OK this is how we know he did not choke her unconscious.

1. Bad argument that leads to choking would traumatize her, and cause her brain to scramble which makes the information leak out her ears and disappear.

2. Going unconscious means she would not know because well, she is unconscious. So Travis would see her wake up and simply say "oh honey? taking a power nap?"
