Atthelake,

I'm looking at this picture. I see it as a shoe on the threshold between the bathroom and the hall, stepping over the flashing separating the two rooms. The bathroom door is to the right.

bathroom is tiled, hall towards bedroom is carpeted? Link again?

Karmandy - good point as to pointing out that "overkill" may negate the self defense. I think our Juanderful man will easily prove what you have pointed out@!

  • #1,203
Proving "overkill" -- i.e., possibly negating self defense, does not equate to proving premeditated murder beyond a reasonable doubt. And that's what the State has to prove, regardless of whether self-defense is proven. 1st degree murder is the only charge on the table. Maybe one of the verified lawyers can inform us regarding whether lesser included offenses are still on the table as well under Arizona law, even though they're not charged?

If the jury doesn't see it as self-defense, what's left? She admits she murdered TA and will have to pay the consequences. I don't care if she gets LWOP, though I think she deserves the DP.

Welcome Mal! I see you are new here and glad to have ya! I don't click on stuff that isnt' labelled.......What is that a photo of?
I just posted that link twice by mistake. It is the same as this-

"MalPal ** http://s1291.beta.photobucket.com/user/PhotoStorages/media/tpic_zpse0865c0a.png.html
Do you think this is water that i circled in this pic? Also do you know if it would be possible to take a pic at this angle showing his shower??"

In the picture of Jodi dragging/attacking Travis, I drew a circle around what looks like a puddle of bloody water to me, and drew a line to what looks like blood on the shower lip pointed out by txblondie

"Txblondie: Also, in the second pic down by his toes, I don't know if that's just color distortion in the pic or could it possibly be blood down the front lip of the shower meaning at some point she had to have drug him out of said shower stall already bleeding???"

I tried to multi quote, but failed :(

Thank you for the welcome!!! You are all so sharp..such intelligent discussion!

Here is what I found on the ' legal thread' :

I think they charged felony murder for those jurors who might not find premeditation. And I think it's a good strategy to get a first degree murder conviction.

Interesting. So it's a back up so they won't have to resort to a lesser included if they fail to find premeditation? I get it.

Can Judge Sherry Stephens intercede and direct Jodi Arias to answer The State's (Juan Martinez) questions?

I'm not certain how to give an example - however, let's say Arias says, "the sky is the color of water in a sea." Martinez responds, "with regards to the sky, you indicated that it is blue." Arias will respond, "no, I didn't say that." Martinez responds, "don't you remember saying that the sky is the color of water in a sea?" Arias, "um, yes, but I didn't say blue. I would never say blue because that would not be accurate." Martinez, "well, the sky is blue correct?" Arias, "No." Martinez, "you yourself, did you not say that the sky is the color of water in a sea, and, that color would be blue." Arias, "You are scarring me. Your tone is hostile. This makes me scarred just like when Travis would abuse me." Martinez, "did you or or did you not indicate that the sky is blue?" Arias, "I don't understand your question. Sea color depends on a variety of things. But, yes, I guess a person could say that the sea is blue." Martinez, "What color was the sky?" Arias, "Blue. But I believe that the water in the sea can be a variety of colors. I don't know what you mean by sea color."

Goodness!

Arias did write how wonderful Travis was in his memorial book - she wrote this knowing that she murdered him. Let's say that Travis was going to kill her, and, she had to defend herself. Why would she write anything in his memorial book? Let's say that Arias did murder in self defense - why would she shoot him, stab him over two dozen times, and slit his throat?

If Arias believed that Travis was a great guy - even though he was attracted to young boys, and, abusive - and according to Arias she knew that Travis did not like those aspects have himself - and she believed that he had the potential to overcome all of those demons. So - if Arias believed Travis could get better - why didn't she 'fight' to get away - as opposed to murdering Travis over and over again. Travis was in the shower - we know this - we saw the pictures. Arias, according to her, was able to make it to his closet and get his gun without Travis blocking her in anyway - she has the gun that she got without a fight - why not point it at him and run away? Arias, according to her own words, believed in Travis and knew that he was a great person - so why not run? Also, does it make sense that she was able to get the gun without a fight from Travis? If Travis is coming after her - saw her trying to get his gun - wouldn't Travis tackle her to the ground before she was able to get his gun?

To me it seems as though Travis was so kind hearted that he could not bring himself to hurt Arias as she was murdering him.

Arias lied about murdering Travis because she did not want to get caught. After she murdered him, she went about behaving grief stricken - proclaiming how wonderful Travis was.

I do not see how The State of Arizona - acting on the behalf of US citizens - protecting citizens from dangerous people such as herself - can achieve their duties with Arias answering questions in a riddle like manner.

Arias was able to answer questions fine with her attorney - she has been able to answer questions fine when being interviewed for television programs. It seems as though the only time Arias cannot answer questions is when Arias isn't allowed to speak her lies.

Plus, I do no think that it is right that Arias can behave, and, proclaim that Martinez is making her uncomfortable (implying that Martinez is abusive towards her, causing her to be frightened - similar to the way Travis did). Can the Judge address this - and tell Arias that she cannot imply that the State Prosecutor is being abusive towards her?

Finally, can the judge instruct Arias' defense attorney to make sure that the person he is defending has food. Even if he has to keep some breakfast snack bars in his briefcase?

I do not live in Arizona - however, if I did, I would be upset seeing how this judge runs her courtroom.

Sorry this is such a long rant - it just seems that the fact that Arias confessed to stabbing Travis over two dozen times, slit his throat, and shot him - then behaved as though she was grieving, and, helping the police catch his murderer is getting lost.

If she is able to buy snacks....I believe she has no excuse. I'm sure she has money in her canteen from her parents and possibly people who support her. I just don't trust JA whatsoever.

Thanks for the information.:rocker:

When the pictures first went on sale a portion of the money was supposed to do just that~~provide her with funds for snacks or whatever

I saw the end of todays round. Didnt someone say something about her wanting to plea guilty of second degree murder? Maybe they were just speculating. She is ready to pop if she goes much farther without blowing a gasket I'll be surprised. I sometimes wonder about her lawyer, think he's had it with her. I wouldnt blame him!:what: :seeya:

It's not speculation. JA wanted a deal to plead guilty to second degree murder. I read the document, though I cannot remember where.

She claimed to have no choice but to drag TA's name through the mud if this went to trial, and made it sound like she would be doing everyone a favor by pleading guilty to a lesser charge, i.e., would save TA's reputation plus save the state lots of money if they could skip a trial. But she would not plead to first degree murder, even though a guilty plea would have saved her from the DP.

As for JA's lawyer, I really do not think he is that bad. He's shown some odd behaviors and he is not anyone I would want to know in person, but as a lawyer he isn't terrible, IMO. He is trying to save her life, which is what he is supposed to do. His tactics seem unthinkable but really, what does he have to work with? He knows she lies, which is why she was up there giving her narrative on direct. That's how it has to be done under such circumstances. At least the man can write a Motion or Appeal that doesn't sound like a fifth-grader wrote it (thinking of Cheney Mason/Jose Baez here).

Seriously...look what this man has to work with.

As for the judge, she needs to take better notice of some things going on in the courtroom, IMO.

Morning everyone :seeya:

I wonder what today will bring for our little diva

I love juan picking her lies apart but I want him to shove the autopsy photos in her face, , especially the defensive wounds on his hands and the neck wound. I want her to explode

She would like to attack anyone that confronts her. The scrambling brain is high anxiety which causes her to lose her concentration. She has no control over this or what she will do to people that cause her to experience it....as she is very uncomfortable and wants her mind to stop. She is crazy...and works hard at hiding it.

I suspect her parents knew about her rage when confronted and she was a disruption to the household and they were glad when she moved out. Think Vandersloot!

Don't forget: This is a woman who fired her DT and wanted to represent herself. On that stand, she is acting not just like a witness, but as her own attorney. Jodi Arias wants to prove to the world just how smart she is. She uses legal terms like "compound question" and banters back and forth about word meanings and definitions because she wants to PROVE she's smarter than Juan Martinez. Her arrogance demands it. He is the only male who has ever challenged her and not been taken in by her antics.

Jodi is a high school dropout. (No knock against that. My dad dropped out in 11th grade, joined the Navy and is STILL the smartest man I know.) Jodi wants to be seen as educated, sophisticated and intelligent. She helped Travis with editing/typing his book. She wanted CREDIT, not just because of the other woman who received accolades from him. She NEEDED that validation that she was his intellectual equal.

Today, when Juan Martinez began having the court reporter read back the questions, her demeanor changed. Her shoulders slumped. Her jaw set. He wasn't playing ball anymore. And having her read to like a child wasn't serving it's purpose. She QUICKLY began to understand the questions better.

It's not fun when you have to start playing catch all by yourself. He did what he needed to do to show her as an aggressive, combative woman who would stand her ground against him - a man she COMPARED to Travis Alexander. Juan Martinez knows EXACTLY what he is doing. :twocents:

Brilliant post.

I feel sorry for the jail and the prison staff that have to house her. She will be a problem and will cause many staff to be fired. That is what they do. They plan their days filing lawsuits, reading at the law library and finding information on Correctional Officers so they can ruin their lives. We already got a taste of what she was doing with Mormon Law. She applied it to everyone but herself.

Borderlines use your own words against you. I can't stand them and will never work around any borderline as long as I live. I watched Drs, Psychiatrists, Psycologist, correctional officers all lose jobs over these POSs. The prison system hates them. They cause nothing but trouble. I think you can see this with the few minutes of observing this murderer work it on the stand.

There is a place nearby that houses Borderlines with psychopathy. Wanna lose your mind? go to work there. Just imagine 14 jodies/caseys all day and having to interact with them.

My statement has nothing to do with whether he get a conviction. It is about the flow of the trial. *yawn* the sex talk etc... is BORING.

I'm just going through the posts today so my response is a little late.

You CHOOSE to watch this trial. If it's boring then you can just stop watching. The sex talk is an important part of this case whether you like it or not.

I love Juan, and as you can all see, I am a verified Juanette.

But TODAY is the day. I think he needs to get to the nitty gritty today. He has done a fantastic job laying the foundation showing that she is a prolific liar, a jealous peeping Tom, A snoop, and an arrogant controlling sociopath. NOW we need to hear her explain what went down on June 4th. JMO

  • #1,218
JA, on 48 hours, said that the sex was always mutual. She didn't agree with JM because she had no nourishment and her brain was scrambled. She agreed again because she had already done so on 48 hours for the whole world to see.

As a fellow Juanette I agree. We need him to get to June 4th today and be totally assertive.

Sorry......but commenting on my own. If this is indeed a shoe......just doesn't appear right to me. The background has been discussed earlier and tonight.......and not a horizontal metal divider from carpet to carpet, but is the floor board which is usually at least 2 1/2" in height....and in forensic photos just shown above.......does have those 4 ridges in them. Therefore.. if it was a foot, and is in relation, the floor board looks too tiny imho for a shoe. If the foot was just in front of floorboard......the floor board in that space would be much bigger in relation. Therefore........a body ?

Is there a dedicated thread nurse for these discussions as perhaps should go there!

Also Nurse, did you get my messages re setting up a DEDICATED thread for the family so they didn't have to read upsetting stuff we may be posting. We had one on a previous case......that was monitored closely to ensure all positive stuff. TIA

I thought it was a shoe at first, but when I turned the picture upside down, I could see what appears to be Travis's thigh/ knee area with blood running down it. If it's not his thigh, it's definitely some other part of his body.
