Joe Biden diagnosed with ‘aggressive form’ of prostate cancer. May 2025

I honestly feel really sad for him and his family. Nvr been a Biden fan. But I would nvr wish this on anyone. How horrible to finally retire then have to deal with trying to stay alive. My prayers are with all those close to him. Especially his family. Peace be with them.

I would have thought so too. and he had access to the best medical advisors.
Sadly, what is occurring now, even on MSNBC, are discussions about, was he actually diagnosed a while ago, but just now this information is being released-- because of the fact as president he would have had access to the best care which would have included examination and perhaps testing of the prostate thru blood - I think that is PSA---

Doctor who worked with Biden says he had cancer ‘while he was president’: ‘He did not develop it in the last 100 to 200 days’

“He’s had this for many years, maybe even a decade, growing there and spreading,” Emanuel told the Biden-supporting hosts early Monday. “He did not develop it in the last 100 to 200 days.”

Given the cancer’s Gleason score of 9 and the fact that it metastasized to the bone, many medical experts speculated that the former president had the prostate cancer for some time. Some doctors have said it is “inconceivable” Biden’s diagnosis managed to go undetected for so long.

Biden was advocating for clean energy and the removal of toxins and debris from the environment when he said: "That's why I, and so damn many other people I grew up with, have cancer."

Another possibility?
Kevin O'Connor was/is Biden's doctor.

"The test was not mentioned on Biden’s February 2024 physical report, his last such exam while in office."

“I think the likely scenario, knowing Kevin O’Connor pretty well, is that they had a discussion on what a PSA test is, and they decided not to do one because it would likely be elevated and cause a story, since a lot of older men have high PSAs that are false positives,” this source said.

“A blood test has a paper trail. They probably just didn’t do the test. I think it would leak if he had a PSA test they tried to bury.”

"Biden has also been treated for benign prostatic hyperplasia-
- otherwise known as an enlarged prostate -- but "has never had prostate cancer," O'Connor notes.

Biden has also had several non-melanoma skin cancers removed with Mohs surgery, according to O'Connor."

Adams said he’s always in pain, uses a walker to get around and that he expects to die sometime this summer.

“It’s basically intolerable,” he said of the pain.

Adams said he has had time to process his diagnosis and that it has given him time to say goodbyes, get his affairs in order and do all the things he needed to do.'

'Another possibility is that Biden had an “interval cancer,” meaning it presented itself in the interval between regular screenings.

Interval cancers are aggressive and can progress quickly, Siddiqui said.

“It’s certainly possible that even within a six-month or a one-year period between screening, the cancer can grow fast enough to emerge as a metastatic cancer,” he said.

In particularly rare cases, the cancer may not even produce PSA or might make very low levels that wouldn’t raise alarm on a screening.

“These are the most aggressive cancers, the ones that don’t produce PSA, and so there are several possible explanations for why this diagnosis could have appeared,” Siddiqui added.'

BBM:
What was done during the 2019 surgery?
First I've read about it .

'Biden had previously been diagnosed with benign enlargement of the prostate. In 2019, before he was elected, his campaign released the report from his medical screening, saying he had been treated with medication and surgery, "and has never had prostate cancer".

That's led to questions about whether Biden was tested at any point during his four-year presidency - and why the diagnosis came so late.'

He might have had TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate) which removes part of the prostate to allow for better urine flow.

He had several basal cell skin cancers removed while he was POTUS, and I think even before that. Those are so common at his age, they're almost "normal", and they rarely spread, but they're still cancers.

He may also have a type of cancer that does not cause an abnormal PSA.

I ceased to be a "Dilbert" fan after I found out what kind of person Scott Adams is, and TBH the strip changed for the worse when Dilbert abandoned his characteristic necktie. He still does not deserve this, either.

I was a senior in pharmacy school in the fall of 1993, and had a scheduled lecture on prostate cancer the same day Frank Zappa died from it. He too had a type that was deemed to be inoperable upon diagnosis, although the treatments at the time were very primitive compared to what they have now. (Just imagine him in today's social and political environment!)

"Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer (after skin cancer) among men in the United States. The American Cancer Society estimates that 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, which amounts to approximately 268,000 new cases every year. Fortunately, the disease is very treatable if found early, and in some cases the only “treatment” recommended is active surveillance, or “watchful waiting.”

Currently some 3.1 million American men count themselves as prostate cancer survivors, including more than a few household names such as Robert De Niro, Nelson Mandela, and Harry Belafonte. Read how they and others dealt with having prostate cancer in the public eye.
