i cut my finger badly about 3 weeks ago. badly enough i had to go to the emergency clinic. you'd never know it happened to look at it now.

the best evidence of that finger will come in rebuttal. a guy she had dinner with in utah, i believe, will testify she had bandages on her LEFT hand, which she has denied. her stabbing hand.
it's also just nonsense that she got that injury from TA's physical abuse and says she didn't seek medical attention for it, because she didn't want to tell a dr. how it happened.

really? do they hook you up to a polygraph in the dr.'s office? she could have explained it any way she wanted---we know she's a good liar. just say 'i jammed it' or something. no way she would have suffered with that finger---which had to be painful---and not seen a dr. about it. it happened JUNE 4. she just won't ever admit it. and look at her journal entries right after she says it happened---her writing looks just fine to me. you can't write well with a popsicle splint she claims TA put on it.

I am wondering if they have a photo of her with something more than a bandaid from a grouop picture as it caught my attention when Juan said "Guaze" not bandaid as he previosly had before. :waitasec:

I don't quite know where else to put this so putting it here.

I purchased two "Thank You" cards for Beth Karas yesterday. One from me and one from the WSers to give her on Monday.

I do think it's her last day working for In Session...I'm not sure what happens with her after that w/ this trial but I'll find out. Not even sure if she knew last Thursday.

I'm also driving to Sedona for the weekend and going to find her a beautiful necklace that represents AZ. Turquoise probably. She wears alot of necklaces so I'll find something that seems in her style. I will post a photo of it here after I get it.

If you guys want me to either make this a WS thank you gift or want me to pick up something else just let me know. I 'm ok going either way with it...I just need to have something special in my hand to give her on Monday. 19 years and the end of an era.

The card I got her for the WS community says this:

"The kindest hearts
expect no reward
and deserve
it all the more"

Inside:
"You give so much of yourself
in the kindness you show
and the lives you touch.
That's why you deserve a heartfelt "thank you"
and a wish that all the goodness you share
comes back to you"

Any ideas on how to sign this appreciated. I will just figure it out but want to capture the right sentiment.

Sigh....I'm in denial but I'm just so sad about this. I believe she will be snapped up somewhere but...dayum...

What a lovely idea, and how generous of you to do this, katiecoolady! I hope she realizes how many friends and loyal fans she has on Websleuths...I do believe some smart cookie will snap her up because she's just so good. BTW, I saw Beth this morning on The Today Show, discussing the Arias case (briefly) with Lester Holt.

"... Martinez's own story is inspiring: The seventh of eight children born to illiterate Mexican farmworkers, he immigrated to California when he was 6. He says he resolved as a youngster to learn English: "The people around me who were successful spoke and read English well. You didn't get far if you couldn't do that."

He managed a drugstore after earning his undergraduate degree, then entered law school. He finished law school at Arizona State University, worked for Community Legal Services helping tenants for a few years, did some defense work, then joined the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in 1988.

...and still looks like the distance runner he used to be in the high desert of rural Victorville, California."

They have her bloody palm print, and an eye witness and now her own admission.

Seems like a done deal to me!

I think JA may have disposed of the gun and knife somewhere between TA's house and or in Hoover Dam area.

But, due to no smoke smell noted on JA or in her car, I believe the burning of her murder garments happened after her visit to the SLC UT area, while on her way back to Yreka (or wherever she returned the rental car.) This was a ballsy move of her part also because she invited/encouraged the LE stop near West Jordan UT with her flipped license plate while having bloody clothes and blood stained seats in the car. JMO

ETA: I'll bet those car floor mats, if she burned them, probably stunk to high heaven.

I just don't see the advantage of flipping the license plate. To me this is a form of SOS as seen going down the road.

Does Beth not work for HLN as well? I guess I didn't really before that IS was her full time job. That's such a shame, she's so sharp, so level headed and unbiased, really the best, imo.

I only have sons, too. I have tried to talk with them briefly about this case, just to make sure they know what's out there, but they DO NOT want to discuss sex in any way, shape or form with their mother. No matter how carefully I word it. Jeez, they're 27 & 30 now, you'd think they'd realize that I'm not a complete innocent. But it's nice that they think highly of me anyway. :blushing:

Just the fact that you are interested enough to attempt to talk about it is what's going to keep them safe from people like JA. I can't help but believe that if his sisters (or a loving mother) had lived anywhere nearby, TA would have dumped JA before she could even "blink hard". They would have seen through her immediately & taken steps to protect their brother.

JA established a location, not in Mesa, with the flipped license plate and LE stop.

Didn't really help her though. :giggle:

I think she flipped it AFTER entering Utah. Everything she did seems to be taken from true crime stories regarding how someone either evaded detection or set up an alibi. I have heard several stories about prime suspects having solid alibis because they had contact with LE far away from the crime scene. Who better to vouch for her presence in Utah than officer friendly in Utah? There is no way she drove through AZ with a license plate screaming "pull me over" when she was careful to leave no trace of her presence in that state down to no receipts and cell phone off. I think JM will argue it was done in UT to shore up her alibi that she was in UT at the time Travis was savagely murdered.

Thank-you for this. I think for many young men today it has still got to be true that they like a challenge. And that they will respect a woman who waits to get to know them before having sex.

Having something to look forward to is always wonderful. With young people that just jump right into the sex they are missing out on all the sweet anticipation..all the longing..the yearning.
For me, all that made the sex, when it finally happened, so much better. A long slow build up was always what I liked.

I believe men like to conquer. If you wave a white flag and give [it] up immediately they will probably take it, but it will lack the desired sense of accomplishment. I can absolutely see how TA wouldn't feel inside that JA was marriage material if she was as she appears in regards to sex.

I've experienced it both ways, and the anticipation and build up makes it much more satisfying in the end than a girl who easily offers herself sexually. I think some woman believe sex is a way to make a man like them, and they will, but not for the right reasons. He will wonder how selective they are in choosing a mate if they don't have to work for it.

If he likes you and you don't give it up right away it won't deter him. If he just likes sex and not you he won't stick around and you're better off.

I see it going both ways with men and women in my age group. Many women have the same thinking and ezpectations. Also many women and men don't want LTR's so they don't care if someone is marriage material or not. Not saying I am one of these thinkers...but I do see this a lot. The "easy" thinking goes both ways more so now.

Thanks for this. But don't you think even if women THINK that they can enjoy no-strings-attached sex, they really cannot ? I don't think women are wired that way. Maybe SOME women can but I think that MOST are kidding themselves if they think 'recreational' sex feels good to them. Every promiscuous woman I ever knew that slept around did it to receive validation from men & all these women were very insecure. They were also much less likely to take care of their sexual health.
