The mother and sister have appeared to me to be kind of giddy to be front row spectators day after day in the trial of the moment. It's like they are somehow disconnected from the fact that the defendant is their daughter/niece and is on trial for her life. It is rather odd the way they behave. Like trial groupies or something.

But I'm sure their odd behaviour doesn't get past the jury. There will be no sympathy from them towards this mother regarding the sentence they pass on her daughter IMO. If she was sitting there day in and day out sobbing and upset at everything that was going on, if the jury could see the impact the death sentence would have on her, they might consider that when considering the sentence imposed on her daughter.

I don't think either of them are doing JA any favours.

Stabbing someone 20+ times, slitting their throat, then shooting them is NOT self defense. It's just not. How in the world can anyone come to the conclusion that such overkill is self defense?? Come on!

For those people unsure what the media was trying to get released it was the hearing on the 10 letters which TA supposedly wrote about being a pedophile. More of Jodi frame up of Travis.

You can read the court final ruling at the link posted below. It proves that Jodi Arias wrote the letters in question herself. JODI WROTE THE LETTERS and that is what the press is after. Court documents does not show the letters themselves but it does show what was ultimately decided about who wrote them.

As many times as Nurmi and Jodi have brought up the letters, I think that it is only right that the Court ruling on them is made public even without showing the letters themselves. In the interest of Justice that ruling should be admitted into the court record for the jury to see and take into consideration in determining if what JA says about TA being a pedophile has ANY truth behind it

My guess is that JM's saving the 29 stabs for closing. Going over it twice would lose its impact. And I bet he's going to present - and probably demonstrate the stabbings, one at a time, late in his closing, so that's the last image he gives them before they're dismissed to deliberate.

I agree. That way he can do it without her testicrying in front of the jury and Nurmi's constant objections. He needs to convey how frenzied and fast the murder happened by lining up the stab wounds, throat slit, and gunshot into the timeline as evidenced in the photos from the last one of Travis alive to the last photo in the sequence. Tap your leg 29 times, then add the rest and try to do it all in under 2 minutes. He needs to get the jury to imagine how agonizing those brief and final moments were for Travis. JMO

I do adore Juan don't get me wrong... but from a juror's perspective I am not convinced she didn't kill in self defense. :twocents:

Why? No one (witness(s)) were there to collaborate anything she is saying.

Remember CaseyA? Yes we all do. She got off because there were so many lies!

So like you don't see the premeditation? She just showed up, 1000 miles out of her way on a whim with a gun?

If I were a juror, I would completely toss out her testimony. She's unreliable. .....all that leaves is the states case!

The bottom line for me is there is absolutely no corroborating evidence that shows Travis was abusive to her in any way physically.

So, after hearing all her proven lies i have to assume she is lying about Travis attacking her.

And if that is not enough, then I think about
-the gas cans
-the proven obsession about the vacation trip
-the proven jealousy with other women
-the coverup
-the stolen gun from grams 1 or 2 weeks prior which matched .25 caliber bullets
-all the other lies

i'm bummed that we didn't find out why travis called her a sociopath.

I think we might have a fairly clear picture... My guess it was something like the tire slashing or the Dear John letter... or an accumulation of her stalkerish actions. That'd do it for me...

Half kidding - I'd pore over emails etc. if they released them to see just how far she took it - she pushes and pushes... she's relentless. Then she's passive aggressive... ugh. So creepy.

He sure was furious with her... yet she pretended like his real feelings didn't exist - until he agreed or apologized. I think when she realized Travis no longer cared, he was going to feel her wrath. She has to have the last word. Just watch her on cross! No one can tolerate that for very long, if at all.

You don't need any witnesses. If you were really listening to his testimony today he proved it was NOT in self defense even with her "version" of how the murder happened.

Also keep in mind the trial isn't over, he has a rebuttal case.

I heard an attorney on HLN saying that in Arizona, the redirect rules are very narrow. Juan can only venture into territory opened up by Nurmi in redirect.

So I think Nurmi is going to be pretty quick, and try to protect his client from the rebuttal.

I'm pretty much over anyone slamming Martinez's cross because today was a masterpiece. So much so that even my sister, who I am sorry to say was a HUGE supporter of Jodi - she believed the abuse self defense claim 100% - completely flipped the other way based on today's cross.

I'm surprised to say agree Turn, I was not at all a JM fan in the first week of cross but after this week, I'm really very impressed.
