If I was on this jury...I would have a major problem with her going right and into the closet where she knew a gun supposedly was...rather than going left and out the bedroom door. I mean, the bedroom door was right there! To me, that is a big hurdle and shows premeditation to go towards where she says a gun was. ( of course I know this is all a lie)

I would think the guy who is on the floor screaming "fu**** kill you *****" would be the one to get up and go for the gun.

True. While she was stabbing, throat slitting and shoooting - what made her stop? What was the ah-ha moment that she realized 'hey T is gone and will never be back'. Something broke her out of the rampage of Killing T over and over and over again.

Remember Jodi saying the ninja woman was telling Travis to shut up because he was screaming and said he couldn't feel his legs? I think Ms Maniac stopped assaulting poor Travis when it dawned on her that the only noise she was hearing was her own breathing. Huffing and puffing after stuffing Travis in the shower. She knew she had killed him and went to get the glass from under the sink to watch off any evidence on his body.

will we have to suffer Droopy for redirect for as long as direct lasted?

THERE IS NO RECROSS IN ARIZONA! I just heard on TV....am I the last to know this? So no video of "I WOULD BEG FOR THE DP"??????

Correct but I learned today that JM can bring her up again on rebuttal.

On HLN, Mike and Vinnie are recreating the defendants version of murder.

I don't see him in the photos on the left. Can someone point it out, pretty please?

Do you see all of the blood dripping down? From the top of the photo to the bottom.

I just heard Jean C say that there is no re-cross in Arizona. Maybe that has been posted here, I'm new.
I have two questions at the moment. What's up with Beth Karas leaving? And no more In Session?? Ok, three, what is BBM. I looked it up and it said "Body By Mattel" but I don't think that is what you all are saying.

OMG are you guys watching HLN?

  • #608
It really was. I cried :(

haven't seen the end yet - since it's aired 2 hours later here in AZ... I'll brace myself.

They haven't mentioned it yet - unless they did before I turned to it. Ugh.

Question. I have heard that the state/detectives think the gun shot was the final wound and that it occurred at/by the sink. But wouldn't TA have to be standing for the splatter to be on the vanity? And they say she slit his throat before shooting him but how could he be standing when he was nearly decapitated?

I wonder if she did shoot him first (not in self defense) and then she realized it didn't kill him like she thought it would. He tries to escape down the hall and she is stabbing him in the back as he his trying to get away (crawling perhaps). He makes it to the bedroom and he turns over, she stabs him in the chest/heart and then slits his throat and drags him back into the bathroom.

ETA: Although I now remember the casing is in a pool of blood and not covered with blood. So maybe it is possible it did get kicked there as she drug him back into the bathroom. I dunno.... I don't think we will ever really know.

I have a really hard time trying to remain "impartial" as I listen to the testimony. How is it possible for a normal human being to not feel "emotion" when trying to render a verdict? I know the jury is supposed to look only at the facts of the case. How does a juror separate all that out? I have never been on a jury, so if someone could share I would appreciate it. TIA

Jurors are human of course and its very hard to stop being 'human' without emotions. They have displayed emotions while listening to testimony in some of the cases Ive watched in the past.

The death penalty case I was on was a heartbreaking one. A young man and his wife were horribly murdered for no other reason than the three spree killers wanted their vehicle. Both were very nice looking in life with such a happy future ahead of them and to see how they were shot in the face mutlple times tugged at my heart.

But in the end I pushed that out of my mind when deliberating and I weighed only the evidence that came in from the witness stand to determine my vote.

imo

Anyone Watching VP and his body slamming with the lawyer/wrestler?? Priceless.

HLN's got David Otunga (westler and attorney) on to discuss the improbability of Jodi's body-slam story. :floorlaugh:

What is your opinion on jury questions?

If they have none, does that mean they believe her story, so no need to ask her questions? Or does it mean they know she's full chit so why bother?

in my opinion, she could not care less about how those photos looked.. she just wanted an excuse to be in the bathroom, where he was the most vulnerable, naked, trapped, and easy to clean up after..

i think the whole 'calvin klein' thing was just b.s. to the cops... probably never came up at all while she was there with Travis.

OK, so you think she was actually taking photos and Travis was aware that she was taking them?

My point is that he DIDN'T know and trying to prove that he didn't know she was even there due to the shower door being closed, no flash being used, etc.

My last question for now.

Let's go with the fact that he didn't know she was there. He is just a guy taking a shower, letting the water run down his back (arms over head on back wall), etc. He notices her, and that's the photo we see him looking straight into camera.

Then she throws open the door, and due to his surprise and being wet in a small space, she actually kicked his legs out from under him...and that's how he ended up sitting on the floor of the shower?

Maybe that's not possible but in my head it makes perfect sense. LOL!!

Then she has him down and starts stabbing (the slices to his head)...but they are just scalp wounds and not enough to cause life ending injuries. He is able to get up and chase her and then it's on from there, maybe even actually unknown to her exactly how it all happened. It is perfectly clear it all happened very fast, it must have been a blur.

No matter how psychotic you are, killing someone cannot be easy especially with all that blood. It would be traumatic, no matter how much you planned and wanted it to happen.

OK, I think I am done playing with my puzzle for the day. Will just read now...LOL!!

I think he's going to ask her if she wrote those secret codes in the magazine, and she will of course lie and say no. It seemed like she was already going for the classic jodi excuse, blaming it on someone else (her cell mate, in this case.) The notes weren't in the same cursive-style writing as her diaries, (which I think was deliberate on her part) but they'll try to show that she didn't write them.

I wouldn't touch them, if I were Nurmi. :worms:

Another thing...what woman wears long pants, never mind with black socks in AZ in June!?!?

One committing a bloody murder and doesn't want to get any blood on herself or leave identifiable footprints.

No one else. That's it.

I am. Hilarious! They've got an area taped off to be the size of the room, Mike Brooks is playing Travis, and the top half of a mannequin is playing Jodi.

I don't think that he even saw the knife til it was in his chest....I think when he opened the door and reached for the camera, she stabbed him with it....I'd imagine the pain to be horrific causing him to slouch down in the shower...then she snaps that photo of him

In that picture his leg seems crossed over the other, it would almost have to be for him to fit. And if they were taking pictures (gunpoint or not) he might have sat like that so his privates wouldn't show

I think if it was after the stabbing it would be more of a crumple pose, I don't know how one would slump like that and end up w/ legs crossed, but I haven't tried it.

Just a little more fodder for discussion
