All of my darkness is a result of my own creation.....maybe she didnt pay her light bill?

:floorlaugh: Yep, broke from taking trips, and that's why she had to use her journal pages as toilet paper.

How do you know its a lie?

Because there is not one single, solitary piece of evidence to suggest that it is anything more than a self-serving lie by the admitted murder?

I was a battered wife who left 29 years and still stalked by exhusband! There is no sign of abuse from Travis!

thank you Bam for sharing! So sorry for what you have been through!

I've been here for 5 years....I've learned when its wise to keep my mouth shut! LOL But thanks for the opportunity. Most often, I am in the majority but not today.

No one in my family could stand the site of Jodi Arias when the trial started.....and there are many aspects of both the accused and the victim which are disgusting. But none of us see this as being a clear-cut pre-meditated charge.

It seems everyone here views it as obvious and wastes no time slamming the defense and the accused, while praising the victim. I respect the victim, make no mistake on that...simply because he was murdered and it was horrible. I feel terribly for his family and loved ones. I feel terrible for the Arias family.

Remember that this jury (and I've been on a few) has no idea what is going on in the media circus out here. They are limited to what they see in court. It truly makes a huge difference. I am curious as to how they are perceiving this case.

I do not believe Arias will receive the death penalty...even if she deserves it. I don't know that the threshold of proof beyond a reasonable doubt has been reached in regard to pre-meditation.

We praise the victim because that is what he is-a victim of a crime he did not deserve. He was a human being with flaws just like the rest of us. He is not a saint. We rag on the accused because she killed him brutally and has made up lies upon lies upon LIES, accused him of ugly horrible things. I'm sorry, should be we be nice to her? I don't care what TA did, he is NONE of the things she has painted him out to be and he is a victim. That is what this forum is about. It IS obvious here exactly who is guilty and why it was done and how her "defense" is nothing but lies.

And just from watching only the courtroom stuff the the jury sees, its pretty obvious to many of us the pre-meditation has been proven. If the jury has to only go by what is seen in the courtroom then its pretty obvious what is going to happen-LWOP at the least.

"Through no fault of my own" -because nothing is her fault! I hope the jury took note of that!

Who keeps pages torn out of a journal more than 5 years ago? What a crock!

Did we suddenly get whisked away to Florida, mid trial? I sure do hope these jurors are smarter but I am begining to have grave doubts about the outcome. :(

What about this trial is in any way shape or form like the one in 2011 in Florida? How are the crimes at all similar? There needs to be a "Debbie Downer" bench for the naysayers.

#JodiArias looks like she has a sore on her lip today...

Looks like a pimple to me. I don't think it's a cold sore - seems you'd have to be able to see it up close to determine that. Who knows.

It probably is making her quite unhappy - yet she still does her 'pretty face' posing and expressions (which she does even when she cries). I don't know how to explain the pretty face posing but it drives me crazy.

She is actually very bright....

I agree. While I hate hate hate saying anything positive, her vocabulary is quite good. If she would have finished school and decided to do something good with her life instead of being an empty 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 she could have made a positive difference in the world.

How do you know its a lie?

I agree this was a crime of passion...and I suppose it could have been self-defense. It is very difficult to prove and if Jodi had said that from day one, we wouldn't be here.

I am surprised that many of the women who have been hurt by men do not have more compassion for Arias. Not compassion for the murder but for more understanding about abuse and how it works.

I do not see the fear that I expected. That could be for any number of reasons. First, that she has not fear because she is lying...and that makes sense because she has lied a lot. Or...it could be because she is on medication. Or it could be because the threat is gone. I don't know...and I don't presume to have the answers.

I will step away now....carry on.
Um, yeah. I volunteer several times a week this side of the pond helping real abuse victims because I was one. And when I came out of abuse I had to attempt to prove it to the court. Because my abuse was largely emotional, and I very closely fit the pattern of most abuse victims in 'protecting' my abuser, that was a very difficult feat.

For months now I have made specific points about why I discount Jodi's claims of abuse and it certainly is NOT because I'm lacking compassion. My compassion is kinda what laid me vulnerable to a psychopath in the first place. ;)

As such I have a reasonable understanding of how abuse works. And what would cause abuse NOT to work. Like living 1000 miles apart from the person abusing you. Or having no children with your abuser. Or living with other people. Or your abuser encouraging you to date other people. Or hundreds of accounts by acquaintances, co-workers, friends and family of Travis that discount Jodi's tale she only dreamed up in 2010? Because before that she was stating what everyone else who knew Travis was - he was a generous, funny, sweet man who truly cared about other people.

So maybe instead of us failing to display compassion it should be recognized that many, many survivors of abuse have spoken out on this board. It can be painful, traumatic, and humiliating to relive or recount some of what we've been brave enough to share....

But we've done so in hopes that people can see the similarities between our abuse and the very likely abuse of Travis - the victim of an intimate partner homicide.

Did they really just allow her to interpret a self-help book, and ponder what was supposedly her own writing as to her own meaning? About a book she read in 1999?

This is the reason she can text about getting a butt pounding from a man she says she saw acting upon his pedophile desires 5 months later, but cannot write in her own journal? She had her own residence.
And this has to do with justification of self-defense?
I sincerely hope Juan is permitted to re-cross, or is at least not as polite in his rebuttal.

Totally OT but why when I try to Thank some posts I get an alert message from the 'web page' but there's no message there? Are some posts made that don't allow you to thank them?
