this story, and clearly one of them is why this information became public information - as it was the publicity that led to his permanent downfall. If he had kept quiet, he could have moved on to another station and continued in his career.

He either is so deluded that he believes his own lies, or so arrogant that he believed he could simply explain his behavior away as kink and get away with it.

I doubt he has grounds to sue because something tells me he went and posted everything to Facebook on his own, and showed CBC the video on his own, without consulting his advisors. I am betting his arrogance and self delusion led him to think the world would believe him. To some extent in the first milliseconds before the true extent of the conduct was known, he was almost right...

Well, for that matter, in showing contempt for music lovers, it's no worse than their, say, "King of Spain."

Perhaps they could repackage that musical abomination as "King of 'Splain," as Jian has a lot of 'splaining to do.

True enough. He brought video to his employer that left them with no doubt that there was "graphic evidence that Jian had caused physical injury to a woman." He believed that this would clear his name, but instead he made it crystal clear to his employer that he likes to beat up women. Perhaps he's lost touch with what is acceptable and what is not. When you think about it, either he knew it was wrong but he believed that he could tell his employers how to interpret what they saw, or he simply doesn't see anything wrong with beating up women.

Here's an article about the origin of the video

"A video of Jian Ghomeshi singing a song after a 1996 concert, saying his fans make him "sick" and he'd like to beat them with a "big stick," has surfaced online.

In the video, which was posted over the weekend, a long-haired Ghomeshi is seen playing the piano as he sings and improvises the lyrics of a song after a 1996 Moxy Fruvous concert in Buffalo. In the video, Ghomeshi, who at the time was the lead singer of the satirical pop group, is often laughing and smiling.

"All my fans make me sick. All my fans are very thick. I'd love to beat them with a ******ing big stick. This is my schtick," he sings, before he abandons the piano while laughing.
...
Buffalo resident David Yuhnke said his friend recorded the video after the Moxy Fruvous concert on Nov. 2, 1996."

I think that, with respect, the diagnosis of 'narcissism' gets thrown around a bit (or way) too much on Websleuths, but this incident is likely one of the most glaring examples of a narcissist I've ever seen.
