This judge reminds me of Ito, Is she embarrassed or intimidated by the camera to bang the gavel? I mean, seriously, judge, please demand that the witness answer the question, enough of the semantics, geez, i'm cringing, please restore order in the court!

Without question, she was coached to communicate her discomfort in his manner of questioning. Like Nurmi doesn't know how JM questions? Ehem.

moo

Oh, absolutely she was coached on that. He's asking her easy questions. The options are: YES/NO. She's does not answer. She evades and slithers. He rephrases. Then she blames him for her inability to answer and calls him abusive/intimidating.

She would find a way to throw the outgoing Pope under the pope-mobile... she'd call him a quitter and demean him and hack into his brand new Twitter account and wage a PR campaign against him.

The TH's and anyone else who thinks there's some easy fix to deal with her is mistaken, IMO but I also think he's effectively exposing her.

They are very critical tonight. It's easy to be a monday morning quarterback.

We just have to trust that JM knows his Jury and is making sure he is on the same page with them. The talking heads have no way of knowing, they have not been in court with the Jury all day for weeks like JM has.

Most of these attorneys are trolling for new clients. What better way than to criticize another high profile attorney, and say you can do it better. I call BS on all of them.

I hope they ask her nothing because they believe nothing she says.

They may well ask her nothing for fear she will never stop talking when she responds.

Well, I just sent off another email to my buddy Dr. Drew.

This time I told him to DUMP that useless, airhead co-host Laura, and to hire Katie (TOK) (not sure of her new WS nic, sorry) his Dr. Drew Juror, instead.

Don't be surprised to learn she lied. They hand her a sack everyday and she tosses it! Was hoping someone would pick her up a Cinnabon and a Starbucks!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yep. But I would never want to be anyone giving her ANY food. With all her claims of wanting to commit suicide, surely she will try to say someone put something in her food, to help her get there!

I've never seen the 48 Hours episode Juan is playing in the courtroom. My God the Cinnabon story! It had layer upon layer of detail. And yesterday with the Iris story. She said she sent 20 to TA's Grandma and a note that was "short and sweet." BUT IT WAS 18 PAGES LONG!!! Who does that?! Evil has a face and its hers.

a lot are out takes from the 48 hrs interviewed that were never aired

Today I started to think the prosecutor is going way too far with arguing with her over every little lie. I think the jury knows she's a liar by now and it doesn't really matter what she says. She doesn't legally have to say anything. And she in no way said anything that supports self defense. But... The prosecutor needs to prove premeditation. Why don't he focus on how the gun got there...when/why she colored her hair....where did she park her car since the roommates didn't see it there....did she take the plates off her car. Come on now! Enough of the anal sex! Today felt like a waste of time and a rerun of yesterday!

Did I hear it right that they will be quitting at 4:30 now? Is that an hour earlier than normal?

Snipped respectfully by me,

I think it has always been 4:30 AZ time but if it went a little over, so be it. But that was the general time. But, as Nurmi so eloquently put it, 'as long as 4:30 is the drop dead time' (or something to that effect) meaning no later than that (I guess so JA can eat dinner?)

All just IMO, and I may have gotten it wrong, but that's my take on it ;)

I believe some of our VERIFIED lawyers posted that it was, in fact, a 2nd degree felony in AZ to give a defendant so much as a stick of gum. I know it was in either this or the last thread.

Oh I am not questioning that. I just think that this is an Arizona law and one not necessarily found in other states (it isn't in mine). So I am not surprised that a lawyer who didn't practice in Arizona would not know this.

And if they prefer water-boarding and then stoning?

Beheading on TV?

Burning the convict to death in the public square?

A murder case is not the settling of a private score by those who loved the victim. The best satisfaction they can hope for is the knowledge that the murderer won't be free to murder again.

Beautifully said, Nova.

We shouldn't be emulating the days of public executions for entertainment or personal vengeance. It should be about objectively measuring out punishment for the crimes that have been committed.

This isn't crap like UFC. This type of sentence should require gravity and objectivity.

I feel entitled to make the following comment because I have a family member who suffers from the same affliction. IMO - She has strabismus. (Also known as a lazy eye.) One eye goes in while the other focuses out and sometimes it interchanges from the left going in and the right going in. Her right eye went in a LOT today. It's often a sign of stress, tiredness or illness. It went in more than usual today. As you watch her testifying, have a look at her right eye. It's almost always at the extreme left corner while her other eye is looking straight forward. Either they changed her glasses (which would normally force BOTH of her eyes to look forward and YES, they could do that) or something most probably stressed her out big time today.

Did Casey Scamthony have lunch with her defense team during her trial? (I think Nurmi could have given her a candy bar if he choose to do this.)

  • #614
I noticed that too! I just don't know what she's mouthing! But it's right at the end of the afternoon testimony. Maybe the REAL reason for the recess? She's LOSING her composure on the stand! (Or calling herself names. Either way, works for ME!) :rocker:

i've seen too where she lowers her eyes and mouths something. i think she is saying a demonic prayer or calling on a demon spirit. she's creepy jmho

Well, I just finished watching the afternoon session, thank you croakerqueen whoever you are.

First, don't hate me, but I think a prisoner is entitled to three squares a day. Second, her migraine didn't look like a migraine to me. I worked with a woman who got frequent migraines. The interesting part of her story is that after her really annoying boss quit she stopped getting them so much. If Jodi does have a migraine it's because she knows her answers, no matter how hard she tries, won't make sense to people. IIRC, psychopaths take cues from people's faces and I'm sure the jury isn't making any positive cues for her. I'm gonna guess that her migraines disappear as soon as JM is done with his cross. She doesn't even mildly resemble the woman who got constant migraines. I've seen her and other people who have migraines and Jodi isn't having one. IMO JM's cross was so mild this afternoon the migraine excuse seems lame.

Did I hear it right that they will be quitting at 4:30 now? Is that an hour earlier than normal?

No, that is the exact same time they quit now.

Do you really email Dr.D? I saw you mention that recently but I never know who's all talk and who walks the walk. I take it you walk :)

I agree about the cohost. She seems lovely, truly, but she smiles and looks so very lost as she gazes into the camera. I want to reach through, grab her and tell her, "you're okay!! You're in the studio! You're safe!"

His whole show has gone downhill. He needs to put up a :help: Wanted ad and bring in some real talent.

While it may seem like that to you, I don't think she can do much unless the prosecution objects to her being non-responsive. Every time they do, she (the judge) tells her to answer the question.

It is sex, not gender, but that's ok.

Think about it, a female prosecutor could not allow Jodi to compare her to Travis! and "men like you". She would be stuck with a female prosecutor and her true colors would come out ! Juan is barely budging her.

I understand why you think a female prosecutor would be better...yet am not sure one would be more effective. The jury is able to see how JA acts with a male that doesnt agree with everything she says. She is not the timid mild mannered young woman she wants folks to think she is.

Perhaps a woman could get her temper up quicker but we dont know that for certain.

I really appreciate Juans courtroom technique. I believe the end result will be justice and to me that is what counts.
