Tales of the many-storied Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour are well-worth a read. The thesis tends toward Leon Russell highjacking the assemblage and transplanting it (again and again) to Tulsa, taking advantage of Joe's good nature; but perhaps the whole of it was a reflection of just what a large, enduring good nature Joe Cocker truly had -- and will be remembered for.

Surely brings back memories of a different time.

Just seven months ago memory plus many before , one reason why I love going every year to Jazz Fest .

Feelin' all right.... one of my favorite songs of all time, and written by another favorite and legend, Dave Mason. Rock on and God Speed Mr. Cocker - and thank you for the decades of great rock & roll. There are so few of you left..

I'm showing my age. I have his album, Maddogs and Englishmen...one of the greatest. I attended a small all girl Catholic school and as seniors, we were working on our class song. We wanted A Little Help For My Friends. After the nuns heard it, we lost the battle and had to have the sweet song by Elton John.
RIP, Joe Cocker. Heaven will be rockin'.
