Snap! I also doubt Juan cares whether or not he's irritating anyone who works in that courthouse.

He's got a job and he's knocking it outta the ballpark. I don't think he notices any of the gnats flying around his head, internet or in person.
Yes, just trying to get JA to answer a simple yes or no question is keeping Juan a bit busy.

I was in shock how well it worked for her today, when he was about to say "so even though you lied because you didn't want the details of your relationship with Travis to get out, you just spent 8 days telling all those details here right?"

and so it began, she said 9 day, then no, it's only 9 days because someone told her it was, and it worked, he went off on that for quite awhile. It was an abbott and costello moment, (who's on first").

She is no amature.

This is where it started, and continued throughout, but this judge has no control, she should tell her to answer the question. But all the judge does is say sustained, overruled and sidebar.

She should control her courtroom and I see nothing of that at all.
She is letting Jodi take control and we have seen 10 days of that.
Enough already.
This is your court, not the jester Jodi.

Yes, I posted about it looking like she was cutting her own throat. I think it was right before the lunch break. It was a fast gesture like she was trying to wipe a tear near her neck area. I also keep hearing how she touches her throat area to self-soothe herself.

During a long, difficult period of testimony today she had her left hand placed firmly against the left side of her neck. She kept it there a really, really long time.

I don't know if anyone has wondered about this or if this has been discussed, I apologize in advance if this has. The threads are so long and I have a hard time keeping up LOL

Jodi had a rental car. Why did she have a case of water from Costco in her trunk??? Her receipts show that she purchased water and other beverages along the way. I think this was part of her PREMEDITATION planning it all out well in advance. She knew ahead of time that she would need to clean up, Rather than risk going into an establishment being seen and maybe getting caught on a video thus bringing attention to herself. If I were traveling, I would have the water in the front or back seat so it would be available. Not the trunk!!!!!!!!!

Actually that didn't phase me because I always keep a case of water in my car all the time, too. It is a lot cheaper and more convenient then stopping to buy a bottle whenever I am thirsty

------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a fascinating communication strategy game Jodi is playing. A serious head game!

Seems that Nurmi has figured out JM's irritants, and has her beating them to a pulp. It's when Jodi doesn't simply answer "yes" or "no." She does this by "wordsmithing," adjusting her answer to a more precise declaration, per HER view. It makes him kraaaazy, because she REFUSES to follow his orders for a simple yes or no.

He's fighting a futile battle to control Jodi's answers. A couple of times, he was so exasperated that he was at a loss for words. His arms were spinning in the air for a couple of seconds, without a word coming out.

Separately, JA truly doesn't understand some of JM's lawyerly, confusing double-negatives. (I don't either.) And there are times when he leaves off phrases that would make more clear which date or guy or whatever he's bounced back to.

During these times, when JA needs him to repeat a question, he feels he stated it perfectly so grows frustrated. (But he hasn't.) He thinks she's just pretending. I think sometimes she is, but many times she isn't. Some of his sentence constructions truly are awkward. But to him, it's kind of a sly put down, I'm sure.

His frustration with getting sentences out is sometimes palpable.

That seems to be the strategy Nurmi has coached JA on. And she's been told to do all of this in a tinier, more demure, sadder persona. It's sending JM to the moon, and it probably won't stop.

I love your post!!!!!! As this is exactly what JM wants jurors to believe! And he has DONE IT from your standpoint so I applaud him!

You did read the posts we have been doing that link to "how to interview a sociopath" right!

Your post made my night! Juan is indeed JAUNDERFUL!!!!!!!! And I love this thread as we are now able to recognize sociopaths much more easily!

Sorry, people keep mentioning songs that this reminds them of. Unfortunately, this is the song that keeps popping into my head :(

"You're So Last Summer"
By Taking Back Sunday

She said
"don't, don't let it go to your head
Boys like you are a dime a dozen,
Boys like you are a dime a dozen"
She said
"you're a touch overrated,
you're a lush and I hate it
but these grass stains on my knees
they won't mean a thing"

And all I (all I)
Need to know (need to know)
Is that I'm something you'll be missing
(is that I'm something that you're missing)
(maybe I should hate you for this)
Maybe I should hate you for this
Never really did ever quite get that far
(maybe I should hate you for this)
Maybe I should hate you for this
Never really did ever quite get that...

I'd never lie to you
Unless I had to
I'll do what I got to
Unless I had to
I'll do what I got to, the truth
is you could slit my throat
And with my one last gasping breath
I'd apologize for bleeding on your shirt

And all I (all I)
Need to know (need to know)
Is that I'm something you'll be missing
(is that I'm something that you're missing)
(maybe I should hate you for this)
Maybe I should hate you for this
Never really did ever quite get that far
(maybe I should hate you for this)
Maybe I should hate you for this
Never really did ever quite get that...

Cause I'm a wishful thinker with the worst intentions
This'll be last chance you get to drop my name
Cause I'm a wishful thinker with the worst intentions
This'll be last chance you get to drop my name

If I'm just bad news, then you're a liar (Maybe I should...)
If I'm just bad news, then you're a liar (...hate you for this)
If I'm just bad news, then you're a liar (Maybe I should...)
If I'm just bad news, then you're a liar (...hate you for this)
If I'm just bad news, then you're a liar (Maybe I should...)
If I'm just bad news, then you're a liar (...hate you for this)
If I'm just bad news, then you're a liar (Maybe I should...)
If I'm just bad news, then you're a liar (...hate you for this)

Maybe I should hate you for this
(If only you knew half as much as you pretend to)
Maybe I should hate you for this

Does anyone believe she really just pulled over and slept
in her car or a u haul just where ever?

  • #830
Ohh my.. I saw it!! at 29:37
but no shot of JA looking at Nurmi.. hmm maybe WildAboutTrial (new to WS on the court observer site) can review their cams for another view?
Nurmi may not have gotten her attention..
Juan could resolve this so easy himself.. question her closer to his side as JA looks at the Jury when she answers.. JA would have to turn her head to her attorneys would be so much More Obvious ya think?

We need to see the Jodi, the judge, and Nurmi at the same time. My guess is the judge was looking down and Nurmi was getting away with coaching using signs to Jodi.

If this can be proven, I want to know from one of our expert lawyers what punishment could be given out.

I agree that Juan can help stop any coaching by staying to the opposite side to keep her eyes away from Nurmi.

To me, it was obvious coaching. Never saw it before in a trial till now. I cant believe he was doing that.

I am guessing that Juan is really trying to disprove her outrageous allegations about Travis for his family. To them, it is just as important as proving she killed him. I think Juan is making an effort to disprove her allegations and also prove she killed him. Both are important to the family.

Yes, to clear his good name. Just think, if he were alive and she made heinous false allegations of this nature, she could be sued for slander and libel... well, I'm not a lawyer, but something like that. She's such a despicable, evil person, I really do detest her.

Aw, thanks :)
There could have been water (pretty foolish to drive that far in the desert without supplies, especially water) but there wasn't any blood all over her hands - suddenly noticed when coming out of a daze (that didn't happen) or otherwise.

I believe she was clean. She took great lengths to avoid detection and notice. She would do the same when leaving the house... be as unnoticeable and unmemorable as possible. Just someone walking to a car - if seen by a neighbor getting their mail, etc. Would be forgotten within seconds.

Even if she was only a little bloody - would she take the chance that someone (one of those people that leave ads hanging on the doorknob or in little bags with pebbles on the drive/front walk) might randomly run into her and be alarmed by blood - any amount of blood? No - she wouldn't have done that. imv. :)

Definitely right on point, my thoughts were she straddled Travis in the shower to clean off; forensic experts were on target for the entire crime.. sure JA could have had water with her bc of desert, heck she thought of gas cans; washed her own sliced up hand with a water bottle; betcha they were deep cuts and bandaids weren't doing the job for everything she had to use her hands for.. her bloody clothes, knife may have seeped out of a handle baggy onto the back seat (koolaid stain? right)..
JA did say she found the charger under the seat, bloody hand onto the floor mats maybe? those had to be tossed for a reason; curious to know just what she used to clean the steering wheel, door handles etc.. she mentioned gloves...

Still curious about the Tags.. does AZ have front tags on their cars? TIA

EXACTLY – I can't wait lol JM is going to eat her alive. I think we got a little taste of it today with his remark about how it must have really hurt him when she drove the knife in...........WOW it caught me by surprise. Do you think he is going to put up some of the autopsy pics to show her what she can't remember? I think it will get down to the nitty gritty tomorrow!! I can't wait to see how she reacts when she has to explain the stab wounds as well. I'm still trying to figure out why she took the rope with her????? I wonder if she wrapped the rope around him to help pull him down the hall???? It being covered in blood?????? That's about the only reason I can thin of. When she got out of the car she didn't have her shoes on said that she couldn't find and had to wear her “professional” shoes HUH????? I didn't see anywhere that they recovered her shoes at the crime scene???? So what did she do with her shoes??????

I lived in Orlando during CA ordeal and miss getting the “document dumps”. With this trial I really missed not getting depo's and all of the other discovery docs. We would sit there like little kids that you are dangling a lollipop in front of-- just waiting for those docs LOL Sad sad lot we were and for that case to end as it did. …......I will never understand it.

I admit, the Florida laws created a full disclosure environment that was addicting. I scoured over every text message, IM, police transcripts. We were spoiled and that made it all the more disappointing that we all knew what evidence was not being used in powerful ways. I don't see this occurring in this trial. Although I think they are both psychopathic killers, JA taking the stand is a huge differentiation from the FCA trial. I have to admit, I find this trial far more compelling for so many different reasons. I'd explain, but I am fading and need to get some sleep.

From my reading there are currently 3 women on Arizona's Death Row, but no women have yet to be executed yet

The following is a list of individuals executed by the U.S. State of Arizona since capital punishment was resumed in 1976. All of the 34 individuals were convicted of murder and have been executed at Florence State Prison in Florence, Arizona

The last woman executed in the USA was in 2010 by lethal injection in Virginia

IMHO - I think she uses the sleep excuse to fill in gaps. Either that or she's a narcoleptic.

:what:

Absolutely not. I am a female and never would I just pull over wherever jn a truck and sleep. I would be very scared. But this is the invincible Jodi, so who knows with her.

I would also would not go panning for gold with 5 men after I just killed a man in self defence.

  • #838
I bet she filled up the blue bottles from
walmart with water to clean up.

She stated she had plenty of gloves.

Ha ! Her memory did return before she threw out the floor mats though
didn't it. She may have to explain that.

Thank you! With your direction, I was able to find it.

Jodi Arias Trial - Day 22 - Part 1 - YouTube

For anyone interested, it starts around 1:26:04. However, to me it looks like she is wiping "tears" from her chin.

LOL That's how it looked to me too. This.... uh, viper (so many other things I want to call her) may want to be careful about any slashing movements she makes because she puts people on edge and is probably sending the wrong messages.

I think the sleep thing is a convenient excuse to fill in gaps in time, but I do think she also seems like she has this sense of entitlement and feels like there is nothing wrong with her sleeping where ever she feels like sleeping...like you know, at your ex-boyfriend's house when he is out on a date. Right. You accidentally fell asleep because it wouldn't at all look weird or cause problems if they walked in the door and you were there...sleeping.
