What is really shocking that the talking heads on HLN were saying 'Why don't her lawyers feed her' too.

They're lawyers?

Apparently not Arizona lawyers! I am no lawyer but I have never heard of a law making it a second degree felony for anyone but the sheriff and his staff to feed an inmate. In the prison program in which I volunteered when the staff sent out for a meal they always got enough for the inmate worker in the office. And we brought in food for graduation night for the women (and their families who were guests) when they successfully completed the program. Of course everything had to be inspected before we brought it in, but there was never a problem.

I guarantee that she would have an equally effective response to a female prosecutor as well. Psychopaths always do. Unless the suggestion is to bring in a frail, kind, soft-spoken, pushover prosecutor who allows JA to dictate how questioning goes. The truth is she was not abused, she is not a victim, and in the end it will be more effective when a strong, professional man is the one who puts the nail in her coffin.

Without question, she was coached to communicate her discomfort in his manner of questioning. Like Nurmi doesn't know how JM questions? Ehem.

Yay I'm so thankful for level headed ladies and our own at that. Dr dress jurors are way better than the talking heads.

Don't be surprised to learn she lied. They hand her a sack everyday and she tosses it! Was hoping someone would pick her up a Cinnabon and a Starbucks!

That threw me off also. I didn't realize it was a felony for her attorneys to give their clients food either. Interesting.

This is not a guilty/not trial. Jodi has already pleaded guilty. The trial is to decide the DEGREE of guilt.

She plead not guilty (she's on trial). She admitted to killing him and plea self defense. If she plead guilty she would only have to go before the judge for her punishment, I believe. jmo

And here we are, still talking about her right to lunch, v Travis' right to justice and all the awesome stuff that happened today.

Lunch?

I strongly suspect that Travis was butchered and shot through the head without so much as a Cinnabon.

Migraine?

Try a .25 slug spinning and boring its way through your head, and lodging in your cheek after you've already incurred brutal, incisive stab wounds to your skull.

Any lip readers out there? At 1:24:26 JA says something to herself under her breath. I think I see the word "b#tch" or "come on b#tch"???

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlwSqCWkV7A

I noticed that too! I just don't know what she's mouthing! But it's right at the end of the afternoon testimony. Maybe the REAL reason for the recess? She's LOSING her composure on the stand! (Or calling herself names. Either way, works for ME!) :rocker:

I understand that they work on other cases in the early hours of the morning, but these could be moved to the end of the day vs. starting a Capital Murder trial late. A judge could be brought in to handle small cases to ease the load on the trial judge. This is done all the time here. Why would Friday not be a trial day anyway? I'm curious.
Since Jodi's defense is trying to get the trial end time shortened, it would be

FGS!!! Don't they realize that us east coasters need them to start earlier and end earlier! :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

It is sex, not gender, but that's ok.

Think about it, a female prosecutor could not allow Jodi to compare her to Travis! and "men like you". She would be stuck with a female prosecutor and her true colors would come out ! Juan is barely budging her.
She doesn't get to pick her prosecutor, and I'm just fine with Juan Martinez. He put another woman in Arizona on Death Row. He's gotten Jodi to admit she liked the sex, there was no abuse, no pedophilia, she had anal sex with 3 other boyfriends prior to Travis, no broken finger, no evidence of bruises, and a history of prior stalking. Her true colors are coming out in her smirky arrogance.

Neither would LWOP. NOTHING will bring him back, so in the end its partially up to the family to put their voice in for what they would like, and let the judge go from there. If they wish for DP, so be it. They may not get it, but their wishes should be respected.

And if they prefer water-boarding and then stoning?

Beheading on TV?

Burning the convict to death in the public square?

A murder case is not the settling of a private score by those who loved the victim. The best satisfaction they can hope for is the knowledge that the murderer won't be free to murder again.

I believe some of our VERIFIED lawyers posted that it was, in fact, a 2nd degree felony in AZ to give a defendant so much as a stick of gum. I know it was in either this or the last thread.

Well, I just finished watching the afternoon session, thank you croakerqueen whoever you are.

First, don't hate me, but I think a prisoner is entitled to three squares a day. Second, her migraine didn't look like a migraine to me. I worked with a woman who got frequent migraines. The interesting part of her story is that after her really annoying boss quit she stopped getting them so much. If Jodi does have a migraine it's because she knows her answers, no matter how hard she tries, won't make sense to people. IIRC, psychopaths take cues from people's faces and I'm sure the jury isn't making any positive cues for her. I'm gonna guess that her migraines disappear as soon as JM is done with his cross. She doesn't even mildly resemble the woman who got constant migraines. I've seen her and other people who have migraines and Jodi isn't having one. IMO JM's cross was so mild this afternoon the migraine excuse seems lame.

Did I hear it right that they will be quitting at 4:30 now? Is that an hour earlier than normal?

I find two things that ostensibly agitate her:

Any mention of other women. And any mention of the murder.

I'd really like to see her reaction to the possibility that she was also a CHIT/BULLCHIT photographer...I keep waiting for it. Most likely, JM knows that it isn't a trigger for her but I am oh-so-curious about this...

OMG, she will be in all her glory, turning toward them and droning on and on and on and on, like in the 48 Hours interviews, to share her virtues and victim-ness. She'll have their full attention and no interruptions, to talk about "me, me, me, me, me...". She will love it and it will be utterly sickening.

I hope they ask her nothing because they believe nothing she says.

:welcome2:

There are lots of links to prior threads, media info and live feeds, and a great memorial video about Travis on the first page of this thread. It's a good way to catch up with the case and do your homework.

It has always bothered me: if JA premeditated, why did she choose to have sex with TA and photograph them both just before she killed him since that could end up incriminating her? Today it occurred to me that she may have planned it to be a murder-suicide, a way to bond them together forever in death so of course she would want to have sex with him one last time and memorialize it so everyone would finally know the true nature of their relationship (something he always hid from the world). The problem occurred when it was so difficult to kill Travis, and the cut to her hand probably "stung" (like the supposed razor cut in prison) and she couldn't go through with the suicide. Then she realized she had to try to get rid of the pictures.... etc. Doesn't explain the gas cans though!

I think she's a psychopath. Psychopaths don't commit suicide. I think the photos were trophies, which inadvertently ended up in the wash. After she butchered Travis, she simply didn't have the presence of mind to pick up the camera. She accidentally threw it into the washing machine, tangled among the sheets.

Yes, they take a lunch break. She is claiming that she doesn't get anything. Apparently the Sherriff in Maricopa county feeds inmates twice per day. She has never complained about it until today. After her attorney whispered to her. Probably about what was coming up

Probably as she is using more calories keeping her brain engaged as to what lie to tell next.

JM has definitely gotten to her. Good.

:D
