In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter if he said, "Just take a minute" or "Stick with it"?

Even if he said "stick with it", that could have meant a lot of things.

I just don't think it is a big deal either way, but that is just me. :dunno:

(1). I listened to the HLN clip of Nurmi and didn't hear "stick with it," (2) If he did say that, we don't know the context, he could have been saying, " stick with it, I know it's hard but you knew you would be confronted by the pictures at some point," or whatever, and (3) I think people are getting too cavalier about throwing around accusations of ethical violations by Nurmi. He is a public defender. He did not ask for this case but was assigned to it. Most public defenders are overloaded and underpaid but believe fiercely in the need for a defense to prevent individuals from being railroaded by the state.
The first time I heard it, I thought he said, "Take a minute."

I am not hatin' on the guy. I posted what was aired on HLN to try to help- sorry. Next time I will just not try.

I didn't mean you personally...sorry if that's what you got from it. I meant in general, we love to analyze the man to death from nose picks, to leaning back, to his clothing.

He gives me the heebie jeebies just like most everyone else. :)

Rebuttal is one of the few vehicles whereby a party may introduce surprise evidence or witnesses. The basic process is as follows: Both sides of a controversy are obliged to declare in advance of trial what witnesses they plan to call, and what each witness is expected to testify to. When either a plaintiff (or prosecutor) or defendant brings direct evidence or testimony which was not anticipated, the other side may be granted a specific opportunity to rebut it. In rebuttal, the rebutting party may generally bring witnesses and evidence which were never declared before, so long as they serve to rebut the prior evidence.

I remember, was it yesterday, that some noted weird that twice for an answer she said "not in Arizona" following her answer. Hmmmmmmm, me thinks someone in .........California!..... is what she was excluding so she wouldn't get caught in the rebuttal trap.. Thanks!

if you live in texas and you kill somebody, his attorney is the one you want.

a friend of mine knows him and asked him one day when she ran into him if he could advise her about something related to her divorce. dick said 'no......but if you kill him, i'll get ya off.'

I grew up there in Texas. Hence the slogan "Don't mess with Texas". Haha.
Attorneys like that are still sleaze!!

Yikes! I have to agree. Jodi seemed to recover fairly quickly, responding to what Nurmi was saying...then a sidewards glance and a tissue...and Nurmi also quickly looked out towards the court room. IMHO, Jodi was probably flattered that Nurmi acknowledged her performance.

I am still in shock about ALL the images ..the murder and all her parts exposed..plus why does Travis have to be exposed ..That really bothers me the most ..

Years ago my soon to be husband was walking my dog while I took a bath. Hubby let go of the leash, comes in the house and tells me.... I ran in nothing but a bathrobe outside and was running around. Police see me and drive up to ask me what was wrong. I was crying and sobbing so hard they couldn't understand me. They believed perhaps I had been raped. I finally choked out what was going on.

My point... I was more upset at just the thought of losing my dog than Jodi was about killing a man.

I did find my dog... Well honestly ...when I went home to get in the car to search, he was there waiting for me:)

I can't get this case out of my mind.

Two points I want to make:

1) Many have pointed out in these threads that Tanisha ought to have 5 minutes alone with her. I completely agree. I have no idea how his siblings are sitting through this. God must be giving them strength. There is no way I could sit there. I have one brother who I completely adore. Thinking of someone doing this to him would make me completely nuts and I'd want to kill her!!

2) Can you even imagine having those images in your head? Of brutally murdering someone? Even a sociopath is going to feel something with those images in her head.

She makes me sick. If anyone ever deserved the DP, it is this evil being. :furious:

Someone sent me a link last night of crime scene photos, some I had not seen before....I really had a terrible time sleeping last night....I have tried not to look at any since the first ones I saw...they really upset me..some of these last night were worse than I had seen previously.....I will NEVER get those images out of my head. I can't begin to imagine what his family has been through having to see them.....breaks my heart. She is EVIL......thank goodness she has never had a child. I can't imagine being a parent and sitting in court hearing about her sexual escapades and the horrible gruesome murder. I know some animals kill their young.....I think it this case her parents should have.

I think I see rope in image 5:32:16, the lighted leg/foot/drag photo

http://s922.beta.photobucket.com/us.../shower_travis_murder_pics_xtralarge.jpg.html

You see a rope white in the foreground, it goes under Travis and part is sticking out from under Travis' arm. We previously thought the "rope" be his foot based on the reenactment. I never thought that was a foot--far too tiny for correct proportions.

This would explain why rope fiber was found in the blood pools and why JA felt she had to take it with her.

I believe she denied that the casing landed in the blood. My theory is that the blood coagulated in a pool around the casing. It ran down the crack and pooled up. The casing is lying exactly where it should be if it were ejected after being shot from the shower area.

IMO, she shot him while he was seated in the shower, but rather than killing him, he was still conscious and knocked the gun out of her hand...as she testified. (She changed the location of where the shot was fired.) Best to keep things as close to the truth as possible.

Quite a stretch IMO.

Not a rope. It's definitely his foot. I'm sure someone can post the recreation photo so you can see how small the foot looks from that perspective. It does look odd, but it's his foot.

Sorry, there is this little thing called The Constitution to which I happen to be partial.

The Constitution is huge for me. Just wish Washington DC lived by it too!

But a defense attorney could ask a murderous client to make a plea or refuse to help them. I believe they usually just want the big fees and notoriety. IMO!
