I think she will play wounded lamb and try and draw more sympathy from the jury. I think JM will need to be careful that his demeanor towards her doesn't backfire on the prosecution.:moo:

I agree. He's walking a fine line. If any of the jurors have "bought into" the abuse angle and he is too aggressive in the way he questions her, they will have sympathy for her. If he's too soft; he risks not getting his points across strongly.

I certainly hope the jury doesn't fall for JA's tales as it is clear to me that she was the abuser. While some women may return to their abuser it is often young women who have had little experience about what a relationship is supposed to be or they live ( and are financially dependent upon ) with and/or they have children with their abuser. JA is not a young innocent woman, no matter how she tries to appear on the stand. He didn't convince her to do something she had never done before. I think she was the aggressor. JA used sex to control people and TA didn't allow her to control him. It was his mistake. She has a new man in her life? No big surprise. MOO

BBM..The thing that I don't get with her and what her defense is trying to show, is, she was not married Travis, was barely in any kind of "relationship" with him, besides sex, she did not live with him or was an official "domestic partner", she had no children with him and was not dependant on him for financial support.

There are women who are truly abused because they are in any of the above situations. SHE let herself be usedNOT abused. I think there is quite a difference. How dare she cry abuse. :furious:

Nancy talked to a bunch of inmates in the jail in a restricted area bonded with Jodi listening to her rehearse her story for 4 years.

For me, enough said.

PS One of them thought the defendant cut up his body and deposited it all over the desert. So there's that too.

I think what most people who support Jodi are overlooking is the fact that Jodi has been engaged in some type of sexual relationship almost half of her life. She felt comfortable with all types of sex. Travis was not and had strong religious convictions. Along comes Jodi with the goal to upset those convictions. We all know from the way she acted around him. She knew close contact in a sexual manner was taboo and yet she continued to do so in front of other Mormons. Her only case is to prove he was the aggressor and this is the only way she can do it. I hope the jury see through her like a pane of glass.

Travis, what can I say to you that I haven't already said? I am so grateful for the endless hours of conversation and amazing experiences we've shared. Thank you for having the courage to share the Gospel with me. You've had one of the greatest impacts on my life, and have forever altered it's course for the better. I love you, my friend, and always will.

She would like us all to think she was used when in fact Darryl had outlived his usefulness and she was moving on to bigger and better things. She put out the bait and TA took it. It's the oldest trick in the book. Eve to Adam, "Oh, come on Honey, just one bite." Please, history always repeats itself over and over again. She is what she is.

Travis told the truth in his email to her. She did not respect his boundries. I think that pretty much spells it out to us.

i'm sure one big thing juan will do in closings is tell the jury they heard a story from jodi. it's HER story, and the only person who could say how much truth is in it (at least about their private time together) is dead because she killed him.

but it's a story---another story like the first 2 stories she told the police. we know those were lies, so why believe anything she says now especially when every word is so self-serving and makes her look like an innocent, naive victim?

i'm cringing at the thought of listening to her version of the 'attack'. they've gone over this meticulously and she will have an explanation for every single detail.

but in the end, it's still a story....from jodi arias....and she's a world class liar.

i also think the rebuttal case is going to be the best part of this trial.

I cannot wait for Juan to tear her aprt on cross and blow her BS outta the ball park in his rebuttal.

However, the actress that she is, I think she may remain perfectly calm while he blasts her. What do you think?

Personally, I think she will keep her cool but I also think she will slip up. Here's why, her attorney is being very methodical, speaking slowly and allowing her time to answer. JM is NOT going to do that, he is going to fire questions at her faster than she can say "I don't remember".

She already slipped up and corrected herself during her direct. She said that she got the Valentines Day package on Valentines day and they had only become "official" 12 days prior (ugh, that's my birthday)...but when describing the "Travis Alexander's" T-shirt and underwear she said he'd been joking around about getting her those for 'months'. One breath later she said 'well, it wasn't months, but weeks'. Now, that may have been too subtle to perk the juror's ears but she said it none the less.

That all leads me to believe that she can and will slip up. You better believe that I will be listening VERY intently for each and every one of those slip-ups.

I don't think he's going to,have to,go too far to remind this jury what a pathological liar she is. Over and over and over again. She will start embellishing right before our eyes just like she did for all the media interviews and all the interrogations. That's what I want to see.

She cannot be coached out of this because its not a pattern of behavior as much as in the fabric of her being.

Great catch! My first impression was that whole package was fabricated straight up to the melted chocolates. Then after court realized that was the general consensus of Travis friends. That he sent no such box ever. I believe she made that t shirt / panty thing herself. That entire package had "girl made this" written all over it. They had just become a "couple" but somehow he found time to play Martha Stewart, write a letter, package it all up and mail it to her in time for valentines day! Sorry don't buy it.

Call me crazy or whatever you want...I think she is going to get sympathy from that jury and no, I dont think it's right but she is good and dont beat me up I've watched many trials and have common sense..

:seeya: You are NOT crazy for thinking this -- I am very interested in hearing why you and others think this ... can you explain in a little more "detail" ? TIA !

Do you think she will get sympathy with respect to the death penalty, or get LWOP, or found not guilty :furious: ?

After the Pinellas 12 in Florida, YA JUST NEVER KNOW WITH JURIES !

Lets not forget, the t shirt and panty photo was taken weeks after Travis' death.

I found that slip up really interesting. I tried to screen cap her facial expression when that happened. Her face is usually kind of bland and expressionless, IMO, but when she corrected herself I saw some odd flashes.

Good morning everyone :-) If the jury believes JA, what happens? She has said she killed Travis, so what will happen? All this BS is just so she won't get the DP, right???? She'll still go to prison? Thanks :-)

While I do believe her psychopath charm may work on one juror at this stage of testimony, it will be difficult for any male or female to fathom the brutality of this crime. Juan will be sure to point out each wound to remind them. I feel sorry for a girl who was used does not translate into 'it was OK to nearly decapitate him, stab him 27 times and shoot him in the face"

IMO

in that interview with Travis' brother he made a very good point: for self defense you have to prove that you met force with force and she will never be able to prove that.
