:waitasec: Wait? Mormons don't drink coffee? Are you serious or being facetious?:seeya::blushing:

Serious. No coffee, no tea. There is some debate if herbal tea is permissible. No alcohol. (that makes more sense but some will not even cook with it) The rules are called "The Word of Wisdom". JA mentioned it in her testimony (I think Wed) She and TA were talking about it outside of Starbucks and she said she would have trouble giving up coffee. Or something to that effect.

My In-Laws were so strange about "the appearance of evil", when we went to Dennys with them one time they turned their coffee cups upside down. They could have just said No thank you to the waitress when she asked them if they wanted coffee.

That's all. Nitenite.

I don't know? People make connections to things for various reasons. And this case has been in the media so much it's almost impossible not to see a blip about it when you turn on the t.v. or the newspaper. I think it interests some people because it's rare (although getting less rare) that a woman commits such a horrible and brutal crime. Also too, for some reason women seem to get away with their crimes more often then men - especially if they are young and attractive. That adds a whole 'nuther layer of interest - for me any way. I can't speak for anyone else. I personally don't believe in her self defense story. I think Jodi is evil, and if let free - she could possibly harm others. If she gets off, I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but I will be disappointed in the jury.

I agree with all of that. It's high profile, interesting, unusual, etc., etc. and I won't lose sleep if she gets away with it. Really, that's all I was driving at. It seemed to me that the majority of posters are heavily invested in the dp or lwop in this particular case, when there are SO many others where it's equally justified or more so. On that note, sleep tight :)

I literally lol'd at your arm pooting!!

Thx for the post. It's been a long, tough road as I'm sure many of us have experienced, but as for the SOB, well...all I know is that my father (ex-FBI) assured me one time that my abuser will NEVER be back to bother me again. Don't know exactly what that means for sure, but I know better than to ask ;)

You are so fortunate to have a caring father.

Well, I know that I have always gotten on better with boys/men than with women. I was closer with dad and brother growing up and made friends easier with guys.

But I like sports and other "guy" stuff so figured that was part of it.

I do know that girls were always even meaner to me because I got on better with boys. I guess they assumed I was some threat when in reality I was practicing armpit poots and playing football with them rather than doctor, lol!

ETA: i hate that you were hurt by someone you loved and trusted. :(.

I thought I began my post with that and was ashamed to find it not there when I posted. :(. I hope the SOB is still behind bars!

Same here. I get along fine with girls a lot more as an adult. I wasn't into sports but I've always had a lot of guy friends I think because I'm a guitar player and there just wasn't a lot of girl guitar players around growing up. And even though I am very much a girly-girl and love fashion and make up and things girls like - I got a lot of ridicule in school for being a girl guitar player - mostly from other girls. They were mean to me and didn't understand (or where jealous? who knows really?) why I would be sitting around with boys playing music - so I totally know where you are coming from. But as an adult I would say my ratio of guy and girl friends are about the same, but I really had to work my way into other girls lives along the way. Especially with my fellow musicians girlfriends - but once they got to know me all was OKAY :)

katie please bottle some of that up and blow it my way!

we are under a blizzard warning and I have a fire lit and the salt and shovels at the ready..

I would LOVE SOME FRESH AIR right now (insert spring icon and little birdie singing icon)

Lol, I'd like some "warmer" weather, too! I've been pretty envious reading about all the melted chocolate and warm breezes, open patio doors, etc!

Here up north, my fav coffee shop had these 90 degree bent icicles today. They look cool, but....brrr. A bit breezy. We're gonna get a foot of fresh snow this weekend, too. So, to all the warmer climate sleuthers, this is what you're missing, lol! :)

Bent icicles!? Very cool! Is that from the wind? I live in Florida so you must explain why they are bent lol!

I'd like to request express shipping with my order please!! Thank you!! (and would you be so kind as to refrain from including any chocolates in the box?!)

LOL! I'll be sure not to add any chocolate. :)

Yup. We warmed up to the 20's today and everything got slushy and messy. When it's windy and warm in the winter (lol-- warm!), you can get bent icicles. The kids were fascinated!

Boiling water tossed up turns to fog/ snow when it's below zero fahrenheit, and a banana left outside overnight will be hard enough to drive a nail.

The credit card readers at the outside pumps are verrrry sluggish when it's below zero, too. And if you leave anything liquid in your car (like a pen!) it will freeze solid.

(I'm not native to this climate, so I whine sometimes.....just a little.)

Ok, now that I know no gunmen on the loose are lurking outside my door, I can hit the hay. Thanks for the laughs tonite guys. I can't wait to get my jacket and form a posse. And guess what? We all get to wake up tomorrow and not have to endure another day of The JA Show. TGIF!

I'm glad to know the neighborhood is no longer on lock-down. That is scary stuff.

I may take a mental health break tomorrow and not turn on anything re: the trial other than checking in here for a bit.

g'nite.

I spent several hours with Elisha after court yesterday. I don't understand what your question is?

Did you know JA was a wedding photographer?

I think it is really strange.

Did JA know about Elisha and decide to become a photographer?

I do not know any wedding photographers in real life, so to have two connected to one person, TA seems strange to me

Um, my "friend" left a box of Girl Scout cookies in her car for an hour this week and they melted. (It wasn't even that warm out, just sun shining on the car.) I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

She did like Jodi and stuck them in the freezer. Ate the chocolate off the wrapper like exquisite little appetizers...yum! :innocent:
How'd she get Girl Scout cookies already??? We don't get them 'till Sunday.

It's my understanding that the term 'psychopath' is meant to represent a broader, less constrictive, set of symptoms than APD alone - they simply share some correlations. To my mind any of the cluster B disorders (or comorbid) could be a psychopath. Hare states many psychopaths have antisocial personality disorder but not everyone who has APD is a psychopath. One study some may find interesting:
First, the consistency of our findings across two samples characterized by relatively low and high base rates of psychopathy, respectively, suggests that these associations are valid for women exhibiting symptoms at different extremes of the spectrum. Second, results indicate that BPD and psychopathy share a significant constellation of traits in women—potentially more so than in men—and, accordingly, that the two disorders may reflect gender-differentiated phenotypic expressions of similar dispositional vulnerabilities. While we acknowledge that the two disorders are likely not identical (given different symptom clusters in BPD and psychopathy, such as self-harm vs. chronic antisociality/violence, respectively), the current findings support the idea of a BPD-variant of psychopathy in women, reminiscent of the secondary psychopathic variant validated decades ago in men

How'd she get Girl Scout cookies already??? We don't get them 'till Sunday.

We've had ours since January 25th. For whatever reason they changed the sales practice this year. The girls had to order by the boxed inventory (wholesale). In other words, the cookie parent placed the online order for number of sealed boxes (20 to a box - I think?).

They gave the girls a week to get pre-orders and were expected to sale all of the overages (which we chose not to order overages this year - we're tired of it, all of us moms).

Strange, right?

This quote from your post "and the real problem with murder in America lies extremely elsewhere, imo". What did you mean by that? That is my question.

I'm just guessing. But I think it might be along the lines of the hundreds of young inner city kids slaughtered for no apparent reason. Sometimes 20, or 30 kids die in Chicago or Detroit, and none of them even make the papers or the news.

I sat amazed looking at those icicles and wondering how in the world they got so crooked like that. They almost look like some kind of skeleton bones hanging there, lol! I'm still in amazement and wonder because we are lucky to get snow and/or ice here in Texas 2 or 3 days a year. Very cool pic, but I hope ya'll get a little heatwave coming from our way to warm things up. It was 80 degrees here yesterday! :what: I want a little more winter before we have to start running the A/C in a couple of months.
