" oh normal day, let me be aware of what a treasure you are.."

He is also not credible, to me. I think he's making this crap up as he goes along. To stay relevant.

Well now, katie, he knows his 15 minutes are ticking down, down, down, so he's taking advantage of it -- kinda like Kato Kaelin did. The poor guy is just trying to make a livin' after all. Look what it did for Kato (sort of).

I'm sorry to ask this if it has already been answered. I saw where JM questioned JA about the email to TA. He implied she actually sent it to TA on purpose, instead of a copy. Is that what happened?

Wellll… Planned some time to join in with you for the 'droning heard round the world' testabalogney. Cannot say I am too upset. The more time :heartbeat: Juan :heartbeat: has to prepare his cross, the better! :rocker:

Entirely O/T - I just picked up my rescue foster kitten from being spayed this AM. I may be totally out of line here, but it occurred to me - If anyone is in Georgia (US) and is interested in adopting a particularly wonderful people bonded lap-kitty, she is looking for a home in which her "person/family" are home more often than not - That because she was rescued desperately sick & emaciated as a tiny baby. She was hand fed, and ultimately lost one eye. She is people bonded because of all the time I spent with her.

She has such a wonderful personality!
Nurse - give me a snip if this is out of line. I volunteer with rescue so our fosters have plenty of exposure.

Sitting here thinking of something positive about no court today. Number 1 came to mind immediately. Nurmi has spent mind-numbing days leading up to his crescendo: THE SELF DEFENSE KILLING of Travis Alexander. He would have left the jury at that peak over a 4-day weekend.

Now, the jury has a 5-day weekend with the mind-freezing litany of minutae presented over an extremely long period.

Unless Nurmi decides to spread his direct over a couple of more brain-cell-killing days, his big finale will be followed the next day by Juan Martinez' cross examination.

Heh and moo

If I was a juror, the thing that would be in my mind is; Jodi was asking Travis to be her boyfriend and he said no. It's that simple to me. I really need nothing more.

Now show me the self dense in his murder. You convince me that Jodi wasn't on a trip to get to Travis, to gain control. That she needed to make it official, and stop Travis's final rejection of her.

Show me that Jodi didn't go there to harm Travis in some way. Give me a reasonable answer of why a gun and knife were within easy reach in the bathroom, and tell me why this is not a murder from a woman scorned.

One of the Carnival ships is floating in the Gulf for a few days. No power, no fresh water, no toilet facilities. Sailed out of Galveston. Had massive fire in engine room. Shut down all services.

Last I heard, they were trying to get tugs to it to take to Alabama.

I don't know why they can't sail another vessel with helicopters to airlift the passengers.

probably because there are 4 THOUSAND people on the ship. It would take a REEEEAAAALLLLY long time to do that - not to mention a few helicopters as well.

They are doing what they can. I dont imagine they are on the cruise of their lives right now, but I am sure that the Carnival line and everyone else involved thought of a few ways to handle this and went with the best AND SAFEST option for the passengers....

It sounded like Jodi's attorney asked, "Did you want to murd . . . uh, marry Darryl . . . " Freudian slip?

:furious::furious:4 more day to think of some more of those lies!!!!!!!!!:furious::furious:

How anybody noticed the way she walks. Now, i'm sure she didn't walk that way before all this. That has got to be a sympathic walk hoping the jury will feel sorry for her.

I don't have a problem with PPl. There's a market for that kind of thing. The only one who made PPl look bad was Gus. He's about to testify in a murder trial of one of his acquaintances and here he is giving a seminar on PPl. It was not the time or the place. He came across as someone looking for attention and there to sell a product. Not to help in any way, but to sign up those in the courtroom. His behavior was disgusting. Also when he couldn't answer about having a lawyer it made PPl look bad, here you are selling this insurance to everyone and you don't a have a lawyer on hand? I don't thik anyone is looking down on PPl but just Gus..IMO

Oh, forgive me, I AM looking down on Pre Paid Legal BECAUSE someone like Mr Gus Searcy is one of their 'super stars'.

Was it an "LDS" firm -- meaning one where management committee is predominantly LDS. It seems like PPL has a major LDS connection. Not driving at anything. Just curious about that in general.

I am wondering the same thing. I was wondering if PPL was originally formed by members of LDS. Just wondering who started the company and if its origins were tied to LDS in any way.

Is there any ties to LDS even yet today? Like does LDS use PPL services or does it recommend its members to use PPL or any ties at all to it?

Not that it would matter legally or anything, but just curious since so many LDS members that Travis knew seemed to also be in PPL.

If you want to catch a big fish you fish at the swimming hole that the big fish swim at. If you are JA you need to make your chief attributes (T and A) count at the onset.

She scares the willies' out of me. And I am much to old for listening to this kind
of behavior. Geez, times have sure changed.
I think she is a succubus and she lured him in and tried to poison him and did for
quite awhile. A nursery mouth talking all the nasty things she thought could
keep him tied to her, thru sex.
And the poor young man who was struggling with a difficult history, didn't have a chance while under her spell.
My intuition says he woke up eventually and was trying to break free...but she was to fast for him.
My heart goes out to his family for having to go thru this...and I hope she never
gets out...if she does, I'll have to sleep with garlic under my pillow...and DH
would not appreciate that!

Hello to all...!!

All the partners were Jewish. The office manager was Mormon, though, and really did run the place for the most part--I suppose she could have suggested the idea. As I said, I was a brand-new baby lawyer at the time, so no one confided in me about it lol.

What JM pointed out was that the "To" section of the email (that was said to have been an email *TO* Abe Abdehadi) showed it was "To" Travis and not Abe at all. JM mentioned something about a "BCC" (blind copy), but never expanded on that.
I think it's all very fishy because she was breaking into his email. who is to say she wrote emails, sent them to Travis, broke into his account, printed them, then deleted them??

According to the docket, there is no court on Monday, either.

2/20/2013 10:30 Trial
2/21/2013 10:30 Trial

BBM - Monday is Presidents Day - courts are closed.

Let me add that I wasn't the only one at the firm who objected. I was just the only lowly associate who objected out loud, because no one else was willing to risk getting fired.

One of the four founding partners was also very vocally against being involved with PPL, on the ground that they had homeless people passing out PPL flyers outside the courthouse with the name of our law firm on them.
