Depp says he remembers being 4 or 5 years old and mom telling him to get her nerve pills. They were in her purse. When she took her nerve pills she seemed to calm down. So when he was 11 years old he wanted to calm down.

Depp says when he was young kids would say "Let's go party." Depp says he has never said that. He used substances on and off to numb the pain of the ghosts that were still with him from his youth. It was self medication. You want to escape your brain.

Depp says he has had several periods of sobriety in his life. People assumed he was high in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" but he wasn't. For "Donnie Brasco" he had to work out 3-4 hours per day and drink protein shakes to gain muscle. No substances then.

#JohnnyDepp says he was addicted to roxycodone/roxycontin. An opiate. When working on Pirates 4, he had to grab a chair and throw it out of a window. He did it and felt immediate electricity that burned from his spine down his leg. Sciatica. Went to MD.

You don't take those pills to get high. You're taking those pills to get well. Or to get better. B/c if you're w/out the pill, your body will go into various withdrawals. I was on Roxies for 4-5 years.

I've never watched a JD movie or heard him speak before and he seems to me to have weird intonations or a strange accent or something.

I’m not sure about the tones …
He admitted he’s an introvert.They have trouble with -word retrieval - which sounds a lot like stuttering & they hate speaking in front of people they don’t know.
I did love the story that he went to his Dads work and said …”well it looks like someone stole all your clothes”.
My guess is he dealt with shyness a la humor, his character rolls, playing in the band etc.

My ex was an introvert. Everyone’s first impression was he thought he was too good to join in a conversation. Like if a neighbor walked over to us, he’d go in the house.

I give Johnny props for getting up there.
I’m sure he’s waited a lonnnggg time for this but he seems uncomfortable .
Who wouldn’t having their -everything- exposed?
I hope his career gets restored.

#JohnnyDepp now asked about when he met #AmberHeard. It was during the movie "The Rum Diary." Hunter S. Thompson described it as his long-lost novel. They started meetings to get financing. Thompson committed suicide.

I actually turned it off. I was so looking forward to his day in court but honestly, this is weird. Like there is waaaaay too little questioning and far too much monologuing. Not what I am accustomed to in trials.
