He was just slipping in her height for the jury. She is no little waif, and they never see her standing.

This is only the cross of Arias. Rebuttal and closing yet to come, and will all be laid out neat and tidy, don't worry.

Quoting myself to make a correction. They do, of course, see her standing up on the raised witness stand, but that gives a distorted view - I meant in comparison to and beside other people

She seemed to be really enjoying talking about her sexual adventures and shocking them with certain words. It was making her look real bad. Her lawyers had to get her out of there before she did more damage. JMO

she went from the innocent victim who was embarrassed to say the word "penis," to the combative aggressor who, of her own free will, blurts out "j**z" in reference to ejaculation..

i hope the jury remembers that.

Yes, but at this point, this is pre-trial detention, and she has not yet been convicted of anything. Jail should not be easy or fun, but providing 3 meals a day to a defendant in trial is not exactly pampering a detainee.

Agreed. Thankfully the matter has been resolved (MCSO has agreed to provide her with lunches from now on) so I'm not sure why the "court can't go a moment past 4:30" request/demand would still hold...

At least we start a little earlier tomorrow! :)

JA is such a victim. She can't even get her basic needs met, like food.

 • #125
I have. I have low blood sugar though.

Me too!

I'm also worried about this coming back as an appeals issue. How frustrating.

I do seriously have a headache, so I'm calling it a night! :seeya:

It is not that simple. I read about a woman that Sheriff Arpaio's office held for three months on suspicion of being an illegal alien. She was not and actually had her birth certificate with her when arrested. They contended it was a fake. It was genuine and she was released. She did nothing to be put in jail other than look Latina.

I agree. And she should have lunch. She is on trial now and we don't need any excuses for a mistrial.
I mean, I don't like the woman, but she should have lunch. I just "Hope" she's not lying. That would be a stupid move, but it won't be her first.

I don't have a link to the video, but on NG they toured the jail and a guard showed her the meals. They get two cold/bag meals and one hot meal a day. The two cold are breakfast and lunch and the hot is dinner. They even showed the packaged cold meals and NG tried the hot meal.
so if this is true she is getting 3 meals. Although, it does not mean that they are allowed to save one of the cold bags for later....they may be forced to eat both cold meals at one time and not save any for later...don't know. So now I am confused...does she or does she not get 3 meals?

I like minor4th's point....she needs adequate meals so there is NO recourse later for a new trial or a mistrial.

I am not sure if the jury is sympathetic but I agree with you with about the prosecution. He brought up the KY and Vaseline and I have no idea why. IMO, he needed to bring his point home then. What was Martinez getting at regarding the hiking pics with TA, JA and the bro and sis and their heights? Was anyone standing on the rock? IDK what he was trying to prove with question either.

Here's my take on it, if my memory serves me correctly:

Martinez got JA to say that she had previously testified that her previous bf used KY when they had anal sex, and that's why she suggested it to TA.

However, as I remember, Numi controlled her direct testimony on the subject to stop short of saying WHY they used it. As I remember, she just said for their sexual activity - without specifying what kind.

So #1 - she lied, because she hadn't testified about the anal sex; and

#2 - Numi tried hard to lay out on direct to equate TA & JA having anal sex because TA was a pervert who liked boys - BUT, that no longer flies since JA admits to doing it with someone other than TA.

IMHO - tah dah!

Estrella Jail does not provide "lunch" for the inmates, they get two meals a day.
Brunch sack or what the inmates like to call a ladmo bag.
She is supposed to be bringing her brunch sack with her to court if she wants to eat.

Here is a video of Nancy Grace in the kitchen area of Estrella Jail. (16:09)

this is a great insight to what she does everyday.

I am curious? Was the gentleman behind Travis' sisters (in the front row) with folded arms, clinched jaw and angry lips also one of the brothers? He looked like he was?

 • #131
The line of questioning re the KY was to disprove the myth that JA was this little faltering victim of Travis' sexual perversion. JA introduced it to HIM. As far as the rock picture, JM was trying to show that Travis wasnt that much taller than JA, therefore it wouldn't be impossible for her to overpower him, drag his body etc? JMO.

I remember one of Travis' friends (can't remember which one - maybe the one with the sister that went to the Grand Canyon with them??) saying Jodi was a little taller than Travis...

.

again, why isn't her DT getting her some lunch? <modsnip>

I believe it is against the rules for her to eat anything besides te jail food. I recall as far back as OJ that when his Dream Team was fed by famous LA restaurants, they could not let him have any of the food. Inmates are in the custody of the jail who provides their food, clothing, shelter.

This will not be grounds for appeal, and it won't even be argued as such. When the issue was raised, the judge excused her, so there's nothing to complain about at this point.

I don't think they brought this up to give them an appeal point, I think they wanted to stop the bleeding for today.

so they're lying about the real reason.

I don't understand why she isn't sent with a sack lunch. If its been a problem all along, why hasn't her lawyer either brought her a pb&j everyday or say something sooner?

I have zero concern for Jodi. But IMO she should be able to eat lunch

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

According to the article someone cited, it's a federal offense for her attorney's to give her something to eat.

I'm not at all surprised by this. I am surprised Nurmi didn't somehow let the jury know that the poor baby is being abused by the sheriff!

 • #136
Yeah, at least I found youtubes for today that I missed! The one after lunch that I missed is at

Juan wanted JA to admit that she knew who Travis was taking Mimi on that trip......on June 2.

Isn't that the day she went to see MM?

I believe in the Constitution. Everybody deserves a defense. The DT is doing what they can considering their horror of a client. There were a few moments the camera caught the DT with jaws dropped at Jodi's disgusting performance. IMO, the DT is just ready for it to be over. They have no choice but to be there.

Seriously? Like her defence team couldn't have *****ed about it at the beginning of trial if it was such a big deal????

I'm bringing out the world's smallest violin for this perpetual victim.

I agree with your second point but stand by my first.

In our case they successfully launched an appellate argument, got the lawyers assembled, the convicted felon transported from FLorence to Phoenix to hold an appeal arguing I sat in the courtroom between my rounds of testimony which they knew FULL WELL was legal due to the Victims bill of Rights. Ridiculous rounds of appeals go on ad nauseum in Death Row cases.

I don't think they have a leg to stand on but I do believe they will argue it down the road...appellate lawyers looking for anything I mean.
