During their health struggles the pair leaned on each other for support and grew closer as a result.

'When Jimmy found out [I had cancer] he brought the whole family and the dogs to Montana to be with me,' she told People magazine in a new interview.

'Jimmy and I became closer because of our cancers. We talked before and after our scans. We shared a club that nobody wants to join,' she said.

Thanks for posting that photo of Jimmy with his sister. It is nice to know he had a good sibling relationship and that they could shares experiences about their treatment.

This makes me feel better.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and articles. As you all might guess, I am one very sad parrot head.

His concerts were the best! I was able to go to a fair amount of them and planned on continuing to go. I’m sad that there won’t be anymore. Such a positive guy.

I agree. It is hard to believe there will be no more concerts.

South Park, I don’t care for it but I would have liked to have seen that blender episode. He must have been so much fun to be at home with. A bright light wherever he was. This is a lovely tribute from his daughter.

Who would have thought 30 years ago I'd be mourning the late Queen Elizabeth II and Jimmy Buffet at the same time.

Couldn’t be more opposite of hot tea and frozen margaritas for beverage of choice!

Both were equally wonderful and positive individuals, bringing many smiles to people around the world.

Cheers to both

That photo is 1977, their wedding at Redstone Castle outside of Carbondale, Colorado
A few townies and local musicians had great stories from the 3 day event

New snail species found off Keys, named "margarita snail" in honor of Buffett
Researchers have discovered a new species of bright-yellow "margarita" snail hiding in plain sight on a coral reef in the Florida Keys. The tiny invertebrate, which lacks a traditional snail shell, can shoot out toxic mucus webs.

The newfound species, named
Cayo margarita as an homage to the late Jimmy Buffett, was discovered on Florida's Coral Reef, the only barrier reef system in the United States. The vibrant hue of the snail and its close proximity to the Florida coastline inspired researchers to name the snail after "Margaritaville," the song by Buffett, who died on Sept. 1.
