Remember this is jail and not prison.

:what:ooops....there's a difference?
I'm begining to realize how little I know about any of this stuff...:blushing:

I'm headed back down to the afternoon session in court today peeps. I'll post once I get there and give a heads up about my whereabouts. Also bringing my ipad as a backup. ;) I think today will be a big day.

We are with you in spirit!

If you could just do me one small favor. Eat a Cinnabon in front of her.

Based on that quote where she said she didn't mean to cause them pain (or however she said it)

The falsehood she told was that intruders killed him, and she even called his family and said how sorry she was he died etc.

I don't think she is admitting she lied and killed him herself.

Thanks. I didn't think she was admitting to murder. Just wondered if there were other lies than "I wasn't there" and "the ninjas did it".

BTW, I just realized the PDF I linked is not the original plea offer from 2010, but the defense, in 2011, saying we'll go to trial unless there is an offer for less than life.

Respectfully snipped ...

If TA liked little boys, don't you think this issue would have surfaced with one of his other girlfriends along the way ? I wonder if Arias knows what's coming in rebuttal ...
IMO, that's more evidence that Jodi knows the difference between reality and fantasy. She accused him of being a peadophile because the reality is she's not done with her victim. She's got all of her marbles; she knows exactly what she's doing.

I am shocked by how much "support" she has gained from her fellow inmates. I had hoped she'd end up at the bottom of the food chain, but she really seems to be able to handle the other ladies.... how is that possible?

They can't be all that bright. They're all locked up. :great:

http://pathwhisperer.wordpress.com/...earch-today-how-to-cross-examine-a-sociopath/

4. From both David Hampton and that SVP I concluded that the self control of a sociopath is only relative, that it is difficult for them and can slip at any time under the right pressure. That’s what the cross examiner should aim for. (I also concluded from that SVP that sociopaths recognize and protect each other. If at all possible screen the jury to prevent the seating of fellow sociopaths.)

Ask medical or dental personnel how often they run into patients who attack them upon their giving injections. This is one point where the curtain is ripped away and the sociopath (some sociopaths) will react like an animal under attack — all self control is thrown aside by the dictates of self defense.

5. Show as much disrespect as you can get away with. In sociopathic gangs no one lights another’s cigarette just to be friendly. It is all defined by the food chain pecking order. Similarly being polite is taken as respect for their place on the food chain vis-a-vis yourself. We were all taught to do unto others as we would have done unto us — this is totally misunderstood by sociopaths. Speaking for myself, I was raised a Quaker and I find it almost impossible not be stay polite. However, looking back, there were definitely times when that was a mistake.

6. Sociopaths are very elemental. Such simplistic tactics as having someone stare at them can be very unsettling for them. Or put together a legal team of big, imposing individuals. They seem to think that the civilized world is only onion skin thin and at any time the world could revert to the law of the jungle. You want them to stay off kilter.

7. Depending on the circumstances, the cross examiner may want to let the sociopath ramble in order to disclose their arrogance and disordered thinking.

Absolutely correct. Anything said which would challenge her exaggerated self image causes anger and frustrations.

It makes a weird kind of sense--because in jail you are basically a discarded person. No one is on your side, very few care if you live or die. Jodi is a "hero" to them on many levels. She has a cool, relaxed demeanor and excellent public speaking skills--she makes ladies in jail look good. She can hold her own in conversation, does not have a criminal past, and has brought a lot of energy and attention to their jail. She is their "star" player, and an underdog. A win for her would be a win for them.

Don't forget she won them all a Thanksgiving dinner thanks to her phenomenal vocal stylings ::puke::

She may even lead them to being fed lunch every day. That would be huge!
They probably like her "pushing back" with the prosecutor too.

Agreed. I think that she went to the service to: A. Use it as part of her alibi because she thought no one would expect the murderer to show up at the service. B. She wanted to know how much information everyone else had about what was found, suspects, etc. C. In her sick mind, she was still trying to exert control.

Ding ding and DING!

I also think it was her version of continuing to stalk him. She approached at least two women to discuss their relationship with Travis while she was there (Mimi and Elisha).

Lice would be more creative. That could keep her out a few days.

Explosive diarrhea would be pretty good, too-- and believable! ;)

To my mind, the only way Jodi's journals would be beneficial to the defense is if one believes an iota of her testimony. If you believe her, it would seem more likely to also believe whatever misconstruing of evidence the defense team alludes to.

If you don't though, they're damning.

And I am only guessing! Thinking of the first few things she said about the crime and calling the Grandmother (OMG) so that might be something she thinks caused them pain, sending flowers as if she was also mourning along with them. yuck!

Here is what I found on the ' legal thread' :

I think they charged felony murder for those jurors who might not find premeditation. And I think it's a good strategy to get a first degree murder conviction.

Interesting. So it's a back up so they won't have to resort to a lesser included if they fail to find premeditation? I get it.

Thanks, Katie. I don't really "get" the felony murder charge -- I mean I'm not sure what crime she was supposed to have intended to commit in the dwelling other than premeditated murder -- so I find myself kind of mentally writing it off. Do you know what the underlying felony is supposed to be?

It's a group of people that all believe they are in jail and unjustly so. A great amount of people who are incarcerated believe and or state they are there because of something someone else has done. It is rarely their fault, their responsibility. The more people are able to get away with such defenses the better it is for them for their time at court.

If she was the best singer, can you imagine what the others sounded like? Cats in heat screeching?

Its my birthday today! and I'm making a special birthday wish that JM has an outstanding day and can put this beech away today. I'm hoping that he brings up the day she killed TA and makes it clear in no uncertain terms that JA killed him 3x that day. Premeditation on the first attempt, second attempt and third attempt. NO if, ands or buts. Nothing left up to doubt. I hope I get my wish!
