I think she figured out, that normal everyday ppl have zero tolerance for pedophiles. In the prison hierarchy, they are at the bottom. In her warped mind, she probably figures that the jury will think she was "justified". A lot of her filed motions dealt with with trying to get letters in (forged ones at that) trying to "prove" TA was into pedophilia. IMO
She should have seen it as a terrible gamble too because I'm not buying it, I hope the jury isn't, and I hope her overreaching cost her everything

Yes, yes, yes!!! I posted this a while back too. It happened to me one time.
A life threatening situation caused me to lose all control of my legs & I went down.
The old saying paralyzed with fear is very true!!
I am sure that is why TA was sitting in that shower. He knew he was going to die & he was paralyzed with fear.

I had a black bear to get after me one time! I didn't freeze! I ran like a bat outta Hell. Hubby said he had never seen me move so fast!!
P.S.
His cousin, and his wife, that were with us on vacation when that happened, in September, bought mt two lamps (with bears roasting marshmallows) and two bear rugs for Christmas!! :floorlaugh:

Oh and I will add her claim of walking in on Travis "masturbory conduct" to my list of peeping conduct.

Not that I believe that story ever happened. Just that she believes all this creeping and peeping is ok.

exactly.

Arias only told us what she wanted to tell us about the alleged pedo day on direct.. (talking about the car would void her attempts at convincing us)

Juan is the one using her own text messages and phone calls to impeach her testimony.

(I am sure on redirect she will come up with another answer about the car swapping however... as she cannot let an opportunity go to "convince" everyone that her story is the one we all have to buy):twocents:

Arias' biggest problem right now is her 80k message cell phone history with Travis. (beggars cannot be choosers and Travis is going to get his say on Cross )

My guess on the car swap: she wanted an excuse to see him and when he went to FHE and told her to just go get the car, she was pissed. That explains her telling him she fell asleep and saying "we'll see". She was pissed and was getting back at him. I've known people like this.

I think there are at least some jurors who are already hip to the evil that is jodi arias who are impressed with his aggression. Sometimes there is a need for outrage and he's expressing it for a lot of people in there.

I think it's fine at the right moments. I had no problem with his opening question about her "dumb sister." But when for instance he'll get irate at someone for reading something out loud when he asks them to read an exhibit he gave them, as though they are supposed to read his mind that he meant for them to read to themselves, that's very grating.

Watching some replays on TruTV now. Does anyone else wish that Juan could state "Objection: Argumentative" due to the way JA is responding to his questioning? She is determined to (try to) have the upper hand here. My money is on JM!!!

I too was wondering if she had access to the texts before hand. Maybe when she was going to act as her own attorney?

I think the texts are part of the discovery if I am not mistaken.

Well, I don't think I could be any more prepared for today, I've watched the testimony from Thursday 5 times, start to finish.

A couple of observations:

During testimony - Juan asks "you left in your car". Jodi responds yes. Juan - Isn't that problematic since you were driving Travis' car. Jodi responds she wasn't driving his car yet. More between JA and JM. A few minutes later when asked, suddenly she doesn't remember which car she was driving. Small but definite inconsistency in her testimoy.

Jodi stifles a laugh during the "Men like you and Travis" exchange. It's pretty subtle and if the jurors aren't looking at her (as I think has been reported from our WS Celebs) then it won't matter. BUT, if even one juror saw her it could be a major problem for the defense. There is nothing funny about this, a battered woman would not fire back like that and then laugh about it. SMH

It is obvious that JA is going to claim that she did not write those notes in the magazine. I can tell that is her handwriting, she has very distinctive handwriting. There is absolutely no denying that handwriting. A handwriting expert can verify during the States Rebuttal case should the need arise.

Jodi shows no signs, whatsoever, as someone who will be pushed around, if her defense was battered woman syndrome then she needed to be cowering from Juan, not standing up to him like that. She's blown her defense and there is no turning back now. She can't get on the stand today and pretend to be being beaten down, it won't work now.

Today promises to be a very interesting day, can't wait for testimony to start back up!

Couldn't agree more...and Beth Kara's agrees with you too. She thinks what he did was brilliant Thursday. I heard her analysis with my own ears along with Anita and Katie ddj...who by the way signed up here last night and will be posting her observations from court HERE now.

Any idea what registered name Katie will be using so we will know who she is when she posts?

Can't wait to see your posts tonight. I may take a nap during cross just so I can stay up late enough to read the posts, since I am in Eastern time. LOL. But gosh, I would have to miss Juan and I am a Juanette. Guess I will just miss my sleep!

Pleas tell Beth and Jean we are all sorry they lost their jobs. Beth is awesome. I hate reality shows. Our household doesn't watch them. But they could not take over court TV if there wasn't a huge audience for that crap. I think people are losing their minds. JMO, of course.

I would really like to see Beth's analysis. I did some searching, but haven't found any video of this. If anyone knows where to view this, I would appreciate a link.

TY!

I haven't seen where she spoke about it...she was the host on Friday. She told us all that in person then said to Katie ddj and Anita "make me proud girls" as she'd missed her chance to be on dd while having dinner.
She left saying "I'm hosting in session tomorrow. I may interview myself!" Lol. She has strong opposing opinions re how JM did Thursday compared to some of her colleagues. She totally got his strategy and called it "brilliant"

But when for instance he'll get irate at someone for reading something out loud when he asks them to read an exhibit he gave them, as though they are supposed to read his mind that he meant for them to read to themselves, that's very grating.

I listened to that video twice and did not get that impression. He was not irate he just told her matter-of-fact, no just read it to yourself. Where he was aggitated with her was when she started dancing around the answer. He told her, yes or no answer please. And she answers with "okay".

He is handling a sociopath with the only method that works. She reveals too much of her self under this type of cross. While some may not like it he has no choice but to draw her out of her comfort zone. If she were telling the truth there would be no hesitation. She is not prepared to answer the questions the way he is asking them by keeping her off guard.

Nurmi was slow at asking her questions for a reason. So she had time to think over her response before it was time for her to answer. Juan is so quick and runs through things so fast she is off guard and can't think ahead fast enough to formulate an answer. He knows what he is doing. He is doing what he has to do. Plain and simple. Beth K. gets it and that is good enough for me. jmo

Here's a recreation for you -- Form your hands into this awkward and uncomfortable position that Travis is using over his heart.

Doesn't that look like he is doing compression on a stab wound???

Or attempting to protect his heart from what he suspects or has been told will happen

Thank you. Have I ever told you that you are wonderful?:blushing:
You are a great advocate for victims and knowing what you have been through gives me even greater respect for you. I can't even imagine!

Good Monday Morning to everyone, I am newly registered but have been a visiting guest on this site for years and do love Websleuths! I just couldn’t resist an opportunity to post my “ 2 cents worth” on the Arias ”NutCase”. I have enjoyed reading everyone’s post and am glued to this trial. I have spent the weekend mulling over where Juan is going this morning with cross. Jodi was so tongue tied at the very end of the trial last Thursday that I am sure she knows what is coming her way this morning.

Where I stand or in my opinion, Jodi, premeditatedly, killed Travis Alexander in cold blood. Definitely not in self- defense. With regard to motive I feel she killed him because,( besides the fact she is a femme fatale), she was angry, jealous and knew she would never ever have him, but also because- given Jodi’s parasitic nature with all of her past boyfriends- she had to get rid of Travis so that she could continue to insert herself into PPL pool of available men. By the time Travis was murdered he had already figured out what a psycho she was and I don’t believe Jodi wanted Travis to jeopardize her reputation in anyway. PPL was a good resource of available and successful men that Jodi could have used to find her next “victim”, she had already lined up Ryan Burns. Travis had way more friends and associates and was so well regarded by so many that he could have exposed her craziness, and I think he would have warned any available bachelors away from her. Jodi was, and always appears to be, on the Hunt. Besides jealousy and anger and possession , Travis was in the way.

And also in my opinion if I were on the jury, the minute Jodi indicated she blacked out, couldn’t remember the stabbing, and “the next thing I knew I was in the desert” would have decided her guilt for me.

I think she will admit writing it, but will spin some story about it to make it seem less damning. If she denies writing it, the jury will never believe her, and it will give them even more evidence to place in the guilty column. She has to admit to it and explain it. IMO.

No definately a UT fan, it is a nickname for my sweet pup. Thanks for the welcome I hope to get to know you all better and keep up with the conversations. I listen in the background during work so I sometimes miss things due to interruptions.
