Very dismissive comment. More time to prepare (within reason) is always better, pro or not. If for no other reason (and I think there are lots of reasons), might be helpful to research statements made by Jodi Arias.

Without parole means no opportunity for parole, ever.

The judge has to state no parole cause after 25 years here goes the parole hearings. I know, have to do with it with my brothers killer. His killer will prolly be paroled within the next 5 years. His sentence was life, but had the the little stickie on end with a max 25 years. :furious:

Isn't it kind of significant that neither defense or the state want him to testify to anything????? So why are they having him on these shows. He wanted to claim the 5th which shouts out he was lying on the stand. I don't get what the sudden attraction to Guy is. Juan called him out in court for what he was. jmo

My question for Gus Searcy. If its true you receive 6 figures for waking up in the morning, as evidenced by your shiny brooch, for the profits you receive from legal insurance, how is it possible you don't have a lawyer at your disposal while you are providing invaluable testimony in a murder trial?

I agree that more time would obviously be better. My point is that Martinez is more than competent and I have faith he'll be extremely prepared regardless of when cross starts. I don't feel my comment was dismissive, just complimenting a great attorney.

I’m not sure if anyone has already picked apart the story of the trashed BMW. It would have been ruined but not the way she says: Dismiss the notion of it being towed in first gear, in any gear or in drive. The drive wheels would not rotate and if you attempted this stunt those tyres would skid along with obvious results – if you could even get the whole rig moving.

To get any forward motion you would need to put the car in neutral. But even engaging neutral and lifting the front wheels on a dolly won’t protect automatic transmission for more than three or four miles because BMWs are rear-wheel drive. Automatic transmission requires the engine running to ensure lubrication is pumped to the rear drive shafts (which would be rotated by the act of towing.)

Rotating drive shafts in neutral = insufficient lubrication = burnt out transmission.

JA tried to blame U-Haul but that’s farcical. No rental company would watch her struggling to drive off with the rear wheels of the towed vehicle locked solid! In my opinion she drove off normally with the towed BMW in neutral (key safely out) and its transmission burnt dry after a few miles.

Sorry for the mechanics lecture, and it’s a minor point, but another lie which needs pointing out – to JA and her DT. :websleuther:
