I've never understood this supposed phenomena. The party's case is typically, and in your post, presented to the court by his or her attorney. So even if the party is disordered, the attorney and the court also would have to either accept the disordered position and/or be disordered themselves. Otherwise the "disordered" argument wouldn't find its way to court or, if it did, wouldn't meet with a favorable outcome because the attorneys and/or the court would play "by the rules."

The disordered party prolongs the litigation - they often do things like claim false abuse allegations or hiding funds. Since they have no ability/interest in planning for the future, the disordered party will have no problem draining all $$$ and going into debt to fight in court; they also have no problem manipulating and flat out sabotaging the children to harm their partner. They use litigation to punish their partner.

Hi everyone, I've lurked this site for years, and finally joined due to this trial.

Anyway, here is a scenario about what happened at the shower that makes a lot of sense to me. Its the one that I can most easily visualize, and I think it matches the evidence.

Travis is in the shower and he thinks Jodi has left. While he is in the shower, he discovers she is there, taking photos of him. I think he is startled, by the picture where his head is turned toward the camera and he looks somewhat shocked. I think he was irritated with her. She may have opened the door and got him to sit down when she took that last pic of his face.

I think he then stepped out of the shower, grabbed a towel, probably made some comments about her needing to leave, why are you still here, etc., and as his arms are up, and his eyes momentarily covered with the towel, she stabs him in the chest.

I believe the wounds on his chest were from a slightly lower angle, so this would fit. Also, he would be standing there with his chest exposed to Jodi. I think once the attack started, I am not sure how many other moments he would be in a position to get those direct stabs to his chest from a slightly lower angle (as opposed to coming from above).

It seems like this would fit into the time frame as well. She must have dropped the camera right around the time of this first stab at him. Then it just progressed from there.

Any takers on this one??

My theory on the photos is that many more were taken and deleted than were recovered.

Starting with the shower, his camera was probably on a timer and taking pictures at regular intervals.

After the murder, she deleted all of the pictures, left the card in the camera and dropped the camera in the washing machine.

Law enforcement found the card and recovered many -- but not all -- of the pictures which were taken with the camera on June 4, which is why the time-stamps do not all line up neatly on identical intervals.

Rarely will 100% of all deleted digital files be recovered, particularly if subsequent files were modified/written to the storage medium.

I have had instances where the recovery success rate approached 100%, but I've also seen success rate levels below 70%.

I will add that, to my knowledge, I have never attempted to recover files from digital media after deletion AND hot wash/spin/rinse cycle(s).

Was she planning on San Diego after Pasadena or on the trip home from Utah

After Pasadena/LA then to Utah. San Diego is about a 2.5 hour drive from LA (depending on traffic).

Why do all these psychos want to come to San Diego. Keep em outta my town! (Betty Broderick, David Westerfield, Scott Peterson). There was even a rumor that felon Anthony was in Carlsbad at one point. :what:

But if they're so obviously disordered, how does that happen? Are their lawyers and the judge disordered to? Why doesn't anyone else see it or act on it? The OP was saying, as I understand it, that the disordered person makes life hell on the other person in court. But if they're so obviously disordered, how do they do that without the complicity of the lawyers and the court? That was my point. I have no doubt that some STBEx spouses will do "whatever" whether they're legit disordered or even sometimes not.

Darryl Brewer's sister, Laura, lived there.. j.a. claims she wanted to go take photos of Laura's new baby, but couldn't get a hold of her.

In testimony Laura was in the LA area (unless I heard wrong).

Wonder if the smoke smell came from if she burned the bloody clothes out in the desert, but stupidly had her car too close to the fire and had her windows down.

Apparently the smoke smell was in the car from before she rented it.

Disordered individuals often choose lawyers who are very similar in their personality styles.

I'm watching right now. "I'm nearsighted" and JM's reaction is classic.

Count me in. Especially the part where Travis thinks Jodi left. She said she put her things in the car and then went back into the house to take pictures. I think in her web of lies there is some truth mixed in. The expression on his face in the last picture really bothers me. His family knew him best. I wonder if they think his facial expression is one of fear, surprise, anger, or what?

Speaking of David Westerfield, i just came across a website where all of the court documents from his death penalty trial are on-line. I read the majority of them.

I found the prosecution's closing arguments incredibly interesting and it showed me what Juan's might look like. The trial was 2 months long and David Westerfield claimed to have been on a camping trip the weekend he took her, so they had to prove where he actually drove during that weekend.

You can read the prosecutor's closing arguments here: http://www.unposted.com/trial/Day_28-Trial_August_6th_2002/

The prosecutors closing arguments were extremely long- he left no single detail out. It made me more hopeful about that part of this case. I hope Juan can pull all the crazy info together into a great closing arugments.

Nope, most of what happens between the parties in litigation happens outside of court and is never known to the judge.

There are many ways to manipulate the system and use the legal process to create a continuing hell for the person they are opposing.

Many times in high conflict family law cases, the judge assumes it's both parties dragging things out and believes that both parties are equally invested in conflict and chaos, although that is often not the case.

Thanks. Just saw the rental receipt. Cant tell if she turned in the car yet or if that was receipt before she turned it in. If it was truly before she turned it in, then yes it definitely is noted that car had smoke smell.
