FAMILY HANDOUT John Hardy wearing a green t-shirt and smiling at the camera. He has short light hair.
The BBC understands that the family of the missing father of two received a call from the Cuerpo de la Guardia Civil at about 17:00 GMT to tell them a body was located.

Formal identification is due to take place, but it is understood through clothing and tattoos the family believe it is the 37-year-old who has been missing since 14 December.

John George has been missing from Spain since December 14

I wonder if this won't lead to a tit-for-tat Keane Mulready Woods murder type situation.

I bet the PSNI are on high alert right now.

RIP John

A suspect in the disappearance of Belfast man John George skipped bail in Spain and flew back to Northern Ireland on the same flight as the missing man’s partner, it can be revealed

Speaking to the Irish News, Mr George told how he met the suspect in a public place in recent days.

“I told him straight, you shot my son dead,” he said.

Mr George said the man was later arrested by Spanish police and subsequently released

From video footage, body found roughly centre on this satellite image. 20 - 25 min drive inland from the flat that was searched.

A 32 y/o man arrested on suspicion of Belfast man John George’s murder has appeared in court in the town of Torrevieja.

The unnamed man from the Czech Republic appeared before an investigating judge in a behind-closed-doors hearing. @BelTel

A source from the Valencian High Court said: “The judge is currently attributing to him a crime of homicide as an accomplice or by aiding and abetting the crime.”

The unnamed Czech will have to report to a court every 15 days and has had his passport withdrawn as well as being ordered not to leave Spain.

I don't really understand why he has been released tbh.

The Czech man is accused of being an accomplice, is that right?

In Spain, if he's not considered a threat to public safety / a flight risk / has no priors, then this isn't abnormal.

but he has to check in every two weeks - not being funny but I am not sure he can exactly be trusted to stay in Costa Blanca and obey conditions considering he is already one way or another believed to be involved in what happened to John. Tbh I am not convinced he has no priors either.

Well that little tidbit is eyebrow-raising. Coincidence, or something sinister involving the partner, I wonder?

the czech man is likely to be a hired gun...irish criminal gangs have used many eastern european hitmen over the recent years.

this whole thing goes back to something which began much closer to home for the victim sadly

my own opinion based upon some knowledge of past events

This seems like it would be quite the coincidence to me

Considering the family and the police seem to have no either where JS and MA are how would this paper know this even?
