I'm not a legal eagle, but during Elizabeth Johnson's trial, her atty brought up that inmates are only given 2 meals a day, and if they want to eat more, they need to buy snacks. EJ was allowed to bring part of her breakfast to court as her lunch.

But it was reported by NG when she visited the jail that they got peanut butter sandwiches for lunch.

she went from the innocent victim who was embarrassed to say the word "penis," to the combative aggressor who, of her own free will, blurts out "j**z" in reference to ejaculation..

i hope the jury remembers that.

She blurted out "j**z" for real? That's what I get for watching HLN's broadcast of the trial. Heck, they for some reason think ejaculation is a bad word and cut the sound on that word.

Sorry but the word "j**z" is something only porns and teens use for the most part. I don't recall talking to any female adult who uses the term and believe me my friends and I can have some very dirty conversations.

Bias tria

With all due respect, the Judge is still dealing with other cases *before* the Arias trial even starts at 1030 iirc moo

Correct me if I'm wrong....please

Yes, I understand the judge is doing other court business earlier in the mornings, which is why this trial starts so late.

Estrella Jail does not provide "lunch" for the inmates, they get two meals a day.
Brunch sack or what the inmates like to call a ladmo bag.
She is supposed to be bringing her brunch sack with her to court if she wants to eat.

Here is a video of Nancy Grace in the kitchen area of Estrella Jail. (16:09)

Arias has been inside long enough and attended enough hearings.. and she knows the deal...

she is playing GAMES.

Could have been just for show....

I forgot the question I was going to ask as I read your second paragraph.
Do Victim's rights EVER trump defendants or criminal's rights??
This just deflated me. It's never really over, is it?

In a DP case it will go on for decades and drag families through the mud right up until the time they are executed , if it ever happens.

For the most part though we dont have to be involved. But when we have had to, it's brutal and goes on for a LONG time. I don't even read the letters I get informing me of stuff every month or so. I just told my advocate to call me if it's essential, otherwise I won't be reading.

Rarely do victim's rights trump theirs but now with the victims bill of rights victims families can stay in the courtroom even if they are going to be recalled to testify such as in our case. But as I posted, it can still be appealed on, ridiculously and expensively.

Tylenol won't help make the bleeding worse if you cut yourself. Aspirin keeps blood from clotting. That's why doctors have some people take an aspirin each day to prevent heart attacks and strokes.

The inmates are provided 2600 calories per day.
According to the guard @ Estrella NG interviewed, they are allowed to bring their b-fast or whatever leftovers to the courthouse with them.
I don't see the problem.

Arias has a migraine starting at 4:30 p.m. each day? I didn't hear him make this request when he was presenting his direct exam of Arias.

Dear Lord, what about the jury during direct. Bet they all went out and bought pain meds to sit through that testimony. By the end of the week they'll be ready to beat her with a wooden spoon. jmo

If she is able to buy snacks....I believe she has no excuse. I'm sure she has money in her canteen from her parents and possibly people who support her. I just don't trust JA whatsoever.

Thanks for the information.:rocker:

I asked Mr Pizza to put in to words what his point of view is at this point. I pointed out last night it occurred to me he doesn't follow the case like we do, word for word, video, opinions on just about everything . He comes home and watches the Aft. testimony and truly plays Devils advocate with me everyday to the point of an argument. Then I realized he was a damm good 13th juror.

Here is what he had to say as I asked him to type so I could share here.

Mr Pizza's words..

To me the biggest question was the change of weapons. If the shooting came before the stabbing as she claims, why did she put down a loaded gun to get the knife? If she were truly in fear for her life she would have pulled the trigger again and again until the gun was empty, followed by using the gun as a club. The only reason to put down the gun and get the knife was to mutilate her victim. If the stabbings came first, then after he was stabbed 29 times and his throat slashed ear to ear he certainly wasn't threatening her life, why then go get the gun and shoot him in the head? Again only to assure the death of the defenseless victim. So to me, the fact that both weapons were used indicate it cannot be self defense. There was either an intent to kill and mutilate or mutilate and kill with no other explanation.

Okay Mr. Pizza... you need to join websleuths!!!:rocker:

It's hard to keep up with all the posts, so this may have been addressed, but I had a different perception of the lunch issue (maybe I didn't hear it correctly or missed the part about her being hungry). Nurmi said that the Sheriff's Office was not PROVIDING lunch for her. I doubt she's not being fed; the SO is just not PAYING for it or sending along a bag lunch. It is THEIR responsibility to feed her, not the DT's.

As far as the 4:30 "drop dead" deadline, it didn't even occur to me that it had anything to do with JA; just someone on the team had some sort of time-sensitive thing going on, like picking the kid up from pre-school or some such thing.

As far as the migraine goes, she did not appear to be having a headache when she was on the stand, so I'm assuming that's a ploy. If her mother and aunt were thrilled about the delay, they are assuming ANY delay is a GOOD delay and a "win" for the defense. Ummm, how about ending court early only gives JM even MORE time to find or think of things to grill her about or, at the very least, he gets a little more rest and is, thus, more refreshed when court starts again? And who pumps their fist at really good news when said good news is that their daughter/niece is in agonizing pain? Of course, considering said child is JA, that might be the best they can hope for as far as disciplining her goes (aside from that whole prison/death penalty thing).

ETA: Okay, now I've seen that it's true that prisoners don't get fed until they get back and that that is SOP.

O/T
*is there anyone that would be willing to help me?
I just got tapatalk.

My age is showing!
What do I do now?
I added Websleuths and logged in.
There was one post there and a forward/back button at the bottom .
I could not forward.

Somehow it logged me off and I don't get it.

Anyone have a link to how to use it?

You can message me here.
I don't want to derail the thread.

Mark my words. Once she's convicted and sentenced to death, this afternoon's testimony will be appealed. They will say the testimony she gave basically agreeing with the State that she was consensual in the sexual relationship and not abused or manipulated was based on her having a migraine and not getting enough calories thus rendering her confused.

that's what we have to look forward to in a few years.

Katie, I have two thoughts on this. First, when Nurmi went to Jodi on the stand, he told her he needed more time and for her to fake illness and maybe the information Juan was getting ready to present took the defense by surprise somehow and Nurmi felt Jodi wasn't rehearsed for it.

About an appeal, I agree with that. Such a shame.

Why didn't Mr.Nurmi get her a granola bar out of the machine on break?

I get severe, chronic migraines. They are completely debilitating. Even as they're coming on well before they hit their peak, other people can tell I'm in misery. Light, sound, and movement become unbearable. I can't keep my head up, I have to ice it, lie down, if I'm driving or working everything has to stop. If you have a bad migraine, you cannot function. If you have a headache that you're labelling a migraine to get out of work or say a murder trial-- you can power through.

I'm going to call BS on her migraine. JMO.

That has always been a pet peeve of mine, too. I have had these things since onset of puberty (153 years ago, :floorlaugh:) and they are just the worst. The aura, numbness, tingling, nausea and then WHAM the excruciating pain.

And when I hear people with a tension or sinus headache say they have a migraine. :what:........it cheeses me off.

That said, I have had a migraine that was triggered by not eating. Also from too much caffeine, red wine, stress, or the luteal phase of my cycle!

There are many triggers.

I think Jodi is full of crap, though.
