Katie,
I really enjoy your posts and hang on every word. I've seen you on Dr. Drew and you and the other Katie do such a wonderful job describing what goes on in the courtroom. Thank you! I just over at the ABC site watching video clips of the trial. I posted above my reaction to what Nancy Grace said about women at the jail believing Jodi killed out of self defense. Please tell me that you haven't not encountered the same beliefs from women at the courthouse! It floors me that anyone could buy Jodi's story. I know they are out there...but many? Nancy said she ran into "many". Boogles the mind!

Nancy talked to a bunch of inmates in the jail in a restricted area bonded with Jodi listening to her rehearse her story for 4 years.

For me, enough said.

PS One of them thought the defendant cut up his body and deposited it all over the desert. So there's that too.

Call me crazy or whatever you want...I think she is going to get sympathy from that jury and no, I dont think it's right but she is good and dont beat me up I've watched many trials and have common sense..

Thanks. Enough for me too, then. I stopped watching Nancy's show years ago!

i think here as in any trial there will be things that because the victim is no longer able to speak for themselves - that at some point you need to pick who you believe - the defendant, experts, victims friends and character witnesses, etc. - based on your gut, your opinion of some ones truthfulness, etc - and i think this is one of those times -

and imo jodi is a proven liar and story teller, compared to a friend of TA who seems that the were close,(which was confirmed by some one who was at the trial and spoke w/ her) and did know TA wasn't a perfect man, but did know his character
so my conclusion in this case based on every thing i have seen - is that i do believe TA's friend and what she knows about what his actions would be, as compared to the story that was told today

until every one is embedded w/ a video camera in their head that monitors our every move - nothing can ever be proven 100% - so this is the only we can ever proceed and make decisions

Personally, I do not see what when they had sex has to with anything. It spices it up for people who are interested in that kind of thing.

But what does it have to do with her stewing for a period of time, devising a "foolproof" plan, and killing him?

So if they had sex 95 times a day and extra on Sundays after church, what does that have to do with killing him?

I really like Nancy and I guarantee she doesn't think this chick will walk. Maybe she's got a little PTSD (like many) from that other case she followed so closely.

I like Nancy, too. I just don't like her show. Too over the top for me.

imo - i think the reason this particular time was important was doing that right after her baptism is to really ruin any credibility that TA had concerning an respect to his religion, and that in her description, it made it appear equivalant to rape - forcing her to perform anul sex against her will after she claimed she had said no to previous request - in this story she claimed he just bent her over - did w. out asking or telling her this was what he was going to do - until she was in so much pain she had to tell him to stop

i think this story wasn't just told to be another romp in the hay - but instead a crafted story to do the most damage to TA's reputation and morality as possible - imo

Totally Off Topic

I was catching up on this morning's testimony and remembered someone said the attorney/guest who I really love on IS David Otunga is Jennifer Hudson's husband so I went a-googlin before bed and found this picture. I am headed to bed with a smile. You know J-Hud is a homicide victim's family as well so his commentary is so much more meaningful to me.

Enjoy. What a stunning pair. :)

I'm still catching up here, but I just watched an ABC news clip with Dan Abrams, George Staphanopolous (sp?) and Nancy Grace. I was stunned what Nancy said at the end! She said that she is afraid the defense is going to work! She said she ran into so many women at the jail that sympathized with Jodi and believed she murdered out of self defense! Now granted...these were probably inmates or family of inmates, but still - this kinda shocks me. I believe with all I have that JA premeditated Travis' murder and it was NOT self defense.

These are not critical thinkers. And pretty biased. As well as pretty criminal. Who cares what the inmates have to say? Nancy is dramatising. Shame on her.

Aren't they a beautiful couple!

Jennifer singing at the Super Bowl Sunday with the students of the Sandy Hook Elementary Chorus was extra special for that reason!

unless jodi got one of her criminal disciples to pull of that theft of the prosecutions key witness' computer today ??? :(
or that if she can svengali all her other inmates in prison and ends up w/ disciples and she doesn't end up w/ the proper type of prison experience she deserves

i think the worst thing punishment they could give for her in prison would be to keep her in isolation 23 hours a day like they do w/ most hi profile defendants - so she wouldn't have any one to tell her sob story too and can't manipulate any one to give her sympathy or the attention she craves

See, I think that's interesting because to me she's very ordinary. I believe other psychopaths have been much more charismatic and charming. She comes across as dull in comparison really. Of course the psychopaths I'm comparing her against are mostly men who, statistically speaking, are more likely to be held to a higher standard by a jury.

I take a lot of comfort though in the fact that Caylee's case is an anomaly and the overwhelming majority of mothers accused of murdering their child are convicted. (I usually follow filicide cases.) It is trending, or at least beginning to trend, that women aren't immediately discounted as being incapable of violence.

I believe if it were only her testimony there may be an issue but there is more than enough evidence proving premeditation, collusion and a prolific account of deception to even begin to swallow a self-defense theory. Jury instructions on their own should preclude it really...not to mention we have Super Juan.
