Let me see if I can articulate better what bugs me about it.

I don't think it's weird to refer to your SO as "boyfriend" or "girlfriend" - even if the people are in their 30's or 50's.

However, referring to the relationship as "boyfriend/girlfriend," especially when you start talking about "officially" becoming "boyfriend/girlfriend" sounds completely junior high to me, and I don't ever hear adults refer to their relationships like that. People say "we were dating", or "we were dating exclusively" or "we were in a serious relationship" or "we were in a committed relationship." See what I mean?

Besides, in this relationship, they behaved exactly the same with each other the whole time -- nothing changed when Jodi alleges they "officially" became "boyfriend/girlfriend." I don't think Travis ever saw her that way, and I'm scratching my head over why Jodi picks the exact dates February 2 - June 29 as the period when they were "officially boyfriend/girlfriend" when they were having oral and anal sex way back in November (according to Jodi).

Oh yeah, I agree that the whole "we became boyfriend/girlfriend" way of putting it is ridiculous and not how adults should operate. And knowing those dates is fishy too. If I were in a relationship like the one described I'd probably just go with "October 2006 is when we started seeing each other".

Okay, for anyone interested in seeing JA's wheels turn, watch the linked video from 58:43 - 59:34 IMO you can actually see her come up with some of her story, right then and there. She even writes it down.

WARNING - GRAPHIC COMMENT:

I apologize in advance for the sensitive nature of this comment. After she slashed Travis' throat and nearly decapitated him, can you image the process of her moving his body back into the shower and the instability of his head? I won't say more...

I still can not see where she is on the photo that shows her pants and foot I have tried and tried but just not seeing it old age and bad eyes I guess but I did not mean to open a link last night and it had photos I had never seen and I had trouble sleeping after seeing just how bad it was. Overkill Major Overkill I pray the jury seals her fate and Travis and his family gets some sort of Justice.

Good afternoon, peeps. I took care of my errands but haven't caught up on this thread yet. I have a question - forgive me if it's silly :D - but what's up with Dr. Drew wearing tight jeans that clearly show off his "package"? :blushing: I'm not a fan and rarely watch his show but have stayed tuned in to HLN each evening this week for JVM, NG, and Dr. Drew for coverage of the Arias' trial. Is this something new for the good doc, or has he done this for a while?

I only hope that testimony is given that shows Travis was desperate to get away from Jodi but didn't know what to do. Maybe he had concluded that when he said no to Jodi he and another girl had their tires slashed. Maybe when he said no to Jodi, Jodi came over and watched him and a friend as they slept. Maybe Travis thought to break away gradually so as not to provoke Jodi. Plus if I was some strong guy I may have thought I could physically control her if she tried to attack.

I don't know the battle Travis had between his religious beliefs and him trying to extricate himself from Jodi Arias.

To call him a hypocrite is judging him without any proof other than the words spoken from a known liar's mouth. How can you judge him so harshly?
It's not a harsh judgement. I'm not sure if this is lost in translation or what. Or maybe I have the definition wrong. Or maybe I should slap my English instructor. I don't know, what I do know is I too have grappled with my religion vs what felt good and behaved hypocritical as a result. Many, many, many people have, but thankfully, no one took advantage of me the way Jodi took advantage of Travis. I think he was getting back on track and winning the internal battle and that's why Jodi killed him, because he had the strength of character to overcome his lust.

IMO

:floorlaugh: that made me giggle!

Good morning everyone :) Quick question, when they showed the picture of the shirt/panties, did Nurmi ask her about the date the pic was taken? I haven't been able to listen to the last part of her testimony from yesterday yet. I have my step-grandchildren here... and you just never know what is going to come out of JA's mouth, so can't watch till they go home later today!

I read the article last night about the profilers home being broken into.... I don't understand why they released the info that they did  If it just happens to be some random idiot that broke in, he/they now know that there is some valuable (?) info on that laptop he/she stole!

*not saying it's got a monetary value, but definately interesting, I know I'd read it if it was all of a sudden online :blushing:

BBM I watch/read a lot of true crime stuff. A common thread I've noticed is that when LE has little or no clues to the crime committed they release info to the public in hopes of someone providing some tips. In this case, I believe their hope is that if a laptop shows up for cheap on CraigsList, etc.that someone will notify LE or that the thief will dump it like a hot rock. Not a good time for anyone to be trying to unload a laptop, especially in the Phoenix area right now, unless the idea of a visit from investigators is appealing. :waitasec:

Can Mormons be pretty aggressive about recruiting people?

Just curious because it seems like JA changed her religion a lot for men. Just wondering if she misinterpreted Travis introducing his faith to her as him having serious feelings for her when it might just be what they do.

Casey may have blamed George but I see that as self-preservation. Jodi sent flowers to Travis' grandmother after what she did to him. Irises, because according to her, Travis wanted to name a future daughter Iris.

That denotes a special sadistic element that scares the living bejeesus out of me. She literally feeds off other's pain. (To this point we see that in Casey too with both her parents.) With Jodi that sadistic, pain-inflicting circle is expanded to include a great deal many more victims.

MOO

That is so creepy...
On JA's Facebook blog she had a post with many quotes, some from unknown authors others from Jesus, Buddha, etc.. one stuck out to me that she said was from a recent fortune cookie..
"A great pleasure in life is doing what others say you can't." - my most recent fortune cookie.
In a positive application, this would mean accomplishing great things despite adversity... but in a negative light, it could be taking pleasure in doing the unimaginable or the forbidden. Both in the murder, and in her sexual exploits, I find the latter to be applicable to JA.
Doing what others say you can't? Like.. breaking another person's chastity vow?
Doing what others say you can't? Like.. brutally murdering a large man you "love"?
Doing what others say you can't? Like.. lying on the stand??
Just an interesting twist, IMO.

I can never make out that image either....

Size the photo full screen then stand up and start walking backwards until you see it, it is as plain as day. Perhaps the farther away you get the better you'll be able to make it out. Good luck! :)

I agree. Also, she was just as much a user as Travis, maybe moreso as she used him to fulfill not only her needs but her self. She's nothing but a pathologically needy, empty shell; without a man she doesn't exist, and she used sex to lure him in and keep him spellbound for a time. So she was getting what she needed. Travis was far better than any other man she had ever had, so she decided he was the one she wanted and she believed she just had, had, had to have him. Without him, she would become that empty nothing again, she would feel dead inside, so when he rejected her, in her mind he then became the enemy working against her. So her psychotic murderous rage took over and she destroyed him.

I guess in her pathologically twisted mind, she probably really does see it as self defense. :shakehead:

DB seems like he was a decent man. Certainly loves his son. Had a nice home and generally steady employment.

I missed some of the "Life of Jodi" marathon, but am wondering if Travis was the first 'boyfriend' to reject her.

Of the parts I did hear, it sounded like she was the one leaving in her 'relationships' before TA.

If TA was the first to reject her, given her narcissism and stunted maturity, I can completely understand the level of rage she could feel. I still remember vividly the first time rejection as a 20 yo. For most 'normal' people, the overwhelming reaction is depression. But for a psychopath (IMO), it would be overwhelming rage, which is exactly the result we see here.

I wonder if Juan will focus on that, since most people have experienced rejection at some point in life, and will relate to what a powerful force it is.

Okay, was looking for the photo that TotallyObsessed can't make out, did a google search for 'jodi arias crime scene photos' then clicked on photos....if you don't want to see a very graphic photo of TA in the shower, please do not ever do that search. Traumatized right now. I can't imagine being a juror in this case.

That guy that was on Dr. Drew last night by phone, the one who lent the $$ for Arias to go and slaughter TA, he said she was desparate which was why he lent her the money. Did he testify for the State?

Was there a SW served on the computer that she used just prior to her trip to kill TA?

Does anyone know?

For those of us that believe that this whole 'story' of JA's sounds more like a booty call than a relationship, including myself, how do we explain how some of TA's friends have said they were a couple at some point?

Maybe that goes back to how she says TA treated her differently, depending on who was around. I'm just not sure. At this point (hahaha) I don't see how this was a relationship at all.

At the first I think there was something, but as time went by Travis saw Jodi had nothing to give him other than sex and he was getting tired of that. She wasn't someone he wanted to marry.
Jodi knew there was fresh virginal Lisa that Travis wanted. I think she also made that trip to kill Lisa and that was going to be with the knife. More personal and close.

It appears that way. She walked away from her other relationships.

You didn't say anything horrible -- it just rubbed me the wrong way, and seemed a little overly blame-y of Travis.
He wasn't to blame. Not even a little bit. Jodi disgusts me.

No last night is the first we have heard of him.

Does this pic help to see Jodi's pants and shoe? I took the image and fiddled with the settings until I could see it.

ETA: I didn't write those things on the side, that was already on the picture that I used. I'm only showing for the picture part.
