If I have a girlfriend who told a lie and then tells me she is being abused...should I believe her or disbelieve her because she is a known liar? I had no idea until I started following this trial that there was a "checklist" on how a "true" abuse victim behaves or should behave.

Of course not. But there is a well established pattern pervasive through decades of research this case is lacking entirely.

I am absolutely no expert. But I lived it for a decade. I've volunteered at DV advocacy groups in two countries and learned a lot in my few years of research and therapy. It is my opinion, based on so much more than just what has been testified to, that Travis in no way displayed characteristics well-known and very common to abusive personalities. Jodi, however, has quite a few consistent with an abuser. People can make what they want of that opinion. But on the flip side...

I'm not going to take the word of anyone they're abused just because they say so either. I am, because it is human nature, going to weigh it against my experiences and if it seems hinky you can bet I am going to question it. Jodi has an extremely good motivator to lie about who Travis was and has a well-established history of lying.

Initially Jodi had my sympathy. Now she has incurred my wrath. Just keeping it real.

Sorry, but if JA had Travis' Gmail passwords, anything purported to be sent by Travis is in question.

Also, when forwarding an email, one can edit the text in the forwarded email any which way one wants.

If it's an email and JA has received, sent, read, forwarded, CCed, BCCed or in any way had a connection to it - I call it suspect - especially if it contains anything favorable to her (edit much, JA?).

Call me skeptical - because I am.

Ah - here she goes with the 'transference' thing again (not sure what the formal term is for it).

She gets extremely jealous and upset when Travis gave any attention to any other woman - so she puts it on Travis as being the one who has HER irrational feelings...

I think at least there's some of that going on here - if not a lot of it...
