I get severe, chronic migraines. They are completely debilitating. Even as they're coming on well before they hit their peak, other people can tell I'm in misery. Light, sound, and movement become unbearable. I can't keep my head up, I have to ice it, lie down, if I'm driving or working everything has to stop. If you have a bad migraine, you cannot function. If you have a headache that you're labelling a migraine to get out of work or say a murder trial-- you can power through.

I'm going to call BS on her migraine. JMO.

I don't understand why she isn't sent with a sack lunch. If its been a problem all along, why hasn't her lawyer either brought her a pb&j everyday or say something sooner?

I have zero concern for Jodi. But IMO she should be able to eat lunch

I was going to post that she's lying until I read this. I frankly think this is not good. They eat around 4:00 am and then not again until 6:00 pm? That could lead to appellate issues.

Seriously? How does that affect her testimony? Who has fainted from lack of lunch- raise your hands.

IMO let JA use all her stall tactics, avoidance, snarky remarks, smirks, smiles, etc. Give her lunch...whatever she wants because when it is all said and done she has already admitted to the murder and using not just one, but three (shooting, stabbing and slashing throat) modes of murder is beyond a reasonable self defense excuse.

IMO, the jury is seeing Jodi for what she really is...an evader, avoider and a liar.

Her dimness and lack of memory are not act...she is so busy thinking of the next question, the next lie, the next jab that she cannot remember what she was asked.

Mark my words. Once she's convicted and sentenced to death, this afternoon's testimony will be appealed over. They will say the testimony she gave basically agreeing with the State that she was consensual in the sexual relationship and not abused or manipulated was based on her having a migraine and not getting enough calories thus rendering her confused.

that's what we have to look forward to in a few years.

i'd like to know what the lawyers here think about that, just out of curiosity.

They really should be giving her lunch or allow her attorneys to bring her lunch. I don't care what the jail procedures are, when someone is in the middle of a capital murder trial, they should be given proper nutrition.

This is just my opinion only, and I agree with you completely, but it is highly suspect that they waited more than three weeks into the trial and chose to bring it up in open court when it was convenient for them to do so.

I highly doubt that their motivation was their concern for her welfare.

i do agree she of course needs to have some sort of food provided but i call bs on it.

if she or anyone else in that jail doesn't like the rules i'll again draw their attention to this:

“If they don’t like it, I would highly recommend not coming to jail,” said Sheriff Arpaio.

JA is supposed to innocent until proven guilty. Had she $$ she would be out on bail. I can see strict rules for convicted criminals but considering she has not been convicted yet, she should be fed. I have despised Arpaio for years now. Has nothing to do with his feeding rules toward JA.

He was just slipping in her height for the jury. She is no little waif, and they never see her standing.

In her effort to change the jury's mind she is now a starving waif with a migraine.

Which by the way we know from her texts last less than 4 hours.

She better be fine tomorrow or Juan might bring it back up.!

I can't even begin to describe how disgusted I am with this defense attorney. He is dislikable, petty, childish, churlish, arrogant and unprofessional. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but he makes Jose Baez look good.

This judge NEEDS to take control of her courtroom. This is not Nurmi's courtroom, it is HER courtroom. When on earth has anyone heard of an attorney dictating the hours court will be in session? Anyone remember Judge Belvin Perry saying he would work them six days a week, 12 hours a day if necessary?

NOthing could make Baez look "better". :wink: Judge Perry was all bluster but he rarely, if ever, followed through with his threats. ESPECIALLY about contempt in his courtroom. I'll take this Judge. If Juan wanted her to be admonished, he would ask and she would.

Nurmi only looks like he's controlling the court. Unfortunately, the Judge has to take the defendant's rights into consideration. I hate it.

To Jodi Arias a headache is a migraine.

I say her facade was cracking...she was getting off on the "j i z z " talk with Juan, she was sparring with him, she was admitting things like how much she enjoyed the sex and having her face ejaculated on (which she actuallly asked for), for once she wasn't blaming everything on Travis. Nurmi freaked out and suggested she wasn't stable enough to continue for the afternoon, asked her if her head hurt and she agreed, asked her if she got enough to eat for lunch so decided she had a migraine and was starving so she couldn't continue.

Surely her going off script wasn't his fault for not coaching her well enough so he had to stop that freight train coursing through the courtroom called "Jodi Arias Sociopathy". He didn't expect it so just had to stop it.

Guess what Nurmi? You won't be able to control this. She is at the mercy of her personality disorder and if Juan Martinez pops through the cracks, there it will be.

And there's nothing you can do about it. Stalling just delays the inevitable.

You beat me to it. I was just going to post this but now I don't have to. Jodi came back after the lunch break and nullified her answers during Nurmi's last three weeks of examination. She was giving conflicting answers to JM persistent cross examination and the answers did not match her earlier answers while she was being direct examined. Nurmi had to do something drastic to stop the bleeding for the day to give the defense time to figure out how to "fix" this.

Up thread there is a quote from Maricopa county saying it is a class 2 felony if anyone besides the sheriff or deputies were to give her any food.

I don't have a link to the video, but on NG they toured the jail and a guard showed her the meals. They get two cold/bag meals and one hot meal a day. The two cold are breakfast and lunch and the hot is dinner. They even showed the packaged cold meals and NG tried the hot meal.

This will not be grounds for appeal, and it won't even be argued as such. When the issue was raised, the judge excused her, so there's nothing to complain about at this point.

I don't think they brought this up to give them an appeal point, I think they wanted to stop the bleeding for today.

Love it. At 28 years old this dude is an adult....how disgusting. I do like this judge....but the Pinellas 12 not so much. I wouldn't mind seeing him take on JA though.
