I understand you totally. My Mom has been passed for 4-years now. I was with her when she past, worse day of my life. Your song brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry for the O/T

Court resuming in 3 minutes???

It'll be 10 years at the end of March for me. I held her hand as she took that last breath. Pop, who had been dozing, sat up all of a sudden and looked at me... I shook my head and he got up and held her other hand for a few minutes. Then we called Hospice to come help us.

I cry with good thoughts of Mom and the love I have for her. I miss her every single day of the last 10 years, but she's still with us in our hearts.

I'm a Mormon in a house full of hunters with many many many guns, nope, no rules against them.

Thank you! That was my assumption, but you know what they say about those who assume. . . .

Not necessarily... He could have been there to 'conquer his fears' (something I believe he would talk about in his motivational speeches/blog posts) or to fit in with his guy friends who did own and like guns.

There is no evidence that Travis owned a gun (particularly a loaded one on an open shelf). None of his friends or people that knew him well say he owned a gun (including the friend who gave the video to the media - specifically to show and explain his best friend didn't own a gun, but borrowed one for target practice).

There IS evidence that a .25 was stolen from the house JA lived in, and there IS evidence that Travis was shot with a .25, and there IS evidence that JA was there - and JA has admitted to shooting him with the .25 and then hiding /disposing of it.

To me, the bulk of the latter evidence (including physical evidence: Grandpa owned a .25, stolen in a suspicious robbery, .25 ammo found at Mom's house, etc.) FAR outweighs the total lack of evidence regarding Travis owning (or even liking - would he tell his guy friends he didn't? I dunno) firearms.

Whether Travis liked guns, for that matter isn't relevant imv...
I bet he liked knives, too, he had several in his kitchen and likely used them often. :)

I'm not trying to sound snarky - please don't think that - I'm just making general points on this issue that I've gone over in my head... :)

And by the way: WELCOME, ElleElle! :)
Great post! Just wanted to add my :twocents: If the pistol belonged to Travis, and he was shot with it, why didn't she just leave his gun at the crime scene. Why take it and dispose of it in the desert? Because it was her grandfather's pistol, she stole in order to murder Travis, that's why.

Yeah, but there is so much more too it than that! I cannot believe the defense fell for it. This Dave Hall guy gave this video of Travis and buddies shooting Dave's guns. Dave's whole point in this was that TRAVIS DID NOT OWN A GUN! Whenever they went shooting, Travis had to borrow a gun. So, this is how guy buddies with guns work. My DH is a hunter and sport shooter and he has guy buddies who do the same sort of stuff. They are always talking about someone's new gun, or trying them out at the range, or buying a new scope or some new gun oil, or boring stuff like that. Dave will testify that IF Travis had bought or otherwise gotten a gun, he (Dave) would have heard about it or seen it or tried it or fired it. DAVE was at Travis's house the week before he was murdered. He stayed there with Travis doing some kind of work. TRAVIS NEVER MENTIONED THIS GUN that our little miss claimed was there. Not to mention that she told Det. FLores that "Travis did not own a gun.....AND I WOULD KNOW"

Sheesh.....can they get any dumber?????

True that! He would have consulted Dave and possibly his police officer sister before buying a firearm.

And we start with another sidebar.

he went shooting right before he was killed and he told his friends he did not have a gun.

If he had one illegal or legal, he would have taken it. I have friends that go shooting all the time.

some have guns that are not registered, or another way of saying, illegal.

It's possible Jodi ditched them with the gun, no? She has lied many times before...

but she didn't lie about him owning the gun that she killed him with. . .um. . .kay. . .

Friends in quotations.. is there any reason to think David Hall was not a friend of TAs?
*Apparently no one knew about this gun besides JA, a pathological liar, who originally said TA did NOT have a gun and if he did have a gun, she would know.
*A .25 caliber is from my understanding a pretty lame gun, not one that a gun enthusiast would have as their sole gun. He didn't have any ammo in the home and she didn't report it was in a container or anything.. or having to undo a safety or load it.. Who keeps a loaded gun sitting on a shelf with the safety off? Especially someone who has knowledge of how to use a gun (as the video is apparently going to show)!
*Conveniently, a week or so earlier JA's grandparents home (the same home JA lives in) was burgled, and the gun was stolen, never recovered, no arrests ever made.
She is completely unbelievable. Nothing about TA having a gun conveniently loaded in his closet makes any sense.
MOO. :moo::moo::moo:

Not only was it loaded but being an automatic, in order for her to fire it as she has claimed she did, means that it would also have to had a bullet in it that was already chambered (meaning not in the clip). (which is extremely unsafe) Wonder if there was anyway for them to have tested the ammunition that was left at her grandparents house against the bullet found in his cheek and the casing on the floor?

Nurmi wants to discuss the lack of snacks at the defence table, and is wondering if a vending machine could not be brought into courtroom for long sessions...
