Holy cow. Ok that is stupid...if true. I don't mind some of Sheriff Joe's tactics but getting up at 3 or 4 am and having breakfast then and waiting until 6pm for dinner? No...I don't agree with that. That would mess me up all kinds.

OMG. Just catching up. :banghead: IMO Sheriff Joe has taken this one step too far. If he wants to be "tough" he should make sure the defendants have no possible excuse!

Oh, really terrific point! I've mentioned it once before.

She asserts that the photos in the shower were a formalised photoshoot. I assert that those photos were snaps. They are lousy. If you were going to do a proper job, you would factor in the light, among other things. To me, they are not remotely an attempt at good photography. I would throw that in her face. Ha!
In one of her "media" interviews, she goes so far as to say that she liked doing the shower pics because she liked the drops of water or something to that effect...Pffftttt...They were REALLY CHITTY shots. Bad light. Bad everything. Not a "photographer" for sure.

CHITTY PHOTOGRAPHS JODI....

MOO

Quoting myself as I had to go back and find information about Antartica as it's been bugging me as to the reference. I found below post by zoozoo that I'm pasting here......

"Did anyone else notice her TWO Antarctica references? The first occurred Trial Day 16 at about 3 hrs 15 mins (YouTube posted by eonblue); JA is testifying about a fight that supposedly occurred in 10/07 (oddly, she never describes what started the fight, I assume she was acting towards TA the way she was acting towards JM on Thursday!) and says TA suggested she "move to Antarctica and never call me again." She then describes getting "suicidal."
The second Antarctica reference comes in her testimony re: attending TA's memorial; she gets emotional and says that Travis had supposedly promised he would come to her funeral and give a eulogy "even if it was in Antarctica."
My bet is that after his comment in 10/07 about her moving to Antarctica and not calling him any more, she did the dramatic, desperate thing for the ump-teenth time and threatened suicide if he wouldn't see her anymore, saying something like "How will you feel having to come all the way to Antarctica to my funeral?"
Consistent with her sociopathic mindset, she has twisted this around to mean he cared so much that even if she died in Antarctica he would be at her funeral. Very sick. "

I don't know if anyone can really explain what's going through that deranged, dysfunctional, criminal brain of hers but some of the most shocking and appalling testimony is when she goes to the memorial, explains why she went, sending flowers to his grandmother, and some of the other behavior in the weeks right after the murder. We know what the DV expert will say and I'm not interested.

There is an unfathomable level of intentional, calculated cruelty in those actions she took. It's like murderers who revisit the scene where they've buried the body or committed the crime. Actually on one of the HLN shows, a friend of Travis said after the memorial, JA asked if they could drive by Travis' house for nostalgic reasons. I can only imagine that she is exhillarated and relives those horrible moments. She continued to act out, sending flowers and a note to his grandmother. Mark my words-- these are things the jury will not forget. They will not be explained away by any defense expert.

How twisted that she can speak those words... we had an agreement we would attend each other's funerals and I wanted to keep my word.

Unreal.

It has always bothered me: if JA premeditated, why did she choose to have sex with TA and photograph them both just before she killed him since that could end up incriminating her?
My guess is that she had to wait until the last of the roommates left.

Special thanks to Nurse for adding the ribbon link to page one.

According to Gronski, legally no one other than the Sheriff or his deputies can provide food for an inmate during the trial.

“If I hand them something to eat, it’s a class 2 felony,” he said

http://www.azfamily.com/news/Attorn...erfering-with-judicial-process-192389651.html

A jail worker called in to drivetime radio tonight and said that the inmates are served a breakfast of bread, a plastic bag of peanut butter, 2 oranges, an apple and a small bottle of juice. Inmates on trial are served at 5 am and those who aren't are served b/w 6 and 7. He said they are served dinner at around 7 pm and that it's a soy "stew" with whatever is left over from the day before. He said that is the same every day. He also said that the food is absolutely disgusting. fwiw

It is sex, not gender, but that's ok.

Think about it, a female prosecutor could not allow Jodi to compare her to Travis! and "men like you". She would be stuck with a female prosecutor and her true colors would come out ! Juan is barely budging her.

How very Jodi-esque of a statement :floorlaugh:

Would it be a felony for Nurmi to give Jodi a food item? If this is so, please explain why. tia

This is not a guilty/not trial. Jodi has already pleaded guilty. The trial is to decide the DEGREE of guilt.

You are flat out wrong. JA has pled not guilty: she killed TA, but did so in self-defense, which is NOT a crime.

ITA about Nurmi. I think you're pushing it with the Baez comment... Let's not get ridiculous here ;)

You mentioned Belvin so I'm going to take this opportunity to share this video because there's really never a bad time to share this video (Sorry if it offends anyone, if so... move along :seeya:)

(Snipped the video portion)

That version edits out the BEST part, though! The gist of it makes it clear that there can be consequences for that kind of behavior, but the lecture was PRICELESS!

It was something along the lines of asking how many grades he completed and if he can actually READ or was simply illiterate. He asked about the guy's ability to pay the fine, and just generally humiliated him. I'm sure his buddies (I think they dared him to do it, although he may have volunteered) thought it was hilarious, though and he, no doubt, still gets ribbed about it to this day.

You actually believe this and the timing of it?????

This question was directed to minor4th, who probably already responded, but I just wanted to clarify after my comment that I completely think this was a ploy by Nurmi to stop the bleeding, so to speak.

BUT but but but I also think the Sheriff's Office is being stupid and creating issues where there should be none.

It was obvious she was in her comfort zone when talking about the graphic sex.

As opposed to Lisa.......remember when Juan just said "when he got tu)(*&^ (whateverthat word was :floorlaugh:) or big?"

Instead of using the word hard-on!:what:

Estrella Jail does not provide "lunch" for the inmates, they get two meals a day.
Brunch sack or what the inmates like to call a ladmo bag.
She is supposed to be bringing her brunch sack with her to court if she wants to eat.

Here is a video of Nancy Grace in the kitchen area of Estrella Jail. (16:09)
http://youtu.be/E9_Qdm7-Oqg?t=16m9s

Hopefully this is the real policy. If she has chosen not to bring her food to court, that's one thing. If, as Sheriff Joe implied in his interview 5 days ago, defendants in trial are fed before dawn and not again until 6 pm, that's not OK.

  • #659
Someone can throw her a Cinnabon. Heck why is it so hard to toss her a bag of chips or something and get on with the trial. I wonder if they asked about this, are they not allowed to throw her food? Do they eat in front of her?

I didn't claim missing lunch is torture, and, yeah, I think the "migraine" was strategy. But the original post to which I referred claimed it was offensive to even raise the issue of how inmates are treated during their trials.

This judge reminds me of Ito, Is she embarrassed or intimidated by the camera to bang the gavel? I mean, seriously, judge, please demand that the witness answer the question, enough of the semantics, geez, i'm cringing, please restore order in the court!

oh man Ito.....was SO BAD. He (and the whole trial) made such a mockery of the court system.
