All of the stolen items were what I would call big ticket items for pawning. She could have pawned them in the areas where she made those deposits.

DVD and stereo's are a dime a dozen and do not bring much in a pawn shop. You can buy a brand new DVD player for less than $45 these days. The three items together would not have gotten her more than $75 or $100 total in a pawn shop, if that much.

No I think if he was selective he would have selected another house from appearance.

Not to mention that a hand gun is easier to conceal than a long gun. Obviously the burglary wasn't about making big scores.

Good point about no significant blood in the closet, although i think there were sock prints leading into the closet. I guess Travis did not bleed from being shot in the head?

I messed up, minor. The supposed closet tour took place before the gunshot. Jodi has me so confused!:blushing:

I've read there are quite a few questions from the jury in the basket for JA.
I'm already imagining the laborious, convoluted, mess of answers JA will try to reply to that poor jury with.

The jury has sat there listening to how near impossible it is to get a straight answer to EVERY question that Juan has asked this evil creature.
How JA twists & turns the questions ... Never able to give a straight-up yes/no answer to even the most basic question.

She pulls this baloney with the jury questions ... They're going to realize even more than than do already - just what a huge evasive liar that JA is.

Wonder if JA will say to a juror question (like she's said to Juan) ... "my brain
gets scrambled when people like you ask me questions"
Yeah, this should be interesting.

Nurmi's been able to in part prepare JA ahead of time for the line of questioning that
Juan would likely ask. Not so for the jury questions though - she's really gonna have to think on the fly (or go directly to her "I don't know, it's all a fog for me").
Wonder what the process is ... Can Nurmi sit over there picking his nose and yelling "arguementative" or "defendants already answered that question".

Be afraid Jodi ... Be very afraid.

Reminds me, minor, have you seen the questions in the legal thread? I put one there earlier tonight and will bring annswer also over to this thread as folks were asking same thing over and over today and wanted an AZ lawyer to address. TIA

Remember, she only took $200 or so for the dastardly deed. A cheapskate killer.

Nurmi/Wilmott will have worked this out with Martinez and Judge Stephens beforehand as the questions are selected and before they're read -- or rejected and never read -- in open court with jury present.

Good question! She testified she put it in the car but couldn't remember at what time. Before the killing or after, she can't say. It was really hot that day and heat would have destroyed her memory card. I'm not sure we heard anything about it after that. She testified on cross however, that she deleted shower photos from her phone and JM didn't ask her elaborate on that. I'm surprised she didn't steal TAs camera actually.

My BF is constantly leaving things in his pants pockets. I washed and even dried more than a few thumb drives before I learned to double check all his pockets before putting them in the washer. Oh and even after washing, or washing and drying them they ALL still worked.

She claimed it was $80 - $200 on the high side.

You bring up a good point, though.

Jodi knows where she threw that gun. If that were really Travis' gun, don't you think Jodi would have given up the location to her lawyers and the police by now?

Busted!

No kidding! Duh!

Some of Travis' friends have a theory that the gun and other special items she disposed of are at some significant mile marker along her desert drive. A number that means something to her, to her and Travis..something like that.

Lizard, that is due to "wicking" up the cardboard. If you have a flooded area with just 1/8" of water, it can wick up like that. That diesn't imply the water was that deep in the least on that bloody box in the linen closet :moo:

Granted... I can agree. IIRC JM asked if she used a glass to splash water and if that is why there were watermarks and she said yes. I guess it would depend on how long it stayed wet too. Right? Quick splash vs sitting for minutes? ??

She wanted to dis-associate herself from the murder ... how better than to stage the scene to appear like a lunatic attack (and cover the camera evidence by deleting photos, pouring chlorox on the camera, and running the wash cycle) - a la Hitchcock shower scene. It sounds like she more or less broke into the house in the middle of the night, surprised Travis - who was agreeable to crazy sex, then she murdered Travis, and vanished into the night with all sorts of cover-ups in evidence. I keep thinking of Little Red Riding Hood with the idea that she expects people to believe that she acted in self defense ... how big your mouth is, grandma.

Every time I hear little red riding hood this song pops in my mind, I don't know why.

Interesting Mark Geragos is on AC talking about how nuts JA is, yet he defended a "stone cold innocent" client, now on Death Row who isn't too far off her. Differences: Scott Peterson is a man, we don't know the level of brutality in his murder of Laci and he killed his own unborn child.

Really Geragos? You're that shocked by this sociopath? You sat right next to one just like her for months and months.

Original post by ChristYTN

ugh, sorry my double post up there. Tablet has mind of its own.

No, wait...it was ninjas.

Ok, I want to say to all of you here at WS, I'm so thankful I joined here. I finally found a home and I already love you all, all your intelligent thoughts and we are all here to be a voice to those that can no longer speak.
Not everyone gets that there are people like us out there. There is such respect for the victims and their families and loved ones .
I've never really had a place for this and never really thought there were others with my passion for trying to give that voice and strength to the ones who lost it.

thank you.
I've already made friends here and I appreciate you all.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ChristYTN -- Just wanted to thank you for the kind, sweet words you posted to all of us!

We're certainly glad you feel so at home here, so just continue to nestle in and post away. Your postings will help us look even more intelligent, I'm sure!

Apparently Megan Sharpton was someone known to you or who simply appealed to you, and you found her here. It looks like there won't be a trial for her loved ones to endure and that is a wonderful thing. And it looks like her confessed killer will be :jail: for the rest of his life. That's a good & solid ending for a senseless and awful end to the young student. I checked her thread here on WS, and saw where you were active on it.

So now you've jumped in this nasty pot with the rest of us, and we're glad to have you. I certainly hope the end of this one will be the same for TA's slayer as well -- :jail: for the rest of her life, in one way or the other.

Just wanted to say :seeya: and welcome to this case, ChristYTN! Keep us posted (!) and carry on!!

For me, the similarities in this case to the CA case is that when news first broke on the CA case I thought, young mother, unstable, unhappy and in an instant of rage, kills her offspring.
When the JA case broke I thought, young, jealous, unstable jilted girlfriend in an instant of rage, kills her ex.

As both cases have unfolded, I am stunned at the depth of diabolical depravity that each killer represents. It glues you to the case. It is hard to imagine the level of dysfunction that brought them both to murderous conclusions. Forget the instant of rage theory. Cold-blooded, Diabolical, Calculated, Pre Meditated.
It shockingly stares you right in the face.
We saw the jurors fail to see the blatantly obvious true picture in the CA case, I hope we don't see the same fail here.
