Thank you for posting that. I thought a 25 was a revolver(?). Is a 25 considered a semi-automatic? Is there recoil with this type of gun? So sorry. I have no idea about guns. And what exactly does the 25 refer to? Thank you for helping me understand. I have no one to ask

I don't know.... I think if she planned to off herself, she would not have gone through the trouble of dying her hair, lying about where she was going/making sure no one knew where she was, caring about what color car she was driving, filling gas cans so she wouldn't have to get gas in Mesa, and turning her cell phone off. I don't think she ever intended to kill herself, or stage something with the gun and that it was more of a back up weapon OR, she did just intend to shoot him, but her rage took over and she wanted to make the kill more personal.

I think she says things that she thinks will be more believable. Often you hear suicidal people claim that they aren't strong or brave enough to kill themselves (warped thinking, but that's another topic) and Jodi is BIG on taking cues from people who actually can feel and trying to act as if those are her emotions.

JMO, of course.

Well we definitely agree that she didn't intend to commit suicide. And I agree it doesn't make sense that she would go to through all that to cover up her whereabouts. Unless she was unsure of how things would turn out thus unsure of her total plan. Maybe she was covering all her bases, knowing she might not be able to follow through with shooting herself.

Otherwise, I'm left with the assumption that she wanted the gun to use to get Travis into a submissive state and to exert more control over him until she could inflict the first stab wounds. I don't think she would have carried a knife if she hadn't intended to use it, and use it she did. Some have mentioned they thought she may have run downstairs to get the knife when the gun jammed. I don't think this would have been the case, as there wasn't enough time to do that. She had to have already had the knife at the ready. jmo

someone else can answer this better than i can but i think psychopathy has a genetic component and maybe she was just a "bad seed" from the beginning..or maybe there was some genetic thing that was OFF + some vile abuse that we don't know about.. "normal" people can't fathom how an attractive, intelligent young person could go so far off....because we are "normal"!

since now I know that the camera bag was OUTSIDE the master bedroom door....I have changed my opinion that she came in and surprised him at 4am....she snuck in, got into his office on his computer, opened his camera box took camera and bag upstairs, sits down outside his bedroom door on the love sac, learns how to operate the camera...leaves the bag there, goes into his bedroom to "surprise" him....maybe at gun point...haven't figured that far yet......

I like your thinking. I can't stop wondering about the "at gunpoint" myself.

Thanks. Wow. That's tiny! I can only imagine how many bullets are in a box of ammo for a gun THAT tiny.

This is what annoys me about some people I argue with about this case. One guy says that he doesn't think that the prosecution has laid out premeditation "beyond a reasonable doubt." What?? If I am a juror and am considering whether or not someone would have a gun with NO extra ammo in their home, then I am going to say no. Which is going to tell me the gun was brought with her, and oh what a coincidence, a gun was "stolen" from the grandparents house only a week or so before the murder of the SAME exact caliber. Sure, I believe that that is all just a coincidence and that he really only had a tiny gun, that no one knew about, with 6 bullets in the ENTIRE house. Yea, and I hear that you have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell me for a great price? Be right over!

I pray to gawd that no one on the jury is this dense!! :banghead:

Many of us suspect that she was probably beginning to test the waters of her blackmail card by mid to late May.

That was the reason for the May 10 setup, references to freaky Mormon marriages, blossoming, etc. and the recording thereof.

Who only has enough bullets to a weapon they own in their home, but no extra? And finally, why in the world would you run get a gun you knew he didn't keep loaded, or at the very least, didn't know if he had loaded between the last time you saw it and the day you used it? she had a story for that too. JM just didn't let her tell it. she saw him with that gun another time. he took it somewhere. that's all she sneaked in before he cut her off. i'm sure nurmi will get that in.

for awhile, i really did think she may have worn latex gloves. they kind of shred when they get cut and the left hand (jodi's stabbin' hand) would have probably been totally exposed by the time she was done.

but i decided i don't believe she did wear them. he would've seen she had on latex gloves holding that camera? wouldn't that have been a little odd?

i also don't think she was the least bit worried about prints because everyone knew she'd been in that house so they couldn't prove anything just by that alone. it was that print and her blood she didn't count on. oh, and her hair.

man, that reminded me from 'dateline' last night----there was a pretty big hunk of her hair in the photos. i'd never seen that before.

So very close to the June 4 date. Wow. I have to wonder how responsible that text was for lighting her fuse, so to speak.

From what I understand the message he sent to her Facebook was the one where he calls her a "three-hole wonder" and that he "was nothing more than a dildo with a heartbeat for you". I really wish we could see the entire exchange at some point.

I'll so a few things out we know or can infer she did:

stalking, harassing, getting into email/social media accounts, recording him without his knowledge, threatening to out recordings (and videos?) to demean him.....perhaps also bothering his friends to get to him.

Someone like Jodi would be- enraged at rejection, enraged at him confronting her with her behavior/nature, attempt to intimidate him into doing what she wanted. She killed him because none of her other methods worked and she would not be able to just let it go. Ever. :moo:

ETA: When she testified on direct I thought I saw rage at TA show it's face at times. IMO she is still enraged at TA.

I know it is almost like she got on drugs or something ...but then again it is very hard for a "normal" person to understand what makes "these" people tick.
