Judge just said "okay" and handed the DT a piece of paper. ????

Sorry if someone has already said this - but I suspect something in Jodi's testimony "opened the door" to something the defense is trying desperately to keep out.

What is the defense trying desperately to keep out?

Ok I seriously am assuming they're going to drag this sidebar out til 5:30. No wonder trials take so long out there, they only hold court for a few hours a day and only a few days a week and then sidebars for this long.

I love JM. *Sighs*

OT-I really like the ignore option here.

wooooooo. Jodi hiding her eyes. I wonder if she's meditating or really unhappy about what is coming up.

Maybe she's trying to astral project herself somewhere else and put somebody else in her body on the witness stand!

Yep. They seem to be reviewing transcripts together...

I'd like to see the gun then!! (my opinion, that's all)
And my point was that I don't need to physically view it to believe she stole it. ;) My opinion only.

Considering she has admitted to killing Travis, Travis was killed using a .25, and a .25 was stolen from the home where the defendant was living at the time of the crime I don't think its much of a stretch.

And I don't believe it will be for the jury either. That's too big of a coincidence to easily reconcile imo.

I'm in Canada, maybe this is what it means to me. "reasonable doubt" and noted that "[t]he correct explanation of the requisite burden of proof is essential to ensure a fair criminal trial."

Are you a lawyer...or just voicing your opinion, in reference to Canadian law??

Not trying to be snarky....there's a process where you can get "vetted"(?) and become a "verified" member.

This trial gave me a severe carb craving which I staved off all weekend. Just made brownies. My crutch to get me through this afternoon's testimony.

Thanks, I thought I had read that somewhere -- something about journals from the early days of the Mormons being an invaluable historical record.

IMO, Jodi kept that journal thinking that someone would read it. Travis, maybe? It seems to be carefully crafted to present a specific picture of herself. Diane Downs did the same thing, for the same reason, and was very insistent that the cops take it (and read it). But since Jodi's seems to contradict everything she is saying now, I think it backfired on her.

Speaking of journals I saw long time ago on TA MySpace about HIS journaling in a post on his blog.. So do we know if TA's journal is somewhere?? Maybe he wrote about Jodi's "crazy crackers"actions?

I thought so, too. Jodi heaved a huge sigh shortly after she began testifying and seems nervous and is trying very hard to be controlled. If and when she lets go of her very controlled emotions and demeanor, she will to ballistic. :moo:

I think she's simply playing another role: one of a person who seems upset, shaken, fragile...

I do NOT believe it's authentic. Not for a second. She has little flashes of competitive ire that belie any authenticity of her demeanor today. She was schooled by her DT after they read and heard *everywhere* about how damaging her attitude last Thursday was perceived by just about everyone.

Good idea!:rocker:

The Jury will not feel there was any reasonable doubt.

Doubt is up to the Jury

Maybe Juan is trying to get the forged letters in for impeachment. That would be risky though, IMO

I said this earlier but I'll state it again. The "who's gun was it" issue comes down to Occam's Razor - as in the most simplest hypothesis is usually the true one.

Is it more believable that Travis had a .25 that he hid in his closet with no ammo and none of his friends ever knew about it and he never registered for one,

OR

Is it more believable that JA had stolen a .25 from her grandfather (which was confirmed he had one), brought it with her, shot TA with it and then disposed of it?

So would I, but the killer conveniently made sure it was unavailable for inspection.

And a popgun that he didn't use for target shooting, and was located in an obscure place that even HE couldn't reach without a stool, and without any ammo that wasn't already in the gun? That's not common sense.

I keep a loaded pistol in my closet out of reach. I do have a box of bullets in a lock box.
